Chapter 202

The seas 18km Southeast from Oki Island (the Zumwalt destroyer fleet’s location)
“Numerous cannon rounds fired from the enemy vessels have been detected, sir. Two, three... the numbers are increasing. They are targeting the Lyndon B. Johnson! Twenty-nine seconds before the first round’s impact! The speed is quite fast; the rounds are traveling over Mach 10.”
The Zumwalt destroyer’s battle station filled up on the radar operator’s sudden report.
“Are they missiles?”
“I am not certain, but they are very much smaller than missiles, sir.”
“Then, what are they?”
Admiral Yamamoto Genzur gave his order through the fleet communication line.
-All vessels enter the interception stage by using the CIWS rail guns. Continue the railgun attacks against the enemy as well.
The 8MJ class rail guns responsible for the CIWS (Close-In Weapon System) emerged from the four Zumwalt class destroyers’ interior. The guns turned west, then began to rapidly fire.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The four 8MJ class rail guns fired 500 rounds per minute, and the metallic interception rounds all flew towards the direction of the plasma cluster rounds.
A moment later, the metal rounds from the rail guns succeeded in intercepting the plasma cluster rounds with its speed and power. Across the night sky, short flashes of light lit up the sky like stars from the explosion.

Meanwhile, an emergency meeting was being held in response to the numerous military and communication satellites stationed at Corea for reconnaissance losing contact. The Pentagon’s foreign intelligence agency and the other agencies under the federal government had gathered within the hour and conducted the meeting via video call at the joint satellite mission control.
“Right now, the GEO 5, 6, 7 stationary satellites, two KH11 class satellites orbiting Corea, one KH12 class satellite, and four Lacross radar satellites have lost contact. Since they all seemed to have lost contact at the same time, we can only conclude that they were struck down by a foreign nation,” Vice Director Martinez from the National Reconnaissance Organization (NRO), who was in charge of all intelligence satellites, gave a short briefing and explained the current situation.
“What nation could strike down ten of our military satellites at once? Especially when they are moving in orbit across the globe?” When Vice Director Maddock from the NSA asked, Vice Director Martinez answered.
“Based on our list of nations that are capable of intercepting satellites, the first on the list would be Russia.”
“Russia? No matter how powerful and well-prepared Russia’s missile forces were, I believe they would only be able to intercept one or two satellites at best. There’s no possibility any nation is capable of striking down ten satellites at once. Also, if they were from Russia’s missile attacks, wouldn’t we have detected them well beforehand?” Vice Director Glavin from the CIA gave his opposing opinion.
“That’s right, Vice Director Glavin! I am saying that Russia is the most suspicious nation, not the culprit. As you have said, Russia would be capable of striking down one or two satellites, and if they did make the attempt, we would have detected their attacks and dealt with it.”
“Then which nation is it? China? The U.K? France?” Vice Director Maddocks from the NSA seemed to be frustrated and spoke while rapping the desk lightly with his fist.
“China has been defeated by Corea, and they are not in a state to plan something like this while the U.K and France are our allies. So, it can’t be them.”
“So which nation is it?” When Vice Director Maddocks asked again, the answer came from a different screen.
“It’s Korea. Their official name is now the Federal Republic of Corea.”
The eyes of all the intelligence agency leaders moved towards Director Michael T. Joshi from the DIA.
“Corea? How is it possible with their military power?” When Vice Director Maddocks asked again, Director Michael T. Joshi answered.
“Since you have only been gathering domestic intelligence, I suppose you are lacking in foreign intelligence, Vice Director Maddocks.”
“What do you mean?”
“We at the Defense Intelligence Agency have been collecting intel about the Corean military since the war between China and Corea broke out last year.”
Director Michael T. Joshi seemed to have prepared something. He stood up from his seat and went off-camera for a moment. Then, his screen changed to Director Michael T. Joshi standing next to a large screen.
“When the Corean-Chinese war broke out, how many of you here expected Corea to be victorious?” Director Michael T. Joshi asked the question lightly, then glanced at the other attendees on-screen. When they did not answer, he smiled and continued speaking.
“Please direct your attention to the screen.”
The screen Director Michael T. Joshi pointed to showed the secretly filmed footage of the battles that took place during the Corean-Chinese war.
Among the Corean armored vehicles, the C-3 White tiger tanks firing their photon cannons were seen, and footage of the Chinese ballistic missiles being struck down from space showed up as well. A beam of light appearing from thin air struck down the Chinese ballistic missiles before they could reach the mid-point of their launch and caused them to explode. Also, a heavy cruiser 200m long docked at Ul-Lung Island showed up as well.
After the 5-minute long video finished playing, the screen showed Director Michael T. Joshi again. The questions came pouring in.
“Are you saying that is the power of the Corean military?” Vice Director Maddocks, who was from the NSA, focusing on domestic intelligence, asked with wide eyes.
“Are you suggesting Corea has developed photon weapons?”
“Corea is operating heavy-cruisers... When did they develop such a vessel?”
Director Michael T. Joshi got to the main point while moving past the numerous questions. “I am sure the director of the CIA is well aware. Corea has been developing such weapons since 2017. Also, they deployed tanks equipped with photon weapons in the field. Using these weapons, they were victorious in the war against China. Corea has also used laser weapons to easily intercept the Chinese ballistic missiles. I believe they are using interception satellites as well.”
“They are operating interception satellites? Why didn’t you share such information until now?”
“We have used every possible method to seek out Corea’s satellite, but we were unable to confirm its physical form or position. We were unable to report it when we haven’t found the actual satellite yet.”
“This is shocking.”
“Did you all see the heavy cruiser docked at Ul-Lung island? That vessel is named the Chungmugong Lee Sun-Shin, and could be considered to be similar to our heavy cruiser. That vessel is probably the one that annihilated Japan’s 3rd escorting fleet and the 1st carrier strike group. They achieved this with a single vessel.”
“Could this really be true? I cannot believe it. How could Corea have made such advancements in a short period... Is there something we don’t know about?” Vice Director Maddocks from the NSA asked once again.
Director Michael T. Joshi from the DIA looked directly into the camera and answered.
“I am sorry. That is top-secret, so we cannot disclose the information at the moment. However, based on the latest Corean weapons, they are more than capable of attacking and striking down our military satellites.”
The leaders of each intelligence agency on the screen were all in shock.
“The footage you have all seen is SS-ranked secret. I am revealing this information to you since all of us in the intelligence agencies must disclose intel about Corea to each other and increase our espionage activities, especially in military technology. We must gather evidence and figure out a strategy on how to respond once we do.”

The seas 18km southeast from Japan’s Oki Island (Zumwalt destroyer fleet’s location)
An hour had passed since the battle against the Chungmugong Lee Sun-shin (CG-1101) had begun. The 8MJ rail guns, which boasted a high interception rate, were unable to intercept all targets. A few of the surviving high cluster plasma rounds swarmed the Zumwalt destroyer fleet.
Boom! Bang!
The plasma cluster rounds flew so fast that they could not be seen by the naked eye. The rounds struck the 3rd destroyer, the Lyndon B. Johnson repeatedly. With a large explosion, the destroyer was swallowed by the ocean rapidly. Also, the 4th destroyer, the Anderwoody, was struck at its starboard and became engulfed in flames while emitting black smoke.
-Vessel 3, Lyndon B. Johnson is sinking!
-Vessel 4 has been struck directly at its starboard, and is on fire!
-Is vessel 4 capable of battle?
-Yes, they are dousing the flames, and it is capable of making attacks.
Captain of the Anderwoody, Yanagida Masahiro grasped his head that got injured from the shock of the explosion and answered Admiral Yamamoto Genzur’s question.
When Admiral Yamamoto Genzur lost the battle using cannons against the Chungmugong Lee Sun-shin (CG-1101), despite outnumbering it four to one, he ordered the entire fleet to launch missiles.
-All vessels launch ship-to-ship missiles. Each vessel is to launch four rounds of the Super Harpoon missiles.
The RGM-85 (Super Harpoon Block I) missile was a modified version of the RGM-84 (Harpoon Block II) ship-to-ship missile. Each round was worth a million dollars and 12 rounds of the super harpoon missile flew out from three Zumwalt destroyers. The missiles used its two-leveled scramjet engines to fly at Mach 6. They were 65 seconds away from reaching the Chungmugong Lee Sun-shin (CG-1101).
Woosh~ Woosh~ Woosh~ Woosh~ Woosh~ Woosh~
The scramjet engines emitted red flames, and the glow soon disappeared into the eastern sky.
“Four Superharpoons from vessel 2 the Michael Monsoor, the Anderwoody and Zumwalt destroyer 1 have been launched successfully. A total of 12 rounds are 47 seconds away from reaching the enemy vessel, sir,” the Zumwalt destroyer’s arms man reported in. action
Admiral Yamamoto Genzur gave another order to launch the ship-to-ship missiles. “We are launching two additional super harpoon missiles for the second wave.”
“Giving the orders to launch a second set of missiles, sir.”
Admiral Yamamoto Genzur gave the order to launch missiles that cost more than a million dollars each without hesitation. He had concluded it was better than losing Zumwalt destroyers that cost at least 4.5 billion dollars each.
Meanwhile, the Chungmugong Lee Sun-shin (CG-1101) had been successful in intercepting the metal railgun rounds coming towards them, but the shrapnel had struck parts of the vessel and damaged the ship. However, the radars and communication equipment were unharmed and it was able to continue fighting.
