George subtly raised an eyebrow, aware that only a handful of people knew about his feigned amnesia.
Among those, Scarface and Danny were loyal to a fault, and it was unlikely they’d ever side with the Scathings.
And Milly? She'd just left the hospital, so her crossing paths with Lucius seemed improbable.
So, the question was, how did Lucius find out?
Despite his doubts, George kept his cool, his face giving nothing away. “My memory
issues don’t seem to concern Mr. Scathings. I’m curious about what brings Mr. Scathings to this place?”
Lucius’s eyes flashed with a dark glint. “That’s not for you to worry about. Just know you're not the one for
Milly!”
At that moment, the air around George chilled, becoming visibly tense as if an unseen standoff had begun.
“Really? And does Mr. Scathings believe he has a say in others’ personal fiancée?”
“You!” Lucius’s mood soured immediately at the mention of fiancée, his anger flaring at the thought of someone

The tension between them escalated.
Following George closely, Danny quietly stepped back, trying not to get involved in whatever confrontation
George was gearing up for!
But then he thought something seemed off.
He couldn't help but intervene, stepping up to offer a peace-making suggestion, his voice low, “Uh... Mr. Tate, Mr.
Scathings, maybe we should put our differences aside for now? Ms. Milly is still in danger inside. Perhaps we
could focus on that first. What do you think?”
This shifted their focus.
The entrance to the Ghost Sect was eerily deserted at this moment, not even a single guard in sight. Unusual for
an underground syndicate’s hideout, which, even temporarily, would generally be secured.
To the side, Lucius squinted, raised his hand, and commanded, “Assault team, get ready!”
When he gave the order, over a dozen special forces troops lined up behind him. They instantly stood at
attention, shouting, “Ready!”
Lucius pointed towards the entrance. “Start the attack!”
“Got it!”
The squad, moving like clockwork, stealthily entered so quietly that even the leaves didn’t rustle. Their military
boots made no sound.
Watching the team go in, Danny looked at George, a bit worried. “Mr. Tate, do you think we should check it out
too?”
George thought momentarily, looked around, and then decided. “No need.”
Lucius had already sent a team in. There wasn’t any point in sending more people.
Too many operatives might alert the enemy. Plus, the team was ready to handle whatever ctheir way, so
letting them do their job made sense.
After about ten minutes, the assault team cback. The team leader gave Lucius a crisp salute and reported.
“Boss, the factory gate is about three hundred metres from here, with no enemies in sight. There are five
buildings in good shape, all enemy-free.”
Danny frowned at the news. Their past run- ins with the Ghost Sect showed them as clever and brutal. The fact
that there were no guards was weird.
Could this be a trick? How about a way to lure them elsewhere?

George and Lucius were puzzled, too.
Lucius asked, “No one’s inside?”
The team member answered, “Actually, sir, there are people there. They're all in the biggest room - three
leaders, over two hundred underlings, and over twenty external personnel.”
“What about the hostages?”
The leader hesitated slightly before answering, “Didn't find any hostages.”
No hostages in a kidnapping didn’t make sense. Usually, hostages are kept close for bargaining. However, they
searched all the rooms and possible hiding places but found no sign of the hostage.
Danny got a cold feeling. “Three leaders? That means we're dealing with three branch. sect members! That's not
good.”
Taking on two branches was hard enough, especially on Halturia ground. But three branches meant three-
quarters of the Ghost Sect were here. The scales were definitely tipped. This could turn ugly fast.
The Ghost Sect was known for being tough survivors in the underworld. Even with the Scathings backing them,
winning a straight fight seemed dicey.
