Chapter 415
The island experienced unpleasant weather today. Following a mildly misty morning, the sky becgloomy and
threatening, resulting in an eerie feeling.
Milly wiped her nose and looked up at the dull sky, sensing that a strong downpour was on its way.
Even with the poor weather, they had plenty of seafood from their previous catch, sufficient to feed five people
for a few days. There was also an ample supply of fresh water.
The only thing they lacked was firewood.
They had to find dry firewood before the rain started, so they would have enough for warmth and cooking during
the upcoming wet days.
Milly bent down and pulled a saw out of the suitcase, one she had brought with her earlier. She looked at the
sharp blade with satisfaction and nodded.
Though it had seemed heavy when she packed it, it was worth the effort now that it could be put to use. The
hard work of carrying it all the way wasn’t in vain.
Watching her, George realised what she intended to do and got up to assist her, taking the saw from her hand.
“Let's go, I'll cwith you!”
Milly smiled at him, her expression showing a touch of youthful charm. “Alright.”
Hmm, having a boyfriend seems pretty good after all.
Later, we can go together to a secluded place to chop strees, and then... well, you know. Hmm, it actually
sounds quite exciting!
Alone together, under the moonless sky, with a chiselled eight-pack... wow, I'm so looking forward to it!
“Thud-"

“Aw! Why did you hit my head?” Milly rubbed her forehead, shooting a disgruntled look at the man next to her.
She was just getting to the interesting part when he interrupted.
George gazed at her lovingly and murmured, “There are cameras everywhere, let's keep this low-key.”
Low-key?
She glanced nervously at the recording camera, and sure enough, one was focused on her face. But wait, |
hadn’t done anything except think. Could the camera really see into my thoughts?
With this in mind, she straightened her posture a bit. “Stop accusinghere. | didn’t do anything just now. Um,
| wasn’t even thinking about anything!”
She spoke with confidence and dignity.
Yet, her vehement denial only appeared to make her seem more guilty.
George raised an eyebrow and chuckled, saying, “Is that so? Maybe you should clean your lips first.”
My lips?
That's impossible!
Milly was surprised and quickly wiped her lips with her hand, finding them clean and dry. Understanding she had
been fooled, she stared angrily at him. “You deceived me!”
George remained cheerful and upbeat, even while wearing his mask. “I'm sorry.”
“You scoundrel’
He’s changed! The lofty and untouchable Mr. Tate in her mind has been brought down from his pedestal!
Just as they were playfully bantering and the atmosphere was lively, suddenly a delicate and intentionally sweet
voice interjected, “Milly, where are you guys going?”
Milly’s mood, which had just brightened due to George's improvement, suddenly turned gloomy.
She really was persistent, wasn’t she?
The protagonist indeed embodied her role. The author has endowed her with an incredibly strong halo,
omnipresent and powerful.
Milly smirked and confronted her, a touch of scorn visible. “Oh, we're going to chop wood. Want to calong?”
She definitely won't calong!
She wouldn't bother with such exhausting and thankless tasks, especially without any recognition.
However...
“Sure thing, I'll go with you,” Stephanie replied with a charming smile, looking quite pleased.
Milly raised an eyebrow, taken aback.
Had the world turned upside down?
Grinning, Milly commented, “Since you want to go, why don’t you go ahead? We'll stay here. There's still plenty
to do. It's really generous of you to offer to help us out. | didn’t expect you to be so understanding.”
Stephanie was surprised by the glowing praise and struggled to refuse.
As expected, her cheerful expression instantly stiffened. “I... | don’t know where the firewood is.”
Milly pointed casually, looking at her with an expression that suggested she was dealing with someone
intellectually-challenged. “Isn’t all this around us trees? Just pick whichever one looks good to you and chop it.”
Stephanie responded, ‘But, uhm...”
She was now in a difficult position, feeling a bit trapped. Her face darkened noticeably, and the plan forming in
her mind just moments ago was reluctantly shelved.
Just a moment ago, when Milly mentioned going with Charlie to chop firewood, her plan was simply to follow
along and find an area without cameras to administer the drugs. Milly would have had little chance of escaping.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmEven if Stephanie managed to escape unscathed herself and the suspicion from the Burnetts would linger,
without concrete evidence, they would be powerless. As for Charlie ...
Heh, since he likes Milly, let him accompany her to die and becghost lovers.
This plan seems flawless no matter how you look at it.
However, the prerequisite is that Milly must fall into the trap. If she doesn’t go, no matter how perfect the plan
is, it will be useless.
No, | can’t rush. This plan is only one step away from completion. | can’t give up halfway. Now is the best
opportunity to eliminate Milly. If | wait for her to return to the Burnetts, it will be even more difficult.
“Milly, | just remembered something. The director said we shouldn't randomly cut down trees here. The owner of
this island doesn’t allow it. Maybe we shouldn't chop trees to avoid trouble with the production team. How about
we go fishing instead?” Stephanie proposed enthusiastically, her face glowing with eager anticipation.
Milly remained silent.
Cannot chop down trees randomly? How could | not know? Wasn't | the owner of this island?
Don't just talk about chopping down trees-even if | levelled this place, no one would dare say a word. Milly
thought to herself, noting Stephanie’s obvious evasion.
Wasn't she supposed to dislikeso much? The way she usually looked at me, it was as if she wanted to
pounce and biteto death. Yet now, she was unexpectedly leaning towardsof her own accord.
Something is wrong-very wrong!
When things go against the norm, there must be something sinister afoot!
After all, Stephanie had tried to harm her not just once or twice. While she couldn't think of any new tricks
herself, being constantly watched like this seemed quite
troublesome.
‘Milly, have you forgotten we have plenty of seafood here? Why go fishing? Or perhaps you have something in
mind for us by the seaside? Hmm?”
