53 Ch. 53 Anxia’s Biggest Weakest
Oeeek! Oeeek!
Finally! After spending hours suffering... to Anxia, it felt like she had been suffering for ages. Anxia was able to meet her daughter.
Only, for the first time in history, I mean... as long as she could remember, Anxia was experiencing excessive exhaustion. She fell asleep without getting a chance to see what the baby looked like.
On the other hand, Ling Meng and Evgen, who were waiting outside, were visited by a nurse who informed them that baby Anxia had been transferred to a sterile baby room.
They could see the baby through the glass window at the end of the corridor.
Before seeing Anxia’s baby, Ling Meng asked about Anxia’s current condition and was very surprised to hear that Anxia had fainted from being too tired.
Well, basically, the girl’s stamina wasn’t as great as the other assassins, so Anxia preferred to finish her mission quickly after planning an efficient strategy without having to use her physical energy.
So it was not surprising that Anxia would feel tired, especially after giving birth which drained almost all of her energy.
It was just that she didn’t expect Anxia to just faint like that. Usually, no matter how tired Qiao Anxia was, the girl would never fainted, and her eyelids remained open.
.....
Ling Meng couldn’t help but smile, realizing that behind the determined mask and the domineering expression on Anxia’s face, there was a weak side to it.
“Hey, you don’t want to see the baby? I heard from the nurses this newborn was lovely.”
“Of course, she is beautiful. She is Qiao Qiao’s daughter.” Evgen shook his head resignedly at the proud tone of the voice of the girl walking next to him.
Then the two walked down the corridor to see what kind of newborn baby Anxia had come into this world.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThey peered through the doorless glass window looking for baby Anxia among the six other babies who had also been born a few hours earlier. As soon as they found Qiao Anxia’s name on the cot, they immediately turned their eyes to look at the baby.
Both of them gasped when they saw the face of the baby who was currently sleeping.
Smooth white skin, thick eyelashes, sharp and elegant nose, and reddish-brown hair color... the baby girl’s mere appearance managed to steal their breath.
However... this baby didn’t resemble Anxia... she didn’t even look like an oriented child.
“Could it be there is some mistake? Maybe the nurse put the tag on the wrong baby?”
Ling Meng frowned at this question from her friend’s mouth. “I thought the doctor who treated Qiao Qiao was your trusted doctor?”
“I said nurse, not doctor. It could be there is a nurse who is sleepy so that she is confused with another baby.”
Ling Meng neither confirmed nor denied her friend’s words. She returned her gaze to the nursery and looked for another baby who had an Asian face.
But... nothing. The average baby there has a typical Russian face and no black-haired baby. On average, the baby’s hair was light brown or dark red.
Evgen also thought the same as Ling Meng when he realized that none of the babies showed Chinese traits. They darted at each other with puzzled looks, and they both agreed in silence that the baby Anxia had inherited the genes of the baby’s father.
“I must admit, this child is the most captivating baby I have ever seen. I wonder who the father is.”
“Hmm. I agree, and I’m curious about the father. But Qiao Qiao never told me. He’s also dead, after all, so we don’t need to talk about it.”
It was Evgen’s turn to frown at this statement. “Your friend killed him??”
Ling Meng didn’t answer but still admired the beauty of her friend’s newborn baby.
For the umpteenth time, Evgen shook his head at Qiao Anxia’s sadism. Luckily he wasn’t involved with that terrifying girl. Otherwise, he could have died by now.
A few hours later, Anxia woke up and immediately looked for her newborn baby. Anxia felt pain in her lower abdomen as she tried to get up, but she didn’t care.
This kind of pain was not as painful as when she gave birth or when she got a gunshot wound. So she kept getting up and trying to get out of bed.
Fortunately, the door to her room was opened just as Anxia lowered her legs. Ling Meng sighed when she saw the determination in Anxia’s eyes. She knew Anxia would not consider her health before meeting her little baby.
Ling Meng was relieved and happy that Anxia was finally able to love her daughter, but really... she didn’t expect Anxia to throw away her own health just to meet her daughter.
After all, the baby girl wasn’t going anywhere as long as Ling Meng and Evgen were here. So that Anxia could focus on recovering first and not have to worry about her daughter.
But Ling Meng didn’t scold her and helped Anxia to walk out so her best friend could meet her child first.
Ling Meng had never given birth before, and she didn’t know what it was like to be pregnant. But she knew her friend’s motherly instincts were so strong that she couldn’t stop her from seeing her daughter.
“The doctor said your daughter had yellow skin because her blood type is different from yours. She brought certain antibodies from you to increase her bilirubin production, which is why his skin turns yellow.”
“Is she okay?”
“She will be fine. Doctors have given her an injection to destroy the antibodies. But for now, it would be better if she was placed in a special sterile room for babies. You don’t have to worry.”
Anxia sighed in relief at her best friend’s explanation. She didn’t really understand the term bilirubin or the cause of her baby’s yellowing of the skin. But when she heard that her daughter was fine, only then could she breathe a sigh of relief.
Seeing that Anxia, who used to look worried and panicked, could now sigh of relief made Ling Meng feel restless. Surprisingly, she didn’t know why she was nervous. Ling Meng felt she had made a mistake but did not know what she had done wrong.
As soon as she arrived in front of the glass window that separated the space between Anxia and the sterile baby room, Anxia touched the glass window with both hands. She was confused as to why her baby had a completely different hair color from hers, but it didn’t matter.
Right now, in her eyes, her little baby was the most beautiful thing she had ever received in her life.
In contrast to Anxia, who felt moved and fell in love with her daughter, Ling Meng turned pale, realizing what wrong she had done! She only realized it when she saw the gentle gaze full of love and the happy smile on her best friend’s face.
She knew very well the meaning of those eyes filled with determination. Anxia would do anything to protect and make her daughter happy!
For some reason, she felt... in the future, this child would be Qiao Anxia’s biggest weakness.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIt looks like she has to help educate the child about various secret codes and teach her to act so that one day, this child can avoid danger once she understands their secret code.

“Now you know why you would regret killing her. If it weren’t for Ling Meng, I would have long... What are you doing!?” Anxia screamed in shock because suddenly Richard came back closer to her while holding her hands that had been struggling.
There was no answer from Richard, but Anxia knew that the man was furious... for some unknown reason. The man’s anger was evident in his brown eyes, and Anxia couldn’t help but be afraid to face him.
It was the first for Anxia to be afraid of someone else, yet she wondered why this man had a sudden mood swing.
Nonetheless, she didn’t want to back down or look so easily defeated, so she stared straight back at the man with a defiant look. It was precisely because of her challenging attitude that it made Richard even more enraged.
How dare this woman desire to abort her baby... His precious baby girl!?
Richard could not imagine that one day he would get news that he had a child, but he did not get to meet his daughter because it turned out that the mother of his child had aborted her!
Mad.
Hate.
If Richard hadn’t realized his true feelings, he might have hated this woman his whole life for having thought about aborting his baby without telling him.
If Richard had not had any feelings for this woman before, he would not have bothered to woo or think of a way to get this woman to marry him.
This woman’s heart was as hard as a stone and too vicious to change. Richard believed that if Anxia decided to abort Lori, this woman might have continued her revenge plot and thought of a way to ruin his twin brother’s happy marriage.
For a moment, Richard hesitated... would he be able to break into his wife’s heart?
