Chapter 540 - Consequences
Trusting in Two, Eldrian kept running, fighting to keep his eyes open against the storm of winds assaulting him. Nearly falling when the storm of winds suddenly disappeared.
Surrounding him was a thin layer of frosty wind, diverting the winds around and away from him while keeping the winds inside at the same speed as Eldrian. Instead of fighting the air, he was now in a bubble separate from it, moving along with him.
'How did you-?'
{'I'm not sure, I was just trying something and it worked.'}
'Worked?'
{'I don't think the magic we are using is normal'}
'What?'
{'Think about it, just think. You summoned a shockwave from a shout, you burned that steel door with another.'}
'What are you getting at, Two?' Eldrian asked as he rounded another corner and an elevator came into view. The security system was the same, somehow he knew this.
'How are we going to get through that?'
{'We'll have to literally go through it. Will you be able to-'}
'Yeah, I'm still plenty pissed.'
Running up against the door, Eldrian immediately called upon the burning flames in his heart. His anger at being twice betrayed burned bright and fed the flames with unknown power.
Sparks flew and iron melted. But this time Two quickly acted, contracting the frosty windshield, he formed it as a soft shield surrounding Eldrian's body like a second skin. Keeping the molten steel from burning into him like before.
When a hole big enough had been burnt into the door, they rushed through. The elevator worked through a similar security system, Eldrian and Two did not care.
They turned to the roof and quickly it too melted away. Climbing through the still red hot iron, Eldrian did not even register that he should be dying from the heat. He did not register that Two was protecting him, he was just focused on escaping.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Winds... I need wind!" Shouting, Eldrian tried to spread his consciousness to find mana to use. After all, he had an extremely small mana pool in this body of his. Not nearly enough to even cast a Tier 3 spell.
{'Winds... I see, let me try.'}
After a few seconds, the body shield Two had summoned shifted again. This time it took on the form of a box, filling the entire elevator shaft and pushing air upwards. Freezing cold air that would cause anyone to shiver from the cold.
'Nice!' Eldrian used the updraft along with his insane strength and speed to jump from wall to wall like some sort of ninja. It was arduous, taking many tries each that had resulted in a long fall. In the end, they succeeded.
"Door, get out of the way!" Shouting so Eldrian again summoned up flames and started burning the door. Two acted quickly to block the flying pieces of molten steel, the sudden loss of an updraft nearly caused Eldrian to fall.
Yet, still, he did not even realize what Two was doing. He was singularly fixated on escaping.
Scrapping through the hole he had molten in the door, Two's shield had been unable to block all the damage. Multiple long charred scars covered Eldrian's arms, back, and legs. He did not even register the pain. It was immediately simply turned into overwhelming rage.
Scrambling to his feet, Eldrian rushed towards the next door. The room they were in now a hundred meters long and just as wide, a single double door on the opposite side.
Upon taking five steps, the double doors opened and a group of twenty fully armed and armored guards rushed out of the door. Behind them, Micaela stood confidently.
Eldrian let the anger inside of him burn, he summoned his flames and readied himself to obliterate everyone before him.
{'Eldrian! Calm down!'}
'Why? They locked me up and now they want to keep me caged!? I'll kill them all!'
{'Eldrian, this isn't you. Just stop and think for a second!'}
'No!', "They deserve to die!"
Eldrian's attack was stopped after moving just a few meters. Freezing winds threw it into the opposite wall, causing the reinforced concrete to turn to lava.
{'Eldrian! This isn't you!'}
'Wha-what's going on.'
Falling to his knees, Eldrian looked at his surroundings. Confused.
The last thing he remembered was being overwhelmed with emotions as a strange person in protective clothing tried to inject him.
That was when it suddenly came rushing back, along with the pain of having many charred scars and molten steel burned into his flesh. Eldrian fell to the ground in pain, trashing as everything rushed at him at once.
{'Focus, don't let the pain overwhelm you. Focus on my voice, think of your friends and family.'}
Eldrian shouted in pain as the overload of magic usage followed after the physical pain he was in.
Watching this, Micaela smiled and ordered the soldiers to move forward. That was their last mistake.
'Did...', "Did you hurt them?!"
Eldrian's sight's turned red and even Two's voice was unable to break through the haze.
Like a possessed demon, Eldrian charged at the soldiers without care. He desired revenge and he was going to get it no matter what.
Two did all that he could to try and protect Eldrian, but he was not used to using magic and it was also far harder to use magic on Earth compared to in the simulation. He managed to block the first barrage of bullets by summoning a shield of ice.
The second barrage shattered the ice and Two realized that a peaceful outcome was not possible.
{'If we are going to kill, then let's do it as one.'} Two let his own mental guards down and Eldrian's anger and fury flooded him. The two suddenly thought as one and the shattered ice was turned into a deadly attack.
Sending a thousand pieces of ice forward with all their anger.
The ice flew through the soldiers like their armor -the most advanced carbon fiber kevlar- was just thin pieces of paper.
...
"Wha-whats going on?" Eldrian pushed himself up from the ground.
His body was in tormet, he tried his best to not think of that. However, the sight that welcomed him made any mental resistance he could muster crumble in seconds.
Mangled bodies filled the room, the smell of blood filled the air, and the reason for all this alluded Eldrian.
He stumbled to his feet, his emotions a mess. But one thing still rang clear.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe had to escape.
He had to make sure his family was safe.
He had to make sure they had done nothing to Jen.
...
Eldrian stumbled into the first floor of the ANW department. He immediately recognized the all too familiar room. Before stunned and confused eyes, he pulled himself forward. One of his legs no longer work properly, but that didn't matter. He just had to escape.
"Eldrian! My god, what happened?" Flavia looked at Eldrian's mangled and charred body, unable to keep her composure and just barely able to keep herself from throwing up.
She dived under one of his arms to help him keep his balance, ignoring that his flesh literally pulled off from the slightest touch.
Eldrian smiled, "So, not everyone was involved?"
"Involv- My god, did Miracle do this?"
Eldrian nodded.
Many in the cafeteria sprang up to try and defend their employers. Yet, their minds could not make sense of what they were seeing. When they heard a rush of boots and the readying of weapons they all froze.

AN: It's hard to put my gratitude for everyone who decides to support this work of mine in words. Many of you know that I do not write pretty and fancy sentences. But I will try to thank you all properly.
I never expected that I would make it this far, and I myself never even thought it would turn out as it had. As the recent chapters have said, everything has changed.
I want to say thank you to everyone who chooses to use paid coins to read my story. I understand the struggle with not being able to afford it all the time, and I would never ask that people must pay to read my work. Just as I would never expect someone to read it if they didn't enjoy it.
I appreciate everyone who enjoys and reads this story of mine. I love getting comments from people on what they enjoyed or what shocked them. I appreciate everyone who constantly votes for this story of mine.
Most importantly I want to thank everyone who actually supports this work of mine through paid coins.
I know that I make mistakes and that at times it is not perfect, or rather that it never is. That is what makes my appreciation all the greater, for you willing choose to support me and my work. That is what is the most amazing.
So again, thank you very much.
'Your comments are what help me to write when I am having a hard day. It is what brightens my day and makes it all worth it.. Your support is what helps me write when I am having a hard week, it helps me consider it more than just a hobby of mine own.'
