My contemplations before sleeping on the previous day bore no fruits. For a moment I thought of creating a barrier around them, but then I realized that it would basically have the same effect as making them wet, and then freezing to a solid piece. Basically, with a barrier in my pants, I wouldn't be able to walk without breaking that barrier.
Although I could make barriers in different shapes, and with different properties, I couldn't make them bend and twist. The clothes needed to get enchanted by my young friend Rishi.
Maybe he already was working on a pair for me. I had no idea since I didn't check with him, which I was gonna definitely do very soon.
The other subject of my thinking made me decide to implement a periodical twenty-hour hunt into my schedule. With an aspiration to make that an everyday thing. Maybe even extend the time to full twenty-four hours.
I did my daily routine in a hurry to visit Jayadeva's workshop before departure. Although he wasn't present, Rishi was.
- Morning Peter! - he welcomed me, as I stuck my head through a slightly opened door.
- Morning. So? Have you thought about the clothes? - I asked, now getting inside properly.
Few workers appeared, cleaning up the place, and putting tools in the right places.
- Yes. I made a few prototypes with pieces of cloth. The fabric seems more durable, but it's nothing compared to, for example, a sword. Metal just seems to work better with magic.
I quickly checked his words with the data stuck in my head from the manual.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt- That's because the magic is amplifying the durability of the material.
- Well, then you better get me some kevlar pants to work with, or there is no real sense in doing this on normal clothes.
- Kevlar pants... Hm... Maybe it's time to upgrade our device? I need to talk with Hatta - I said more to myself than to him, then just left.
- Bye Peter! - he shouted after me.
- Yeah! Thanks! - I shouted back.
I was on the clock, but even though, I still went to visit Hatta in his office. I caught him along the way, in the corridor.
- Great that I found you, we need to talk - I said.
- Hi. I'm kinda busy... - he said stopping, clearly annoyed.
- Just a moment.
- Ok, but be fast...
- Do you have any funds dedicated to upgrading the device?
- Well... Yeah, but it's not that much. We only recently started hoarding the stones with that purpose in mind. Why are you asking?
- Well, I think it's time to upgrade it.
- I won't starve people to just get enough points for that. We will eventually get there - he said and was about to just walk away, but I grabbed him.
- I'll donate half, and ask the rest to add some too.
He nodded.
- Ok. Now I really have to go...
And he left. Later I learned that he was dealing with newcomers, a group that was pulled to take the spot of Blue's dead soldiers.
With the conversation out of the way, I went to my friends, to finally start the hunt. I was a little bit late, but nobody said anything. We traveled to the canyon at first, and then I, with Ki'rai, jumped to continue our journey through the hills to get to the mountain range.
It was clear that if we were to progress as we did a day before, we wouldn't still reach it, so we came to a conclusion it will be faster for her to fly, and for me to run. We ended up doing just that, stopping before engaging with a bigger group of giants, which we left for tomorrow, mainly because of the time.
I dropped the anchor in the new place, and we shadow walked back to meet with Will and others. This time they were waiting for us.
- Hey, guys... I need to talk to you about something - I said immediately upon seeing them.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm- What happened? - asked Boris.
- I talked with Hatta this morning about upgrading the device. I'll be donating half of the points. Can you also give out some crystals?
- Well... - started Boris.
- I think it's time to finally do it - interrupted Nobuo. - We are making enough to spare something for such a noble cause.
- Yeah - said Will. - There also should be new stuff to buy. Probably a lot of useful things.
- A lot of materials like rubber, and chemical stuff. Metal alloys, kevlar... - I started reciting from my database.
- Ok, ok. You convinced me - Biris gave up.
- Good. So it's decided. Let's go - I took them back.
The rest of the day want just like the one before, with me clearing all the other spots, and killing the bosses. I gave everything I earned on that day to Hatta. A total of 16 765 000 points in crystals.
I spent the rest of the day relaxing, first in water, then in my room. I was slowly getting a little bit further with creating the most efficient hunting plan yet.
Unlocking giants' territory would be another big step, just as upgrading the device. Then I needed to get myself even stronger and decrease the time needed for clearing those spots. After that was establishing routes to new hunting grounds.
Then the time to finally search for Loistavadvaar would come. The key of us returning to earth. I was a bit afraid of us losing this place to the governments of different countries, that would definitely at least try to put their hands on our device.
I didn't want to overthink the matter, knowing that's something I should worry about after I will be able to open a portal or other pathway to our home planet. It was kinda exciting though. An idea of how humanity would react to this whole place, and us. I couldn't help but smile, just before I fell asleep.
The day came to an end with 148 249 749 points remaining on my account, and eighty-two class points.
