The next day a sweep through the hunting grounds gave me 7 750 200 points, which combined with what I already had put me at 15 049 000 regular points and 188. When I returned, the people in Petrograd were still sleeping. I was just unbelievably fast at clearing and had already prepared anchors close to each territory, to get on with it even faster.
The idea of going for the crafting classes was already very strongly present in my mind, so I guess saying that I decided to go with it on a whim, would be a stretch, so let's say that it was a carefully thought-through decision, even if it wasn't.
I bought two 'Blacksmith' classes and another 'Barrier maker' class, then combined one of the blacksmiths with that barrier maker to create an 'Infuser' class.
The 'Blacksmith' class have me access to the following skills: 'Understanding of metal', 'Metal manipulation', and 'Craftsmanship'.
'Understanding of metal' gave me the knowledge necessary to know what I should be doing. The 'Metal manipulation' allowed me to put the knowledge to use in a correct manner, by shaping the material as I wanted it to be shaped. 'Craftsmanship' contrary to how it actually sounds, was more about making the item pretty, not just functional.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe 'Infuser' class skill list was even shorter. It conducted only of two skills: 'Infuse', and 'Shape'. Well not really, because there was also the 'Mana' skill, but you could hardly call that a skill. 'Infuse' was about putting the magic into an item in a way, that it would remain there because there was actually not as simple as just pushing it into the object because it would just escape.
The 'Shape' skill was even more important, as it allowed you to shape the magic in the item to do what you wanted it to do, but not only. You could also make the magic work with itself to stay at a constant level. It was kinda like 'Overcharging'. To give you a clearer picture, you could make a flaming sword that was fueling itself.
After that little shopping spree, I obviously upgraded the skills, but only three times, as I couldn't really allow myself to go any further without seriously delaying the next upgrade for the sapling. It left me with 14 383 000 regular points, and 185 class points.
Then I put things on pause. I'm gonna explain to you why because there were several reasons.
First of all, to work properly I needed tools and other equipment. A forge anvil et cetera. Of course, you could argue that with my powers I could do some work around it and still do great, but I kinda liked the idea of having my own workshop Plus the 'blacksmith' class skills were more about a traditional approach.
To do that, I first of all needed points, but I could invest some since, despite my overall unwillingness to spend caused by wanting to get more upgrades for the sapling, I had actually a substantial amount. So the problem was actually slightly different. To put it simply, I didn't want to wake up everybody in the city by creating an additional building.
There was also a second reason. I wanted to surprise people.
I couldn't wait to see the faces of my family members when they would see all the new weapons and armor I'd created for them. I also kinda wanted to show the rest that I still was full of surprises.
This was also a great opportunity, in the future obviously, to work with Leonel. The kid clearly wanted to become a hero, and I was completely sure he wouldn't say no to an offer of making his own sword with me. Great possibility to spend a lot of time with the boy.
To achieve all of that, I removed myself from the people's eyes and returned home after getting the groceries. I didn't say a word to anybody, just focused on making breakfast, so when Celestine, Tihana, Leonel, and Carmelita went to the dining room, lured by the smell of the food, there was a whole-ass fest awaiting them.
- You need energy for a whole day of work - I said to them.
- Morning dad - I heard in response from Tirana, as she was wiping her eyes, and drawing her feet behind to the table.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm- Morning honey - said Celestine.
She had a little bit more energy in her, but I could see past the facade. She was also tired. Carmelita looked similar to her, but she wasn't actually pretending. Leonel, contrary to everybody else was full of energy. He clearly couldn't wait to get out there again, slay some monsters, and become slightly better at being the hero he wanted to become.
- Morning dad! - he almost shouted at me, as he ran to his chair.
His energy was adorable, but for Carmelita, it was clearly kinda cringeworthy, as her eyes became bigger when she heard those words. Then she had to fight with a smile, as a short snort left her nose.
I ignored all that and began putting eggs and bacon on everybody's plates. I added to that some grilled vegetables with slices of chicken breast.
As a drink, they got a glass full of orange juice, with exception of my wife, who got a nice steaming black coffee.
I watched them devouring the food since I already ate while preparing the meal. I'm not gonna lie, I couldn't wait for them to get the hell out, not just from the house, but from the whole city, alongside the rest of the citizens.
Yes, just because I wanted to set up the workshop. My imagination was going wild because cooking actually made me have a few genius-level ideas. In my imagination, I had a whole big-ass workshop and was already making their massive golems, ready to listen to my every order. They looked scary, with jagged metal sticking out everywhere, and were armed to the teeth.
At this point, it was already impossible to change my mind. I was gonna make those ideas a reality. I guess that's what happens when a nerd gets too much power...
