After investigating, all signs pointed to Remi. She had not given up after failing to achieve her goal at the
wedding.
But now that she had been caught, Nash was not going to let her get away with it. Remi was brought before him
and Nina, bound hand and foot. Her eyes seethed with rage as she glared at Nina, lying in bed with an IV in her
arm, wishing she could tear her to pieces. "We've cthis far, and you still haven't given up," Nina said with a
calm smile. "I know your feelings for Nash are real. Otherwise, why would you be so eager to becmy son's
stepmother?"
Remi had known Nash had a son, and it had not stopped her. She knew about the wedding, and still, she did not
back down. If that wasn't love, what was it?
Nina exchanged a glance with Nash, signaling her intentions. However, Nash did not trust Remi enough to leave
Nina alone with her.
Nina chuckled softly. "She's all tied up, and you're right outside the door. Plus, you've got your men here. What
could she possibly do to me?"
Every word Nina spoke addressed Nash's concerns without them having to exchange more than a look. The

thinking. It was something Remi could only envy, jealousy burning alongside her hatred.
If Nina had not reunited with Nash, he would have stayed in Salterra, taken over as president, and eventually
ended up with her.
She did not care about the child as she and Nash could have had their own. Besides, Dominic would have kept
Orion close. However, Nina had ruined it all.
She could not understand what kind of hold Nina had over Nash, making him so completely devoted to her, so
utterly captivated. And to make things worse, Nina had beceveryone's favorite, as if she were untouchable.
"We've cthis far, and you still haven't given up. What good would it do if | died? Do you think you'd make it
out of this city alive?" Nina's voice cut through Remi's silence.
Remi stayed quiet, unable to deny the truth. She had only wanted to teach Nina a lesson, but Nash had found
her so quickly.
If Nina died, Nash would never let her go and would demand her life in return. But unlike Nina, Remi had family
obligations. She could not afford to throw her life away so easily.
"I know all that," Remi finally replied,

nothing to brag about. Your bitterness won't change anything between Nash and me. The real question is, what
do you think you'll gain by being detained here in
Birkham?"
If Remi were detained in Birkham, it would inevitably involve both nations. The relevant authorities might
consider diplomatic repercussions and eventually deport her back to her country.
However, one thing was certain. She would never be allowed to set foot in Birkham again and would be
permanently exiled.
"I don't need your reminders, and you don't need to stand here acting all superior. Nina, the only reason you're «
with Nash is because you met him first!" Remi retorted.
