The Persian cat was round like a ball. It looked a little too well-fed, it was almost fat.

Pei Zhen was quite pleased to see it, but when the Persian cat walked up towards him for a kiss, he lightly swiped its face away.

Regretfully, the cat reminded Pei Zhen of the time that his soul occupied its body. If he were to kiss the cat, it would feel too much like kissing himself—it was weird and embarrassing.

The Persian cat meowed.

Its meow was truly helpless and weak.

“Keke.” Pei Zhen laughed and changed the topic. “Are you hungry? Want some cat food?”

Now that the Persian cat was just a cat, it wasn’t too fussy. It didn’t eat human food and didn’t jump onto the dining table. The moment Pei Zhen said ‘cat food’, its eyes shone and it looked at Pei Zhen happily.

Finally, the cat food that Fu Sichen bought previously went to good use.

Having lived in the serviced apartment for some time, Pei Zhen was familiar with where things were.

Leaving Xiao Nian to play with the cat, Pei Zhen poured out some cat food and then nestled himself on the sofa.

He flipped through the script.

The new show was an idol drama. Although self-proclaimed to have a meaningful and encouraging theme with young and vibrant energy, it was brainless. Pei Zhen obliged only for the sake of the director.

It was bad enough that he was sullying his own image by doing it, but he didn’t expect that Fu Sichen would join him in the madness.

As a producer on top of that…

The emotions he was feeling were complex, but Pei Zhen read on. He was trying to figure out how he was going to play the role of arrogant and overbearing, supposedly perfect, prince of the school.

The cutest boy in school.

Pei Zhen recalled when he was in the first year of high school, the cutest boy in school seemed to be Fu Sichen.

Xiao Nian had been playing with the cat for a while before a call from the agency came. He was called back to sign an agreement.

“Sure, General Manager Xu, I’ll come right away.”

On hanging up, Xiao Nian glanced at Pei Zhen who was sitting on the sofa.

Daddy Pei’s back was facing him, and he was sitting with a languid posture. Looking from Xiao Nian’s angle, he could see a corner of the script.

Xiao Nian assumed that Pei Zhen was focusing on reading the script, and he naturally lowered his voice. “Pei Pei, I have to make a trip back to the office.”

Pei Zhen acknowledged with a grunt, not really paying much attention, much like he was mumbling in a dream state.

Xiao Nian didn’t pay much attention and was even afraid to interrupt Daddy Pei’s focus. He shut the door quietly.

Not long after Xiao Nian left the apartment, Fu Sichen unexpectedly returned home. He was fortunate enough to see Pei Zhen, who had fallen asleep on the sofa.

Seeing its master, the Persian cat didn’t hide its happiness. However, before it could leap into Fu Sichen’s embrace, the latter knelt and pinched its mouth shut.

“Hush.”

Fu Sichen had never tip-toed so cautiously before.

Without a sound he walked around until he was standing before the sofa, then he lightly leaned against the cabinet and looked at the sleeping man with overflowing tenderness.

In his impression, the man never seemed to sleep enough.

He was like that a long time ago, and it hadn’t changed a bit.

His eyes were closed, his thick lashes cast a faint shadow on his pale face, and his lips were lightly pursed and beautifully arched. With one foot placed on the coffee table, he looked every bit arrogant.

So arrogant, but on the other hand it gave the impression that he was intelligent.

Fu Sichen froze and looked steadily at Pei Zhen for a while, and couldn’t help but smiled as he did so. He only moved when Pei Zhen unconsciously curled his fingers as if feeling cold.

Still cautiously light on his feet, he walked towards Pei Zhen, bent over, reached out, and held his hand.

Initially intending to establish physical contact for a moment, he eventually couldn’t bear to let go. He slid his fingers between Pei Zhen’s so that their fingers were intertwined.

It was a simple act, but Fu Sichen felt as though the warmth of the sun was penetrating him and it spread throughout his heart.
