It was all supposed to be a dream. A very bad one. But it wasn’t; it hadn't just been a dream. My hand shook as |
held the bottle.
“Add this to his drink.” Bailey's voice reechoed in my head.
| walked back into the room, staring at the glass of apple juice on the table. | hadn't asked the maid for it, and |
doubted Thane did either. Sending the maid here must have been a part of Bailey's plan-I realized.
Tears rolled down my eyes as my body acted on its own, pulling the bottle open. The harsh smell hurt my nose.
“No, no, you can't.” | said to myself, but still | found myself pouring the content into his cup. It had mixed so
nicely, one couldn't even tell.
Thane arrived home, and he paused to stare down at my choice of clothing, or rather, my choice of underwear.
“| like being welcomed like this.”
“You can have all of this, but first, joinfor a drink.” | said with a smile on my face. “It’s apple juice.”
He picked up his glass, and | stared at him as he lifted the glass to his lips. How do | give him a sign? How do |

My heart slammed fast in my chest, and just then the door to our room was pulled open, Axel walked in.
Thane placed the glass of apple juice back on the table.

“No, you are not.” | say immediately.

contact with the table. The glass cups along with every other thing on the floor fell to the ground. The apple juice

Thane didn’t return hthat night; | remained awake, waiting. | knew she would cto visit, and when |
heard the slight footsteps, | knew Bailey was here.
“Tellsgood news,” she said, leaning against the wall. | kept silent.
“I thought it had been a dream; how... how did you do it?”

“So | had actually been to the warehouse.”
“How else would | have passed the bottle of wolf's bane extract to you?”
“When | left this room, Thane should have noticed my absence.”
