Zou Yue tightly held her. "Trust me this once. I will not let you be lonely or sacred sister,"
Tian Ai peered into his eyes without any expression. "Hmm, let go. We should get going,"
"y—yes..." Yue blushed softly. "Sorry for hugging you without permission. Thank you for giving me a chance,"
he swiftly ran to the bed tore the sheets into long strips and helped tie it to her neck, her arms and her legs. "there you go,"
Tian just coldly peered at him.
Yue smiled at her and continues strapping himself up as well. The most vulnerable parts were the arms, legs and the neck. a zombie can easily bite or scratch these spots during a struggle. Like what happened with tian.
Plus the covering the arms with thick cloth makes it kind of a shield. if in case the zombie is too close and is about to bite you can use the thick padding on the arms as a type of muzzle letting those things bite in.
This gives him ample time to stab or cut its neck off.
'sadly I don't have any protective clothing here though.... tsk... skin contact with that blood is also dangerous,'
Xiao Yue and Tian Ai slowly moved through the corridor towards the stairwell. His plan was to move out of the hotel to one of the residential house nearby. Yue already scoped the location. It was close to the back door of the hotel and the inhabitants seemed to have turned.
They both walked past the room which was occupied by Murong Shao and his two bodyguards.
Yue paused for a second. He suddenly knocked.
The door opened instantly. Shao looked at him expectantly.
"Your powers, train it so that you won't be held back. Don't sacrifice yourself for others. Just grow strong enough that you don't have to give up your life to protect what you love,"
In his last life Murong Shao gave his life up heroically, saving ten thousand of life when the zombie hoards infiltrated the S city base.
Yue glanced at his genuinely caring eyes and nodded. "Remember those words carefully,"
Murong Shao looked confused. Even so, he whispered, "I will Xiao Yue." He tried to touch his head.
Yue moved back with a glare. "Didn't give you permission to touch." he stepped away, "save your grandma and come visit us at g city when you have time."
"Tian, here," Yue handed her one of his knifes. "Stab their head, not anywhere else. It's their head or the back of their necks, got it,"
She nodded, twirling the knife around. "I miss my guns..." she mumbled dryly.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Wait, why did I forget that? You have guns, right? Do you have some in your house? Oh silencers will be a great addition." he excitedly whispered back to her.
"Yes.... but my house is too far." She shook her head.
Yue sighed. "Fine, let's give up on the guns for now. After the hoards start moving, we shall take a bike and ride away," he mumbled.
Tian suddenly patted his back. "There is a stash in my office..."
Yue stopped in the corner of the corridor right before entering the stairwell. "Where?"
"The pizza place,"
"Sweet, let's go pick some up,"
They both ran down the stairs. This way leads directly to the lobby, which is facing the glass doors. There was no other way to approach it.
Yue slowly opened the door and peaked out.
The glass door surprisingly held its place. But there were spider line cracks all over.
"The door is not going to hold. Lest make a run for the kitchen. I saw a back staff entrance there,"
"Hmm.."
They both made a run for it.
Right then, the glass door cracked open. The zombies piled in like a bunch of hungry vermin.
"Fuck.." Yue ran to the kitchen door and pulled the knob. But to his surprise, it was locked. "Why now?"
With his elbow, he smashed it. The door itself blew up into two pieces.
"phew.. neat." Tian entered first.
Yue ran in after her whilst keeping a lookout for the zombies behind them.
It had been two days since and the zombies had gained enough strength to move with ease. They were all running towards them like bulls.
"go go go!" He pushed Tian, who was standing in front of her.
The zombies rushed after him, but they could not all squeeze through the small crack at the same time. The door won't hold back the zombies out any longer.
"Why aren't you moving?" He glanced over her shoulders to see a man holding a knife to her throat.
"g—get out.. Both of you.. get out. This... this is my place.. get out..." he trembled softly as he glanced at the zombie hoard.
"That door wouldn't have held them back. It's not safe.." Yue whispered.
The man's blown out pupils looked at him with a crazy look. "You broke it. You get out!! go out now or.. or I will kill her!!!!"
His agitated movements caused a small cut on her neck.
"you!!"
While the man was distracted talking to Yue, Tian griped his hands and twisted it behind his back. "Don't point that thing at me..." she pushed him towards the furthest corner. "We are leaving. I suggest you do too."
She jumped over the kitchen counters and ran to the exit.
Zou Yue rushed after her as well.
On his hind sight he saw the man frozen in shock. He was on his knees, hands cupped, and was praying loudly.
'Praying never helped.... a miracle never happens. I hope he realises that before he loses his life,'
They both ran out of the hotel into the small alleyway behind it. It connects two smaller roads to the street. It was a place where they bring in goods for restocking and throw out trash.
Usually, restaurants and hotels are stocked in the early morning. He had hoped to find a vehicle in the corner of the alleyway but that doesn't seem possible.
'The apocalypse happened midday the stocking vehicle might not have reached here.' He thought regretfully.
While he was deep in his thoughts, Tian confidently walked to the alleys opening.
But Yue pulled her back in and they both stuck to the walks like lizards. "Wait.." he slowly poked his head out. The zombies in the street were all frantically walking in the direction of the meteor crash. They were grouping and weird so it didn't look like a feeding behaviour.
He slightly went on his tippy toes to look at the situation. 'Weird..... I have never seen zombies behave this way,'
"Hey," Tian pulled at his frilly top. She gestured to the pickup truck nearby with its front door open.
They both ducked down and moved closer. Yue stood guard while she got in and checked the wheel.
Tian got down in a while, shaking her head. 'No keys,' she mouthed.
'Let's search for a bike' he mouthed to her.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe nodded showing the okay sign.
Yue knew how to hot-wire a car, but this truck was too huge to drive through the roads. The cars would have definitely stacked on the roads blocking every way.
Tian slowly moved in the other direction. But there was a zombie facing the other way. She swiftly slashed the back of the neck.
Yue quickly held the zombie's shirt and slowly laid it to the ground. "Quietly,"
He watched his sister move in a certain direction with determination.
Yue held the back of her coat. "The pizza place is this way.." he pointed to the other way,"
"Shortcut," she mouthed and gestured for him to follow. She strode to a small clinic nearby.
Zou Yue glanced inside the glass display door. Two zombies visibly moved inside.
He ran in and swiftly dealt the killing blow. He gestured for her to come in. When she walked in casually, he vigilantly pulled her down and they both hid behind a rack.
"The back door connects to the underground," she pointed to another rack.
Yue confusedly looked at her.
She shook her head and slowly walked to it. "It's behind." She mouthed.
He ran to the clinic entrance door and closed it. Sadly, this too was a glass display door. It won't hold if many zombies rush towards them. But this could somehow muffle the sounds they make.
Yue glanced at the huge rack. 'There is no way they can move this rack without making sound.'
But super strength was not that much of big deal. It was similar to speed, which is a physical power. In a few years all the other ability users will also develop strength and speed. It is an ability that is bound to get obsolete.
Yue gently placed the rack on the ground.
Tian glanced at him in awe. "Japan has done wonders." She opened the door behind it.
They both ran in.
It led down to a dark basement filled with the smell of weed and blood.
Yue cupped his nose.
Suddenly, Tian paused. She pulled him over to a corner and held her knife tightly. 'Someone is alive,' she mouthed.
He remembered coming in here. At least few men were unconscious.
