Chapter 972
lan sat nonchalantly at the head of the table, his fingers tapping lightly against the surface.
A minute later, he finally spoke.
“Dennis,” he began, “you’ve mortgaged all your properties and liquidated all your assets to buy a 20% share from
Mr. Haley. You’ve even borrowed from the bank. Now, how do you plan to pay it back?”
His eyes were filled with amusement as he glanced at the other members of the Raymond family.
The crowd that had been so boisterous just moments ago were now, one by one, shrinking back, avoiding his gaze.
Despite his seemingly casual look, to them, it felt as if he was brandishing a razor–sharp blade, the chilling coldness
almost freezing them solid.
The room was filled with tense expressions. They all glanced uneasily at each other, none daring to refute lan’s
words.
“No way! Absolutely no way! lah, you must have played dirty!”
Dennis, who had been meticulously planning for years, was on the verge of success when he was suddenly plunged
into a hellish abyss. He simply could not accept it.
lan, however, had no intention of indulging him, or anyone else for that matter.
“Dennis, the only thing you have left now is the 20% share you just bought. Now, you have two choices – sell these
shares to me at half the market price, which will allow you to pay off your debt to the bank, or I’ll crash the stock
value of the Raymond Corporation, making your shares worthless. Either way, it’s just a game to
me.”
The second option was insane, but everyone in the room believed lan would dare to do it.
Although it seemed like he was giving Dennis options, in reality, he was driving him into a corner.
Dennis had obtained his 20% share by mortgaging his own 30% share and paying twice the market price. Now, lan
wanted him to sell it for half the market price. The sheer loss would be in the billions.
He was left penniless, without any properties to his name…
“Ugh!” Dennis vomited blood on the spot and nearly fainted.
Upon seeing the bloodstain on the floor, lan’s brow furrowed. Mr. Haley immediately spoke up..
“Mr. Raymond is a clean freak, and you should’ve found somewhere else to vomit blood.”
His words were the final blow, causing Dennis to faint on the spot.

Pearson hurriedly helped him up, but he didn’t dare to look atlan..
He feared that if he angered lan, lan would take the second route, making their shares worthless.
That would leave them in a huge debt, unable to even pay off the interest. Their only option left would be to commit
suicide, wiping their debts clean with their deaths.
Pearson’s hands were shaking. He had always been jealous of lan, jealous of his casual demeanor, and jealous of
how lan, who was once nothing more than Eric’s shadow, could have such formidable strength.
He was filled with resentment, the taste of blood lingering in his mouth.
He helped a defeated Dennis up and limped away.
The other members of the Raymond family didn’t dare to leave, especially Maureen
She had already signed an agreement with Dennis. Now that Dennis had fallen, she had no shares in the Raymond
family, and they didn’t owe her a cent.
And just before lan entered the room, she was even trying to show her loyalty to Dennis.
She clenched her fists but couldn’t bring herself to say anything. Her lips trembled.
The other members of the Raymond family were just as shocked, sitting there in stunned silence.
The turn of events had been too sudden, too shocking.
In the midst of the silence, lan pointed at one of the executives.
This executive had been on his side. Since lan had entered the room, he had been beaming.
“Repeat what they just did in the room.”
The executive was more than ready. He had been tormented by those who had sided with Dennis these past few
days, and now, he finally had a chance to retaliate. He wouldn’t let this opportunity slip away.
“Sir.I’m afraid I alone can’t reenact all their performances. Because before you came in, everyone was putting on
quite a show.”
With those words, the fate of everyone in the Raymond family was sealed..
Chapter 973
lan chuckled, leaning back comfortably, “Really? Then I want to see you all act it out.”
The senior executive quickly rallied his beleaguered colleagues, and they all went into full acting mode, imitating
the triumphant postures of the others just moments before.
Some were clapping until their palms turned red.
Others were promising to send Maja to the Blue Sky Bar.
Some even said that lan deserved to go to jail!
lan’s face remained nonchalant throughout the performance. The others in the room felt as if they couldn’t lift their
heads, their bodies trembling.
The applause sounded more like a death knell than cheers of support.
Their faces had turned pale, and some had dropped to their knees on the cold floor.
“lan, we didn’t mean any of it.We were just manipulated by Dennis. We truly support you as the CEO of the
Raymond Corporation. There’s an investigation going on about Holden’s affairs, and since you’re not implicated, it
must be Dennis trying to frame you. We were all deceived by him.”
The man speaking was almost incoherent, desperate to clear his name from the incident.
But could he really do so?
lan’s faint smile turned frosty when he heard about the plan to send Maja to the Blue Sky Bar. His eyes narrowed
slightly.
“You might be a bit too late with these words.”
“lan, we are still your elders. Can you give us another chance?”
lan’s gaze turned cold, “From now on, you’ll have an allowance of two thousand dollars a month. If you exceed that,
you’re out of the Raymond family.”
He didn’t want to drive these people into a corner because he knew Holden was still around and didn’t want him to
be lonely in his old age.
And while these people might be fair–weather friends, some of them did manage to make Holden happy, as did
their children.
The entire Raymond family would become an empty shell if these people left.
Everyone’s faces lit up with joy. Sure, two thousand dollars was nothing compared to their monthly expenses of
hundreds of thousands, but the fact that lan was willing to let them go was a stroke of luck.
So they agreed quickly and left the Raymond Corporation as fast as they could, scared that lan might change his
mind.
Only Maureen stayed. She didn’t leave, just watched lan.
But lan didn’t look at her, and his eyes focused on the documents in front of him.

After a while, she finally said in a shaky voice, “At least remember that Ryan supported you.”
“Aunt Maureen, it’s too late for that.”
Maureen began to tremble, but she knew her pleas were useless. She left without another word.
Soon, only the senior executives of the Raymond Corporation remained in the conference room.
After dealing with the Raymond family, it was time to handle the senior executives of the Raymond Corporation.
Two–thirds of them supported lan, but one–third had defected. These were the spies the other members of the
Raymond family had planted in the company.
lan had been able to turn a blind eye before, but now he raised an eyebrow.
Before he could say anything, those who supported Dennis began to speak.
“Sir, we will submit our resignations immediately. We’ll never step foot in the Raymond Corporation again.”
“Mr. President, we won’t stay and bother you.”
“Yeah, the Raymond Corporation will do even better without us.”
Upon hearing this, those who supported lan couldn’t help but laugh.
But the others had to bear it, afraid they might say something to anger lan.
lan stood up without saying a word.
“Jeff, you handle it”
Jeff nodded, escorting lan to the door before returning to the room. He spoke to those who had sided with Dennis,
“You have one hour to submit your resignations The rest of you there’s an additional $300,000 in your year–end
bonus.”
Dennis had rewarded those who supported him with $100,000 bonus.
Now lan was adding $300,000.
The room erupted with cheers. Some even clapped and yelled, “No need for a farewell party, right? Safe travels,
everyone.
“Haha, yeah, safe travels.”
“We’ve been holding in our frustrations for a week. It feels so good to finally let it out, hahaha.”
Despite being over forty, the executives couldn’t help but feel the joy of a child getting candy Their turnaround had
them on cloud nine.
