The crowd went silent over Davis's words, unable to believe the words he had just uttered.
They wondered if he didn't understand who the Tyriel Family was and the might they possessed in the First Haven World. Although it was not comparable to the dragon or phoenix alliance, they knew that it was stronger than three major powers combined at the very least.
Their name was praised far and wide in the Northern Divide.
Most of the disciples here were not the significant individual of their powers, but Rea Tyriel was different, so for Davis Alstreim to offend the Tyriel Family's one and only Young Mistress, they couldn't help but think that he was crazy.
But different than the crowd, Rea Tyriel showed something else entirely.
Her indifferent expression couldn't help but turn into a bright smile as though she had finally found a challenge.
"You do show promise, indeed. Even true disciples in the top fifteen would not speak to me this way, much less act like threatening me."
Her tone was one of amusement, and her eyes also looked lively, as though she finally started treating him like a person of some worth.
"Young Miss Rea, I don't remember acting as if I really meant what I said. Although I might die, there's not even a minute chance you will survive."
Davis politely spoke as he smiled, causing Rea Tyriel to be taken aback while the others were dumbfounded.
Wasn't this practically threatening her?
On the other hand, Davis patted Sophie and Niera with his two hands, appearing fond of them as he continued.
"As you said, I'm a Divergent. Did you think common sense would apply to me?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Haha~ I like your confidence." Rea Tyriel lightly laughed, "You may be a powerful exception to the rule as you have beaten Niel Bladeheart, who's the rising star, but the top-ranking disciples of the Aurora Cloud Gate have killed evil Divergents in the past. It's a meritorious deed not only in the Aurora Cloud Gate but also every major power, so for you to easily offend someone is a given, but you should watch out for those you can't touch."
"I deeply agree, senior sister."
Davis nodded, causing Rea Tyriel to squint her fine brows. She appeared to think that Davis didn't listen properly as she moved her lips again.
"In the history of my Tyriel Family, the number of Divergents we have killed is in the hundreds, so for you to stand here and boast is good and all, but when it comes to reality, you will be quickly killed. Even if it's not me, I warn you to count your luck. Even if these two new brides die someday, there are still many waiting for you, and they are much more powerful than them from the looks of it. I simply don't understand your oath unless you're lying."
Davis couldn't help but blink as he heard a tinge of curiosity from Rea Tyriel's voice.
How come people were offended or suspicious of the oath he took to his new brides? He really couldn't understand what it had to do with them, nor did he have any iota of responsibility to prove himself to them.
"More than that, will you not display your strength? I'm tired of this conversation. I didn't come for this..."
Abruptly, a resounding grumble could be heard from a man.
Without even turning their heads, the gallery knew who this man was as they recognized him to be Waine Might of the Stone Race. His tall stature was not only his feature but also his deep voice that was immense and heavy as a mountain that it sometimes made their innards rumble.
But quickly, the person beside Waine Might chided him for interrupting the wedding.
"..."
Meanwhile, Davis also felt this was nonsensical. This was supposed to be his wedding and not a martial arena to test or compare prowess.
However, squinting his eyes, he couldn't help but smile at Niera and Sophie as he sent them a soul transmission.
"My two beauties, do you mind if I step out a bit?"
"Go ahead."
"It's still evening, after all."
Niera softly spoke while Sophie grinned with their sweet lips.
Davis silently cackled at Sophie, increasingly becoming hornier. He imagined that they had the same thought, wanting to make the night as hotter as it could possibly be.
As he stepped out, Niera and Sophie turned excited.
In the center of their residence was where the arena was built for the disciple to show off their prowess. It was a common spectacle in many festivities. But now, there appeared a crimson-robed man, standing on the cold floor as he looked at the crowd, spreading his hands.
"Anyone who wants to challenge me can step up."
"Haha! Finally, it's my turn."
Waine Might laughed boisterously before he took a step forward. However, he suddenly stopped as his big brown eyes squinted.
"Jei Sealan. Are you courting death!?"
A huge sonic wave spread across the area, causing many disciples to shut their ears, feeling like their eardrums would split apart from Waine Might's shout.
However, that person called Jei Sealan didn't even seem to care as he gazed straight at Davis, cupping his hands when suddenly a trident appeared in his grasp, which he twisted and flexed and pointed its three sharp ends at Davis.
"Jei Sealan of the Sea Race is here to challenge the Emperor of Death."
"A Level Nine Immortal..."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmDavis couldn't help but look at Jei Sealan's features... which were really not different from a human's. However, he knew that they could reveal their true form, where they would possess fish-like scales and a fish-like lower body. He learned this information over the past three days. That's why he also knew a few things about the Tyriel Family and the Northern Divide.
Everyone thought he was underestimating the Tyriel Family. However, Davis didn't think that way because he was still confident enough to cause a massacre with Fallen Heaven before he died. It had nothing to do with his odds but his searing intent to not let anyone dear to him die.
"Obviously, I'll suppress my cultivation base to make this almost fair."
Looking at Davis remain steady in his place, not making a battle posture, Jei Sealan couldn't help but remind.
Davis lightly nodded. After all, prowess was one thing, but the comprehensions learned at higher levels still added onto sealed cultivation bases, which made them more powerful when they were originally at that particular lower level.
He could see the other party had perfectly kept their cultivation base from leaking out of their body, appearing steady as a calm lake, just waiting to burst forth from internal pressure. Feeling an intense pressure as vast as the ocean fall on him, Davis knew the other party was an absolute genius of the Sea Rave. However, he raised his hand and gestured.
"You can start."
"Then here I come."
*Boom!~*
With a burst of his leg as though flapping his tail like a fish, Jei Sealan dashed forward with an extreme speed, almost appearing before Davis. However, Davis's hand that was already pointed above abruptly flashed.
*Bang!~*
A bolt of terrifying lightning struck him on his head from above, causing him to come to a stop. He trembled before falling fall to his knees, his expression turning unsightly as he raised his head to look at Davis, his eyes full of disbelief as he saw black-silver lightning crackling all over his body, and that same energy had managed to pierce his defenses, and wreak havoc in his body.
"So this is the might of the rumored destructive heavenly lightning I've heard about."
Jei Sealan's lips shuddered, causing the disciples who were watching them to look absolutely dumbfounded.
It had to be known that Jei Sealan was ranked twenty-second in the True Disciple Rankings and could easily defeat anyone within the same cultivation base as he was playing with them, but now, he didn't even have a chance to display his powers before he was brought to his knees?
Just how was that possible!?
