3245 Returning To The First Haven World
"…"
Davis inwardly cursed the heavens again. Even though he speculated that Immortal Emperors would be blocked, and it was pretty obvious from the start, he took it out on the heavens because that was how repressed he felt right now, especially with his instincts telling him the path of realm concoction was highly dangerous to cross even thought it could be just his imagination.
A few seconds later, he calmed.
He could only think that this was a good thing. After all, he learned this now as he came here earlier. If he appeared later and realized there was no way to take Calypsea back in an emergency, he would have no choice but to leave her, which he didn't know if he could do it, considering he was already fond of her.
Perhaps there was some way to take Calypsea with him, making him want to find that way out. For example, forming a spirit pact with Calypsea could help, so he would want Lea to try it. However, Calypsea was still too hot and did not have full control over her energy, which meant she could accidentally burn Lea to death if she were inside Lea's soul sea.
Forming a pact would be simple, but to get past the spatial vortex, Calypsea might need to enter Lea's soul sea, and he wasn't willing to risk it unless that was the last means given to him, even if it were for the slightest few seconds.
But the one he could think of the most would be-
Davis flew into the skies. He flicked his sleeve and displayed his palm to his people as though telling them to stay here. He rose thousands of meters into the sky, rising past the crimson clouds, the world around him turning into one of apocalyptic red.
It was like he entered a skyscape from hell.
Nonetheless, he straightened his wrist and drew a circle with his palm, forming a sound barrier with his energy.
This sound barrier should be able to stop others from hearing him but as for the one he was going to talk to…
"Hear me out, World Master of the First Haven World. I know you're out there, but you don't have to talk to me. You don't have to answer me. I just need you to listen to me."
Davis spoke in a firm tone, his gaze straight into the distance.
He didn't appear to fear anything, even wondering if the World Master was that mysterious black-robed woman who barred him from moving forward, but he imagined the chances of that were less.
"Right now, I haven't tested if the Apocalyptic Flame Spirit could enter or not. Although she is an Immortal Emperor level existence, she is a spirit, and I know you make special concessions when it comes to spirits and plants when it comes to ascension, so I imagine that it could be the same for what I'm going to ask. As long as you can allow Calypsea to enter, I will be in your debt along with the other debts I may have incurred without knowing."
Davis went silent, expecting a response. He waited for a while.
"You honestly expect me to let an incarnation of pure destruction into my world?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAn amused voice echoed out.
However, Davis still wore an indifferent expression. It could be seen that he was unable to hear those words, but eventually, he opened his mouth.
"Of course, I know what I'm asking for. There's no way you would let the Apocalyptic Flame Spirit enter your world, as it could meet the same end as this realm. However, Calypsea is an understanding spirit. Although she's hungry all the time, I'll make sure to keep her in check. All I ask is that your majestic self make a concession for me. I don't ask for anything else as I will eventually leave your world, taking Calypsea along with me."
Davis said his piece and inwardly heaved out a sigh.
His tensed muscles relaxed, "That's all. Do as you please."
Davis dived down after finishing his speech, not waiting for any response.
The World Master looked at him leave before they raised their head up and looked at the skies above.
There were thousands of Immortal Emperors and tens of Empyreans. Their initial response to them taking over the realm was met with failure. They even tried to build a realm-wide formation but failed to do so with the tumultuous undulations from the burning realm, but they didn't go as far as to destroy the sealing formation placed on the world, appearing to still want to bank on the realm concoction to succeed.
However, the World Master saw that there were also two Empyreans at the peak who could bring some trouble to them, not wanting to fight because it may bring them extreme notoriety.
"Perhaps… this is for the best."
The World Master uttered, their gaze unsure as even they could tell that losing the realm pill was a pity. But for some reason, they didn't even feel a hint of greed for that supreme treasure, not even deigning to give it another glance as they waved their hand ever so lightly.
Davis appeared before his people.
"Lest Mistwalker, how about you escape with this band of free people? You'll be able to leave with them in case even if your elders rain from above."
Lest Mistwalker wryly smiled.
"With all due respect, I think I'll get eaten and turn into shit before I even leave the realm."
"With all due respect, you are not even powerful to become our shit." The Pelagic Serenity Turtle piped in, her expression all-knowing.
"…"
Lest Mistwalker didn't know what to say to that, but at this moment, his pupils dilated as he saw the Wind Phoenix reach out her hand again, but this time, it merely distorted the image of her hand and didn't cause it to explode.
The others were also stunned while Davis's lips parted a bit.
Did the World Master actually listen to him?
'It can't be…' Davis thought as he didn't ask to let the magical beast prisoners in, but the Wind Phoenix clearly could enter.
Perhaps it was just a one-time free pass, causing him to narrow his eyes.
"The first one to enter will be Calypsea."
"Lea, go with her." At the same time, he sent Lea a soul transmission.
Lea nodded and grabbed Calypsea's small hand. She walked the little spirit towards the spatial vortex, entering it without bothering to stop.
Calypsea slowed down a bit when she was just a step away from the spatial vortex, but with Lea leading her, she tightly held the other's hand and crossed the spatial vortex.
The Wind Phoenix saw the Apocalyptic Flame Essence actually enter, turning her gaze to Davis as she looked at him with wide eyes.
"Your ability to cause my soul to shatter or my wing that could slice through even the densest mountains. I wonder which is the fastest."
"Why don't you try it instead of declaring it like a good girl?"
Davis didn't even look at the Wind Phoenix, "You're next."
The Wind Phoenix stared at him, her lips curling into a challenging smile, "I like you."
She turned around and swung her arm at the spatial vortex.
*Bang!~*
This time, her other hand exploded, leaving her with both arms destroyed, although the arm that was first destroyed was already healed up to the palm, leaving only the fingers to regenerate.
"Ah-ah~"
A sigh of disappointment escaped the Wind Phoenix's mouth before she turned to look at him again.
"You really did do something to this spatial vortex when you flew into the skies, didn't you?"
"Who knows? All I did was make a plea at the empty skies, and it seems my luck is truly high…"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmDavis shrugged, but inwardly, he was shaken as he knew he could've missed the opportunity if he let the Wind Phoenix enter. He now understood why the World Master decided to only offer a free pass to one Immortal Emperor existence was because they didn't decide who entered, putting them in the position of not helping Calypsea or him but merely a whim, leading them to have less karmic burden if he wasn't wrong.
Nonetheless, he nodded his head up at his people, indicating them to leave.
The others also quickly left without looking back, their speed truly swift as though they feared they might get slashed over their backs. Finally, Myria looked at him one last time before she also stepped into the spatial vortex, leaving behind only him, Nadia, and Eldia.
The two of them were, of course, in his soul sea, so right now, he was facing the Wind Phoenix and the Pelagic Serenity Turtle.
"Come out, you all. There's no need to hide anymore." The Pelagic Serenity Turtle uttered.
Simultaneously, ten other beings manifested around them.
Davis, of course, knew these magical beast prisoners were following him the whole time. Perhaps they wanted to see what was going on or try their luck, but either way, Davis didn't care.
"Lest Mistwalker is a superior formation expert. You may all need him for your survival, so use him to your advantage."
He put in a word for Lest Mistwalker, who was absolutely shivering, wanting to run into the spatial vortex any moment now.
However, the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit appeared beside him and patted his shoulder.
"Worry not, for I will take care of him for the time being."
"Indeed, he must know the way around many realms or cities after so many years have passed, proving to be useful…" The Phantom Gaze Cobra nodded.
"You…" The Variant Dark Dragon stared at Davis, a complicated light gleaming in his eyes, "I want to rip your throat and drink your blood for the humiliation I suffered, but I will reluctantly let you go this time around. Will I see you again?"
"Hopefully, yes."
Davis nodded before he panned his gaze, "You're all restricted by your bloodline, forced to stay in the Immortal Emperor Stage for the rest of your lives. But, if you all behave and try to be good from here on out, I might be able to change that in the future."
"…!"
The twelve magical beast prisoners' eyes went wide as thousands of questions revolved in their heads.
But within that tiny interval, Davis sneaked into the spatial vortex. However, he was only halfway through, his image heavily distorted, although they could see him extend his hand out towards them and snap his finger.
"With this, your Wills are truly free."
"!!!"
The eleven magical beast prisoners felt their souls shudder.
The Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit narrowed her eyes and saw that he didn't kill them but released them all from his bind. After he left, the spatial vortex even began to close, causing them to be stupefied.
At that moment, they realized that this wasn't a crack in space but was truly controlled by someone, causing them to momentarily retreat from the area.
