Chapter 277 Natalia was puzzled by his words, but she really had no intention of wearing it anyway.

The item looked incredibly expensive at a glance. What if she damaged it or lost it? She'd be devastated, wouldn't she? By afternoon, they were on their way back to Maplewood Town.

Stepping out of the airport, Hamilton grabbed Natalia's hand and led her to the car.

"Home?" Natalia shook her head, "I'd like to visit my mom at the hospital." Tatiana Joyner's condition had stabilized somewhat after being moved out of the ICU.

She had been too caught up in her travels lately to take proper care of her mom. Now that she had sfree time, she wanted to spend more of it with her.

Hamilton nodded and drove straight to the hospital.

Arriving at the hospital, Natalia glanced at him.

"Cin with me, will you?" Hamilton paused, even though he had indeed planned to follow her in.

But hearing it from Natalia meant something entirely different to him.

She wanted to introduce him to Tatiana as her boyfriend.

Hamilton's breathing becslightly heavier. He cover and wrapped his arms around Natalia's waist, lifting her onto his lap.

"Ms. Jenkins, are you takingto meet the parents?" Natalia chuckled, her nose tingling slightly with emotion.

Today, while at the Spiegel family's home, she couldn't help but think of Tatiana.

She thought it was about tshe brought Hamilton to meet Tatiana.

No matter what the future held for her and Hamilton, at least Tatiana would know she had someone to rely on.

She smiled and nodded, "Would you like that?" Hamilton gulped, taking a moment before he murmured, "I'd crawl there on my knees if I had to." Natalia laughed and gently pushed him away.

She tried to discreetly wipe away a tear, but Hamilton leaned in and kissed the corner of her eye.

"Don't worry, you've gotnow." Natalia couldn't hold back her tears any longer.

Hamilton gently kissed away her tears, whispering comforting words in her ear.

It took Natalia a while to calm down.

They got out of the car and headed towards the hospital ward when they ran into Scarlett, who was furiously storming in from outside.

Natalia was taken aback and quickly grabbed Scarlett.

"Scarlett, what's wrong?" Scarlett was fuming.

"I'm going to kill that jerk Elliott!" Holding a scalpel, she was about to charge upstairs.

Natalia quickly held her back.

Scarlett could be quite impulsive when angry.

She tried to calm Scarlett down, "Don't rush, tell me, what did Elliott do now?" Scarlett was so angry she was pale, "It's all his fault, he must have bad-mouthedto the dean. I got to the hospital this morning, and the dean calledinto his office, tellingto resign! I heard speople say they saw Elliott entering the dean's office. That lunatic, he must be mad because I said he was incompetent. And he is! But he doesn't want anyone saying it!" Natalia frowned, "Elliott did that?" Scarlett snorted, "He was never a good guy. How could anyone who was friends with Hamilton and Eveleen be good?" Natalia glanced at Hamilton, who twitched the corner of his mouth.

"Dr. Scarlett, could you please mind your words? How does being friends withautomatically make someone bad?" Scarlett scoffed, "What? You think because Natalia forgave you, we've forgotten all the crap you've pulled? Hamilton, in my eyes, you'll always be the dog that hurt Natalia! You can never redeem yourself for those sins!" After saying her piece, Scarlett stormed off into the elevator.

Natalia hurried after her.

Hamilton's expression darkened, but he said nothing more.

He knew he hadn't made amends for his past actions towards Natalia; he admitted that much.

He was just grateful that Natalia had given him a chance to make things right.

The elevator ascended.

Reaching the top floor, Hamilton murmured, "Elliott doesn't have an office here, but he often hangs out in Baxter Lehner's office, Room 1602." Natalia frowned at him.

Hamilton leaned against the wall, his expression indifferent. "Elliott's actions are indeed despicable. He deserves a beating." Scarlett huffed, "Surprising to hear a sensible word from you." The elevator doors opened, and Scarlett charged towards the office.

Natalia, worried Scarlett might do something rash, quickly followed et trying to persuade her, "Scarlett, we can argue, but let's not use the scalpel. That's illegal." Natalia tried to take the dangerously sharp scalpel from Scarlett's hand. Hamilton, however, grabbed her hand firmly.

"Baxter's there. It'll be fine." Natalia shot him a look and followed Scarlett.

Elliott was lounging in Baxter's office, seemingly at ease.

Baxter looked at him, "You've been scarce around the hospitalLost interest in those female doctors, or is it that you're really impotent?" Elliott smirked, "I've been busy dealing with a crazy woman. Once I've had my revenge, I'll be back." Baxter laughed, just as the office door burst open.

Scarlett stormed in, heading straight for Elliott.

Elliott was taken aback, nearly falling off his chair.

"Scarlett, what are you doing here?" "I'm here for your life!" Scarlett's scalpel aimed straight for Elliott's groin.

Elliott was taken aback. "Scarlett, hit it and quit it, huh?" "I hit what now, Elliott? Was it you who gotsacked?" Elliott's eyes widened, and he quickly grabbed her wrist. "You got fired from the hospital?" "No duh, why else would I be here?" Elliott couldn't help but laugh. "Well, Dr. Chappelle sure doesn't waste any time."

Scarlett's face turned a shade of red in anger. "So it was you, you ever man up for lott! Can't once! Just because I called you out, you getfired?" But Elliott pulled Scarlett along to Baxter.

"Baxter, our hospital's maternity ward is short-staffed, right? Theard the pay is triple what the central hospital offers?" Baxter paused for a moment.

Baxter cleared his throat, "Yes, triple the central hospital's pay, and no on-call shifts." Elliott raised his eyebrows at Scarlett. "What do you say? Interested?" Scarlett gritted her teeth.

Although she was bummed about not seeing Emeric anymore, the triple pay and on-call shifts were too good to pass up. She shook off Elliott's hand and turned to Baxter.

"Thank you, Mr. Lehner." Baxter nodded.

Scarlett turned and walked out.

Elliott hurried after her.

"Don't I get a thank you?" Scarlett glanced back at him. "Thank you for what? Gettingfired?" Elliott paused, realizing she had a point.

Natalia was relieved to see they didn't actually cto blows.

She guided Scarlett towards Tatiana's room.

Hamilton nodded to Baxter and followed them.

Elliott bounced after them.

Baxter chuckled to himself from behind.

His brother, always stirring the pot.

Scarlett stayed a while before she had to leave.

Elliott, like a puppy, followed her out.

Tatiana's condition was still dire.

Seeing the person lying on the bed, Natalia's heart ached.

Hamilton went over, holding her hand, and whispered to Tatiana, "I promise to always protect Natalia." Natalia, fighting back her sadness, held Hamilton's hand tightly.
