Chapter 281 Hamilton's body stiffened slightly.

Natalia, who was dishing out dinner, also paused abruptly.

The housekeeper couldn't hide her smile as she watched the couple's affectionate display. Her gaze fell on Natalia's hands, and she winked at her.

Natalia forced a smile, breaking free from Hamilton to take the bowl from the housekeeper. "Suddenly, I'm craving sspicy and sour fries. Could you makesome?" Natalia asked.

The housekeeper chuckled and agreed.

Hamilton listened quietly to Alden on the other end of the phone.

"Eveleen's been trying to reach you non-stop, making a scene now. She says she wants nothing but for you to let Patrick go," Alden relayed. Hamilton, looking at Natalia, said in a deep voice, "Let her make a scene. Don't bother with her." He hung up and approached Natalia, wrapping her in his arms once again.

"Does your stomach still hurt?" "It's fine," Natalia replied while setting the table.

Hamilton held her hand. "Craving spicy and sour fries all of a sudden? Didn't you always dislike spicy and sour foods?" Natalia glanced at him. "Maybe it's because I'm feeling a bit bitter, so I thought I'd fight fire with fire." Hamilton was taken aback, not expecting such a response.

He chuckled, his deep voice sending shivers down Natalia's spine.

Natalia tried to push him away, but he held her even tighter.

"You heard how I replied to him. No need to be jealous." Natalia turned to face him, asking bluntly, "Hamilton, can you truly put Eveleen behind you forever?" She looked at him seriously. "I've asked you this before, but today is different. Since you've proposed, it means we're heading towards marriage. If we do get married, I don't want Eveleen's shadow in our lives, not even a little." Hamilton looked at Natalia for a long while before responding.

"Okay, I won't bother with her." Natalia watched him. "You said it. If you... if you..." "No ifs. Don't worry, Natalia. I mean what I say," Hamilton assured her with a smile, pressing her against the dining table.

The tableware clinked loudly.

Natalia quickly exclaimed, "The housekeeper's still here!" Hamilton bit her lip lightly. "It's fine, the housekeeper knows when to stay away." However, just as Hamilton finished speaking, the housekeeper emerged from the kitchen with a plate of fries.

"Ms. Jenkins, I didn't realize you were " She stopped abruptly upon seeing them.

Natalia quickly pushed Hamilton away and took the plate of fries from the housekeeper.

"Thank you." The housekeeper smiled and hurried back to the kitchen.

Natalia glared at Hamilton before taking the fries to the table.

But Hamilton shamelessly added, "The housekeeper will need to get used to it. Who knows, this might happen every day." Natalia's cheeks flushed instantly.

After dinner, Hamilton drove Natalia to the hospital.

Before she got out of the car, Hamilton held her hand. "I'll pick you up after work. I've made an appointment with a naturopath for tonight." Natalia nodded, hesitating before pulling a small box from her bag.

"This is for you. It's late, but I did get it for you. I lied to you before," Natalia explained, handing him the box before attempting to leave the car. Hamilton caught her hand.

He kissed her softly, his breath heavy, and hoarsely said as he handed the box back to her.

"Put it on for me." Natalia laughed, opening the box to reveal a set of prayer beads.

"You'd think it was a ring with all this fuss. Was that really necessary?" Hamilton bit her ear gently.

"Do you know how long I've been waiting for these prayer beads?" Hamilton knew, despite Natalia agreeing to give their relationship another try and accepting his proposal, she still had reservations.

It was about the past and about the child.

He didn't dare hope for her to feel the sas before; he just wanted her to accept his affection.

But now, at this moment, he finally felt her trying to move towards him.

Natalia, touched by his words, bit his chin lightly.

"Wear it well, and when people ask, make sure you say it's from your fiancée!" Hamilton looked at her, suddenly flipping over to press her down. "What to do? I don't want to go to work now, I want to-" Natalia, blushing, quickly covered his mouth.

"Go to work!" With a laugh, she pushed him away and walked towards the hospital.

Hamilton watched her go, his eyes filled with laughter.

After Hamilton left, Mason, who had been watching from another car in the parking lot, frowned slightly.

He picked up his phone and called Westley.

"Westley, fancy a cup of coffee? Great, I'll cto you." As Natalia entered the building, Debby mentioned, "Ms. Jenkins, Mr. Joyner stopped by earlier, wanting to visit your mother. I was about to call you, but he then said it wasn't necessary." "Mr. Joyner? How old is he?" "Probably in his fifties." Natalia's lips tightened, and after a moment, she nodded.

"I see." She hadn't seen Mason in a while.

Her suspicions about him had faded after she left her job smoothly.

Yet, unexpectedly, he had shown up again today.

"Did he say anything else?" The nanny shook her head, "I was planning to visit your mom before but after the incident, I happened to pass by today and thought I'd stop by Natalia nodded silently, her mind racing whether to return Mason's call when Scarlett's call cthrough.

"Natalia, did Hamilton, that jerk, really propose to you?" Natalia paused, "How did you know?"

Scarlett clicked her tongue, "Didn't you see? Last night, Ivy Gemstone's Instagram posted a photo." Natalia frowned and quickly opened Ivy Gemstone's Instagram.

The first post popped up.

Only The caption was incredibly simple, just one line.

"Congrats boss, she said yes." The photo was of Hamilton and her, hands intertwined.

The pink diamond ring sparkled brilliantly.

Natalia stared at the photo, at a loss for words.

The photo must have been taken after she fell asleep last night.

A smile tugged at Natalia's lips as she glanced at the ring on her finger.

This ring was a new release from Ivy Gemstone just a couple of days ago. Named Only.

She had been wondering why Ivy Gemstone would release a newm product at this tof year, especially a limited edition with just one piece. Little did she know, it was Hamilton's choice for a proposal.

Her fingers gently caressed the diamond ring, filling her heart with warmth at the moment.

Meanwhile, Delilah, staring at the photo on Instagram, was so furious she almost choked.

She grabbed her phone and made a call.

"Show that Ivy Gemstone Instagram post to that loser!" Natalia stayed at the hospital until nightfall.

She was about to call Hamilton.

But just then, Hamilton's call cin.

"Are you on your way? I'm waiting downstairs." Natalia smiled softly, whispering back.

After a pause, Hamilton replied.

"Natalia, I've sent Killian to pick you up. There's a bit of a situation with the business in Frendland, I need to make a trip."
