"Well, well... Looks like I'm not late after all..."

As the words echoed inside the classroom, students who were momentarily surprised by the sudden action started regaining their composure.

The eccentric teacher in front of them had a smile on his face as he looked like he was enjoying the attention he was getting.

"Instructor Cernais, what are you doing?" A girl asked, not being able to hold her words, and in a way, it made sense since who would enter while using the window to the class, right? Especially if he was an instructor.

"Hmm? What is wrong?" However, the man in the subject just simply smiled innocently like he did nothing wrong as he looked into the girl's eyes.

"Ha! What do you mean by what is wrong? You just broke the windows of the classroom. Will you take responsibility for your actions?" Just as the girl was about to complain more, Cernais raised his hand as he gestured for everyone to calm down.

"What do you mean I broke the window of the classroom?" As he spoke, his eyes turned around the window. "Nothing is wrong here?"

Hearing his questioning tone, the students' eyes turned toward the window as well. Only to find it intact, undisturbed by any signs of damage. It was just as it was before the teacher entered the classroom.

"What?" The girl asked unable to process the information that she had seen. "The window…."

And it wasn't just that one girl; the entire classroom was filled with surprise. The murmurs of "What?" and "How?" echoed throughout the room, reflecting the astonishment shared by the students.

Sensing the need to regain control, Cernais's mischievous smile transformed into a more serious expression.

/CLAP/

With a single clap of his hands, he commanded the attention of the class once again. "Now, please calm down," his voice resonated, effectively quelling the chaos that had ensued after his dramatic entrance.

The students turned their focus back to him, momentarily forgetting their initial surprise.

'He truly is a skilled teacher,' Callius silently acknowledged, impressed by Cernais' ability to manage the classroom and captivate the students' attention. 'Now, he will tie this incident to today's topic,' Callius predicted, his mind analyzing the teacher's approach. 'It was his aim from the start after all.'

"Magic and affinity," As he spoke those three words Cernais began, projecting the words on the board behind him in the form of a visual representation. "When we discuss elemental magic, our first consideration is often our affinity, as it largely determines the path we take."

He continued his lecture, pointing to the fire mana symbol displayed on the board. "For example, if you possess an affinity for fire, it is logical to focus on offensive spells with potent combustion capabilities. Water magicians, on the other hand, prioritize versatility, being adept at both defense and offense. Wind magicians emphasize mobility, while earth magicians prioritize resilience." Providing the general answer, Cernais locked eyes with his students.

"But have you ever wondered why we associate certain attributes with specific elements? Why do we assume that fire mages excel in the offense?" he posed the question to the class.

Several hands shot up, eager to participate. "Student Elia," Cernais acknowledged one of the students.

"Because fire is a form of energy that can cause damage and destruction," Elia replied confidently, her voice laced with certainty. From her answer alone it was like she can't be wrong.

"You are not wrong, but that is not the answer I am seeking," Cernais countered, his eyes fixed on Elia. He proceeded to pose another question, challenging her previous answer. "Why do you believe the fire is exclusively associated with damage and destruction?" Elia's confidence wavered as she grappled with providing a suitable response to the unexpected inquiry.

"Umm…. Because…." She struggled to give an answer as she was not expecting such a question to arise.

'If you only memorize the answers, you will lose your ability to think and reach conclusions.' Callius thought as he looked into the struggling girl.I think you should take a look at

"Do you have an answer, student Callius?" Though that didn't pass the eyes of the instructor as he instantly drew the whole attention to him.

"Fire is often associated with destruction as it has the ability to cause pain and burns when approached. This is commonly observed in our daily lives, which reinforces the belief that fire is destructive." Callius spoke while thinking, 'This is the answer you want to hear, isn't it?'

"Yes, that is correct." As Callius gave the answer, Cernais nodded his head in response. "The reason why we associate fire with combustion is because this is what we always observe. Because we associate the magic with the things we see in our life, basically our visual interpretation of the real world." The moment he spoke those words, the visual behind him changed.

"Elements and Magic," Cernais emphasized, drawing attention to the words projected on the board. "Now, let me pose another question. Why did the classroom window return to its original state after I seemingly shattered it?"

"Because of magic?" A random student answered.

'No, shit Sherlock.' Callius resisted the urge to express his sarcastic thoughts, knowing that only one other person in the room could comprehend the truth, and that would put him in a disadvantageous position.

"Yes, because of magic. But, have you ever heard about Glass Magic affinity before?" Hearing the question Cernais asked, the students shook their heads.

"No, right? Because there is no such a thing." He smiled as he knew he had got the main point of the class. "Then, a question should arise at this point, right?"

"How did you move glasses?" As Aliya asked this, she spoke with realization.

"Exactly," Cernais answered. "How did I do it without having the affinity of glasses?"

With open arms, he gestured expansively. "This is precisely what we will explore today. As you already know, I possess earth element affinity, one of the four major elemental affinities. This should provide you with a clue regarding my ability."

"The presence of earth elements within the glass," a student ventured, catching onto the connection.

"Indeed," Cernais acknowledged. "Now that we have established this allow me to introduce today's topic."

"The Four Major Elements and their Hidden Potentials: Exploring Derivative Magic."

And so, the class proceeded with the students captivated by their teacher's words, their attention fully engaged.
