play in the garden.
Mrs. James led Kya to the banquet hall, where it was filled with high society ladies. The young ones were either at

She sat down with Kya in her lap and got her some desserts. The other ladies also took a liking to this well-behaved
girl and kept giving her food to play with.

was always cautious and wouldn’t have a child out of wedlock. Secondly, Kya looked at least two, Charlie couldn’t
have had a child and kept it from her for two years.
