impulsive.”
“How do you expect us to stay calm?” Jonathan asked. “I can’t think of a way. Come on, tell me!”
Estelle, caught off guard, let out a soft giggle, cradling his face and leaning in for another peck, “I’m
sorry. Tell them I’m safe, and they shouldn’t worry.”
“Message already sent!” Jonathan’s tone was a blend of indulgence.
“It’s so good to have you!”
Her voice was gentle, and as she spoke, she saw the intensity in his eyes deepen. Hurriedly, she
wriggled out of his embrace.
“I really must go now!”
If she didn’t leave right this moment, she not be able to leave at all.
Jonathan accompanied her downstairs where Sylvia rose from the couch to greet them with a soft,
welcoming smile. “You two could stay a bit longer!”
“No, I really should be heading back!” Estelle smiled warmly. “Thank you, though!”
Sylvia raised her eyebrows slightly, “The pleasure is all mine!”
Perhaps because Jonathan had shared Sylvia’s identity, Estelle felt a sense of kinship towards the
