Robin was genuinely tempted at the time, nearly said yes on the spot. But after cooling his heels, he thought about the heavy hitters behind Estelle—the likes of Old Mr. Quintin, Old Mr. Jarvis, and the whispers about the Lamonts discussing Estelle’s and Jonathan’s impending nuptials. He didn’t dare to pick sides hastily. Looking back, he played his cards just right! He was eager to defend himself, and despite his careful words, he let something slip. Mr. Jarvis looked up with a gaze that bore right into Robin before turning to pour stea.
Jonathan regarded him with a faint smile, “Thanks a lot, Mr. Ziegler!” “Mr. Lamont, no need for thanks. Sophia and Estelle are tight, and that makes us all friends!” Robin returned with a warm smile. Jonathan nodded just as his phone rang, cutting the conversation short. Sophia left Robin and Jonathan to chat and went off to find Estelle. Around ten, Jonathan got a call from Jason. B City was all sorted! Jonathan returned to the living room to share the news with Old Mr. Jarvis, telling them they could all turn in for the night. Old Mr. Quintin was adamant about heading home, and Old Mr. Jarvis, of course, left with him. The Lamonts tried to persuade them to stay without success and arranged a ride back to the Quintin estate. Sophia and Robin went along. Estelle stayed with the Lamonts, and Evelyn, as her friend, also remained. Gabriel dropped Xavier off at his barbecue restaurant before heading to Old Mr. Quintin’s place. Carson drove Marina home. Mrs. Sampson had been on the phone non- stop, checking in on Magdalen, who eventually headed back to the Sampsons with Morrison, assuring them everything was under control. As the group said their goodbyes at the Lamonts, Magdalen’s eyes sparkled as she hugged Estelle, saying, “I won't be sleeping tonight. Can't wait to see the Crawleys’ downfall tomorrow, and of course, the Macclains’ as well!” “Better get ssleep anyway. Their fate isn’t going anywhere,” Estelle laughed. “I want to be the first to know!” Magdalen was about to pat Estelle’s shoulder excitedly when Jonathan suddenly approached, “Ms. Sampson!” Estelle turned, and Jonathan paused before speaking in a calm voice, “Mr. Langston is waiting for you. You should head back.” Estelle had kept her injury a secret from Old Mr. Jarvis and hadn’t mentioned it to Magdalen’s group either. Thinking Jonathan was eager to whisk Estelle away to their room, Magdalen waved goodbye with a chuckle, “Then off | go. See you tomorrow!” “Drive safe!” Once the guests had departed, Catherine instructed the staff to prepare a guest room for Evelyn. Evelyn had heard of the Lamonts back in Azeroth City and never imagined she’d be staying with them. Naturally, she was a bit nervous.
Estelle told her not to worry and to get srest. After settling Evelyn in and closing the door, Estelle ran into Catherine in the hallway, who seemed to have been waiting for her. “Estelle,” Catherine hadn't seen Estelle in a long while and had plenty she wanted to say. She had barely started when Jonathan's voice cfrom behind, “Mom!” Catherine turned, her exasperation palpable as she sighed, “Have you installed a radar on me? Every t| get close to Estelle, you pop up. What, you think I'm gonna kidnap her or something?”
