a bit. He had to lay her on the floor.
Evelyn had fainted, and Grace didn’t know the full situation. Seeing her disheveled appearance and
feeling frightened, she hurriedly pinched the point a little bit over her upper lip, “Evelyn, wake up! Don’t
scare me!”
She continued calling out to her, fearing for her safety. She repeatedly checked her breath and pulse,
relieved that although she was unconscious, her vital signs were still present.
However, in the middle of the night, just when Evelyn was about to call emergency services, Evelyn
slowly opened her eyes.
Immediately, Grace lowered her head to check on Evelyn’s condition, “What happened to you? You
fainted earlier. Are you feeling unwell? I should call for medical assistance now!”
“I’m… I’m fine.” Evelyn struggled to hold on to Grace’s phone. “I’m just a little tired. I drank too much.
Grace, please help me to the bedroom.”
“Can you sleep like this?” Grace was full of worry, fearing that she would force herself to sleep, “Let’s
go to the hospital and check what’s going on. I’m worried about you now.”
“It’s really nothing.” Evelyn’s voice was weak and breathless. In reality, she had been feeling unwell on
the way back, but she had been enduring it. It was only when she arrived home and the tension in her
body suddenly relaxed that she fainted.
As Evelyn touched the soft bedding, she instantly relaxed. A soft sigh escaped her nostrils, and she
closed her eyes, not intending to open them again.
Grace wiped her feet and arranged her clothing. When she looked up again, Evelyn had already fallen
into a deep sleep.

Grace hardly slept a wink, and in the middle of the night, Evelyn didn’t wake up either. It wasn’t until the
next morning that Grace woke up first. She got up, went to the kitchen to heat up some milk and toast,
and then turned to check the time. Seeing that it was not carly, she went to wake Evelyn up.
However, no matter how much she called, Evelyn remained
unresponsive.
“Evelyn, it’s almost nine o’clock. Get up and have breakfast. You can continue sleeping after that.”
There was no movement from the person in bed, and her eyes remained closed.
Grace wasn’t too worried at first. She called out to Evelyn a few more times, but even when she raised
her voice and almost leaned over to speak into her car, there was still no sign of her waking up.
She looked at Evelyn’s slightly flushed face and suddenly felt something was wrong. She reached out
to touch her forehead, and her palm felt a burning temperature!
