Chapter 8 "Everyone, please take a seat!" Darren said, clapping his hands together and nodding calmly.

As the room quieted, an officer addressed Natalie. "Ms. Xavier, Mr. Luther here claims you intentionally injured him, resulting in a mild concussion." They rolled a video showing Natalie smacking Darren on the head with her bag. The footage was clear, capturing both their faces..

Tony handed Natalie a concussion report.

It seemed they were well-prepared. On her way over, Natalie had pondered the trouble she might be in. But seeing Darren, it all clicked. No wonder he'd left the talent show early and hadn't returned-he was here, waiting for her.

She couldn't help but chuckle inwardly, then said, "Officers, I'm sorry for the trouble. I made a mistake, and I'm ready to own up to it, including the medical costs. I promise it won't happen again. Mr. Luther, I'm genuinely sorry. Can you find it in you to forgive me?" The officers looked at her: a young woman, beautiful and articulate. She didn't seem like the type to cause trouble. But looks could be deceiving; many a brazen person had backed down in the face of authority.

"Alright, one officer said. "Since you admit fault and have a good attitude, would you both like to settle this privately?" Natale smiled sweetly, "Settle? Absolutely! I'm all for it, Mr. Luther. What do you say?" Darren smirked coldly at her eagerness. He'd thought her tough, but now she seemed to be pleading with him to let it go.

Darren signaled Tony to show the officers out, leaving just him and Natalie in the room. He looked at her with a chilling smile. "If you agree to leave Greton, I won't press charges." Just then, Natalie's phone vibrated. "Hold on a second, Mr. Luther," she said, stepping outside. She looked stunning, her every step highlighting her curves, her skin catching the light perfectly in her black dress. Darren frowned, suspicious that she was flirting. "Take your call outside!" he barked, feeling irritated.

Natalie rolled her eyes. She was going outside anyway. She grabbed her phone and connected once in the hallway.

"What's going on with the trending news? Why were you taken in? Where are you now? Do you needto cover?" Arthur's voice cthrough the line.

Leaning against the wall, she replied casually, "Oh, just a small incident. Bring a few people with you." "Bring people?" Arthur asked, puzzled. "What kind of people?" Natalie answered nonchalantly, "Someone got a concussion thanks to me, so bring a medical team to cheek him out." Hearing her tone, Arthur realized this was serious. He paused, then said, "Got it, I'll be there in ten." "Okay, I'll wait for you." After hanging up, Natalie touched up her makeup in the restroom. When she returned, she found Arthur waiting for her.

She saw a large group approaching, with Arthur at the forefront. Behind him were over twenty bodyguards, followed by a medical team of at least ten. Upon seeing her, they all greeted respectfully, "Good day, Ms. Xavier!" Natalie waved back, and then entered the room.

"Just a phone call and you-" Darren said, his voice low as he noticed the crowd behind her. His face grew stern, and his icy 1/8 Chapter 8 gaze intense. "Natalie, you better explain yourself." "CallMs. Xavier," she replied languidly, swaying to the bed and making Darren's jaw clench.

+5 With a flick of her wrist, the bodyguards sprang into action, pulling up a chair for her. She sat casually, crossing her legs and twirling a strand of hair. With a snap of her fingers, she said, "Let's get started." The bodyguards formed a barrier around the hospital bed, keeping Darren at bay. His expression turned icy. As he was about to move, they restrained him, pinning him down.

Darren was a capable fighter; he could handle several opponents with case. But now, he faced about twenty people.

The bodyguards held him against the bed, limbs spread and secured. Meanwhile, the medical team prepared equipment and surgical tools.

"Natalie!" Darren hissed, anger seething. "What do you think you're doing?" No one paid him any mind.

Natalie sipped her coffee leisurely, enjoying each small sip, never bothering to glance his way.

"Natalie!" he shouted again, grinding his teeth. "Natalie... Ms. Xavier!"

"I'm here," she replied with a laugh, her voice smooth. "Mr. Luther, don't be scared. Honestly, after hitting you on the head, I felt terrible. I'm just bad, I felt concerned about your health, so I thought I'd have sexperts cby for a thorough check-up." "No need for that!" Darren stammered, sensing something amiss. His gut told him to reject her offer. "Tell them to stop! "Oh, I can't do that," she said, shaking her head with a smile. "They've call this way, and it wouldn't be fair for them to leave without doing anything." "What do you really want to achieve here?" Darren asked, questioning her motives.

Natalie stayed silent. Then, a dozen doctors in white coats stepped forward and began attaching monitors to Darren.

Thirty minutes had passed when the doctor handed the examination report to Natalie with a somber expression. "Ms. Xavier, Mr. Luther is confirmed to have sustained a mild concussion."

Natalie's eyes widened in shock. She scrutinized the report meticulously, reading it twice to ensure she hadn't missed alarm anything. With a hint of alar in her voice, she inquired, "Is it that severe? Is a craniotomy necessary for this condition?" Darren's eyes widened in disbelief. "Wait, is it that serious? You're not saying I need surgery, are you?" The doctor hesitated, glancing at Arthur, who was adjusting his glasses with a chilling grin. Understanding the unspoken, the doctor quickly added, "Yes, we recommend a craniotomy." Natalie took a deep breath and reassured Darren, "Mr. Luther, don't panic. It's just a minor surgery. You'll be right as rain in no time. I'll be right here with you. They're the best in the biz, so nothing will go wrong."

The doctor felt a chill at her words.

Usually, there wouldn't be any major issues unless Natalie had other om ideas. Darren quickly realized what NO. was happening. He chuckled, despite the gravity, anger simmering. He was in a bind, and he knew he had to face it. Leaning in, his tone turned serious. "Ms. Xavier, let's cut to the chase. What are your terms?" Natalie smirked, clearly relishing the moment. "Oh, Mr. Luther, you're so astute. I won't mince words then." She leaned closer to the bed, lifting his chin with her fingers. Under his piercing gaze, she smiled and continued, "How about we just forget all this trouble today?" RULE #1 choose married women They have reason to keep things secret, as do you.
