As the strain of being under Raydon's scrutiny began to take its toll on her, Feline frantically searched among her teammates for someone who might be able to give her a helping hand.
However, when Arora, another member of the team with investigative skills, was confronted with Feline's pleading and concerned eyes, she immediately betrayed her by avoiding eye contact and acting as if she knew nothing about the situation.
The unfortunate outcome for Arora was that the words spoken by Nysora completely undermined her efforts. While Arora hoped that Feline would bear the full weight of the pressure and tried to fade into the background, Nysora spoke up, shattering Arora's attempt to remain invisible.
"Arora, did you find the Region boss?" Nysora's tone matched the urgency in Raydon's gaze. She shared the same restlessness and panic as Feline, fully aware of Raydon's impatience.
It is possible that they would not have been as alarmed if this had happened before they witnessed the incredible power that Raydon possessed. But things were very different now; they had all been taught by their upbringing to revere and serve those who were powerful, and they now acknowledged Raydon as their young master in his entirety.
When Raydon's attention was drawn to her with that question, Arora felt every muscle in her body tightens up. Due to the shocks that she and everyone else had experienced, she had completely forgotten about this task, which was unfortunate because her investigative-type skill was more effective than Feline for locating the region boss.
"I'm sorry, young master. Just give me 10 minutes. No, just 5 minutes, and I will find it for you," Arora pleaded, bowing her head as low as she could.
"10 minutes? That's perfect. Sure, go ahead," Raydon responded, surprising Arora with his contented tone and demeanor.
While Arora was bracing herself for the wrath of Raydon and a severe reprimand for her negligence, she was on the verge of bursting into tears. However, when she heard him, she was taken aback and surprised.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt'He's not angry? ' Arora looked up, observing Raydon's smiling face, and pondered.
It was a terrible oversight on her part to not assist her young master when she should have been performing her duties as a battle maid. She reasoned that if Loran were in Raydon's position, would administer a severe punishment to her. Even Galen, who is generally considered to be the most laid-back member of the family, would have a difficult time keeping his cool in this situation.
In spite of this, all of the battle maids were taken aback by Raydon's modest demeanor and the lack of arrogance he displayed in comparison to his incredible power.
But unbeknownst to them at that moment, Raydon's true nature was that of a completely arrogant ass, much like other young masters. The apparent satisfaction and humble demeanor he displayed were not genuine, but rather a calculated facade. The truth was that if Raydon had attempted to search for the Region Boss using his investigative skills, he doubted he would even be able to locate it before the match came to an end.
Arora called out, summoning the dozens of crows still soaring in the sky to her side. She opened her dimensional storage, summoning even more crows from within and combining them with the ones outside.
''I need your help," she then turned to Elysia, silently conveying her request.
Elysia nodded in response and cast a skill on the crows, her voice resonating like a melodious tune as she spoke the name of her skill, "Rhythmic Rush." The sound waves emitted from her mouth delicately crashed into the crows, causing their bodies to take on a blue hue.
With their newfound enhancement, the crows' wings flapped faster and more vigorously.
Taking advantage of this boost, Arora used her own skill, "Cursed Enthrallment," which further amplified the speed at which they were moving.
Following the application of this skill effect, the blue hue that was previously present on the crows' bodies began to suddenly darken, and the crows' flapping speed increased by another 100%. After that, with a wave of her hand, Arora dispersed them all so that they could search for the boss of the region in all different directions.
Observing the intense effort put forth by Arora and her crows, Nysora couldn't help but think, 'Looks like she's giving it her all. '
She could see that the feathers on the crows' bodies, which had previously been glossy and in good health, were becoming noticeably duller, and some of the feathers were even coming loose and dangling behind the birds as they flew.
It would appear that Arora's final skill had significantly boosted their rate of movement but at the expense of their longevity.
The battle maids, aware of the sacrifices being made, regarded Arora with pity but remained silent. They understood the value of these crows and the financial implications of replacing them once they perished. Nevertheless, in order to successfully complete the mission that Raydon had bestowed upon them, they had no choice but to willingly pay the price.
Glancing at the collaborative efforts of the team, Raydon couldn't help but think, 'Having a team isn't all that bad.' He recognized the power of teamwork and the effectiveness it brought to their search.
Even he was taken aback by the current flight speed of the crows, as they were flying at more than twice the speed that he was capable of reaching, even when using the berserker technique in conjunction with the movement technique that Raydon employed to reach his full potential.
He had also seen the condition the crows were in and believed that they would not have much longer to live, but he did not give it much thought because he was unaware of how valuable the crows were. And even if he were aware of that fact, he probably would not give a damn about it.
After all, the Demugen family had sent them to assist him, and he intended to utilize their support until he could assemble his own item set.
"By the way, can someone carry this thing for me?" Raydon asked, pointing to the amputated body of the Region Boss.
"I will do it," Mell volunteered, stepping forward to fulfill Raydon's request. "Do you want me to remove the life core for you as well?" she offered.
Raydon didn't reject the additional service and replied, "Sure."
He watched as Mell retrieved a knife with a sharp edge from her dimensional storage. The blade emanated a menacing glow as she approached the body of the Region Boss, delicately slashing through its chest.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmMell's dismantling blade or arms did not have the strength to cut through the hard shell of the Region Boss, but it did not take her long to cut through the flesh of the already shattered and broken body of the Region Boss.
The focus of Raydon's gaze shifted to the dark green and bloody flesh that lay beneath the brittle exterior of the creature. He wondered, "Is the meat of this thing edible?"
It didn't appear particularly appetizing, but all the mobs he had consumed thus far had been delicious. Moreover, this one was D-Rank meat, and the sheer amount present in the body alone could potentially sustain him for weeks.
''This is an earth-type life core. ''
Mell's words, which showed Raydon a brown orb approximately the size of a fist, caught Raydon's attention as he was making plans for his future requirements for meat.
"Hmm, what is the price of this in the item market?" Raydon inquired as he examined the life core, noting that the only difference from an E-Rank life core was its brighter appearance.
"Materials of D-Rank and above usually do not have a fixed price and can vary depending on the buyer. However, I can assure you that it would not sell for less than 10,000 gold coins. This is mainly because it possesses an ordinary element. If it had a rare element, its price would increase several times," Mell explained while carefully storing the Region Boss' parts in her dimensional storage.
'10,000 for a life core? ' Raydon raised an eyebrow, contemplating the value.
In general, even the green-grade magic equipment that he had purchased and sold up to this point had averaged around that price, with the best ones reaching approximately 30,000 gold coins in price. However, he understood that this was a justifiable price for such material, considering that D-Rank materials could be used in the crafting of blue-grade items.
"What about the body of the Region Boss?" Raydon inquired once more.
"The logic is similar to the life core, but the body is slightly more expensive. Since it also possesses the earth element, its minimum price would likely start from 15,000 gold coins. Of course, the price can increase depending on demand and the buyer," Mell explained.
Even though the value of life cores could not be understated because of the significant role they play in the process of item crafting and item formation, mob bodies had an even wider variety of applications. One of their most important functions was to provide item holders with the necessary nourishment that their bodies required, making this one of their most important contributions to society. As a consequence of this, the meat of mobs and Region Bosses was almost always in high demand, and it frequently attracted a greater number of buyers than life cores.
"Wow, I only killed one Region Boss and earned an average of 25,000 gold coins, huh? Considering that there are two Region Bosses in each match, I can earn at least 50,000 gold coins per match," Raydon mused aloud upon hearing Mell's explanations.
