Chapter 112: The Love that He Needs
“Ai, so it’s true that doctors are still the most sought after people in the world. I would take up medicine too if I had known earlier,” Yun Xiangxiang sighed. “Having the art of healing means having the world.
What humans were scared of most now wasn’t any natural or man-made disasters. It would be unknown diseases.
Nobody would not seek out a doctor for their whole life. Doctors became an indispensable existence.
“You can learn it anytime you want to,” Song Mian smiled gently at Yun Xiangxiang.
Yun Xiangxiang shook her head, “I’m just saying it. Don’t take it seriously.”
She was so busy now, she wished she knew the shadow clone jutsu. She couldn’t possibly have time to learn medicine!
“You’re overworked recently,” Song Mian suddenly announced
“Ah?” Yun Xiangxiang took a sip of her porridge before shaking her head.
“No one can hide the condition of their health in front of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner,” Song Mian stood up and walked to Yun Xiangxiang’s back. He pressed his hands against Yun Xiangxiang’s head. “Relax.”
Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners could know the situation of someone’s body just by the complexion of their face. Song Mian was at the level where he could know every little detail of someone’s health with just a single glance.
Yun Xiangxiang immediately relaxed her tensed up nerves.
Song Mian’s fingers pressed against her head strongly. Every prod made her feel a slight sore, but it also felt inexplicably good. That was, until he used more strength when he pressed down on the nape of her neck.
“It hurts!” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t endure the pain like she did at Song Qian’s.

If he didn’t let her go through this minor pain, it would become an agony if it accumulated.
But it was only painful for the first time. The pain slowly subsided. Yun Xiangxiang actually felt good in the end. She only wanted to close her eyes and sleep like this.
In fact, she actually slept when Song Mian was massaging her acupoints. She didn’t wake up even when Song Mian took her to the sofa in his hands. However, he only let her sleep for one hour before waking her up.
He knew she had a habit of revising. She also had her brother waiting for her at her house on the lower floor. If she just slept like that, it would mess up her plans for tomorrow.
“I feel that I’ve been given some elixir. I’m feeling energetic!” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t feel fatigued when she opened her eyes.
“Relaxing your tendons and livening your meridians have the effect of energizing you,” Song Mian smiled. “I will be living here after this if I’m in the country.”
“Then...what will happen to Mr Song?” Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t really call him uncle, since Song Mian’s father looked so much younger than her father.
“He could go on with his life just with his flowers and plants,” Song Mian’s tone was plain.
“He must hope that you can accompany him often,” Yun Xiangxiang placed her hands on Song Mian’s shoulders and leant her chin upwards.
It would be okay if Song Mian was overseas. However, it wouldn’t be too good if he didn’t go back to his home if he was in the country or Beijing
“It’s good for him if I don’t go back,” Song Mian turned his head sideways and said.
“En?” Yun Xiangxiang looked at Song Mian in confusion.
“It’s not good for his body if he gets angry too frequently.”
“Pfft!” Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t help but laugh. “You know you’re going to make him angry, but you still won’t cut him some slack.
“En, I’ll listen to you and cut him some slack,” Song Mian nodded obediently.
It was this kind of inadvertent show of love that made her feel like he was treasuring her like she was his precious.
She wrapped her hands around Song Mian’s neck and laid on his back, “You don’t have to go through so much trouble to buy a house. I can always go to the Song Family manor to visit you.
“That will invite even more trouble,” Song Mian caught Yun Xiangxiang’s hand. “You will have a lot of reporters following you after this. How dangerous would it be if you need to shake them off every time? Someone will figure it out if you come and go from the Song Family’s manor frequently. There will be negative news about you. Even if I really want to see this happen, I don’t want to force you in this way.”
The girl that he liked was very proud just like what she said.
Even if the media couldn’t penetrate where the Song Family lived, their geographical location was still chock full with nobles. If the media knew about that, who knows what kind of accusatory reports they would make.
The best counterattack for this would be for him to stand up to pursue Yun Xiangxiang openly.
But if he did that, no matter how much effort Yun Xiangxiang would make in the future, they would be ignored just because of who he was.
Those people would only think that Yun Xiangxiang got everything she had just because of his existence.
This would be unfair to Yun Xiangxiang. Song Mian, like her, hoped that she would be acknowledged. It was because she was really great.
Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t help but give Song Mian a quick kiss, “How can the world have such a good man like you, Song Mian?”
“The deeper the love, the farther the plan,” Song Mian naturally wouldn’t let any chance to flirt with her escape.
“How long can you stay in the country?” Yun Xiangxiang asked softly.

“You have your own career. Do you really want to live off your parents just to accompany me?”
Yun Xiangxiang also understood this very well, “Just like how I have my own career as well. I can’t stagnate just because of you.”
“Do you know when I fall in love with you?” Song Mian suddenly asked.
Yun Xiangxiang lifted her chin, “With me being such a natural beauty, didn’t you fall in love with me at first sight?”
He looked at his little girlfriend pretending to be fierce to threaten him. She would let him have it if he dared to answer no.
Her attitude turned Song Mian’s heart into soft cotton, “It was what you said to me in the ward. Your independence and self-sufficient attitude touched my heart deeply. The reason my father went unmarried was because he didn’t want to fail the lady, nor did he want to force himself.”
“I never wanted a woman who would have me as the center of her life.”
“You really are different from the others,” Yun Xiangxiang asked with a laugh. “Don’t you know that most men would hope that they are the only thing in women’s eyes? Countless men who are slightly competent would hope that their women would live a colorful life off of them only.”
“I can’t say anything about this. Everyone has their own definition of love.”
Song Mian thought for a while before saying to Yun Xiangxiang, “I can’t accept that my wife lives only for me. If I do love her, I will become a pathetic worm who wouldn’t care about the world and only wanted to be by her side all the time. If I don’t love her, I would be wracked by guilt, because I can’t reciprocate her deep love.”
Perhaps it was because of his career as a doctor that saw him getting used to the cycle of life since he was a child. He saw too many couples who lost their way when their significant other perished.
After that, the world would see more old people getting neglected, or lonely children who lost their parents.
This kind of love was obsessive. It was scary. It was a love where their lover was their world, and family was forgotten.
If they lost that love, they would lose their soul.
He wasn’t invalidating this kind of love. It just wasn’t the love that he was looking for.
He hoped that his wife would be strong enough to not be struck down by anything she would come across.
He hoped that her world would be so vibrant and colorful that it would still stay as such even if it lost a bit of color.
