Chapter 212: An Awkward Seat
Her gowns never exposed her back or cleavage in this life. Her shoulder was the most skin she showed. This was her first time exposing her legs.
Anyone wearing hot pants would expose that level of skin. Song Mian was too egotistical. She finally caught him in the act.
“You aren’t afraid of making enemies, aren’t you?” Fang Nanyuan shook his head.
“Everyone’s dolled up. Everyone wants to be the prettiest. What? They can’t see anyone prettier than them?” Yun Xiangxiang sneered. “Can’t help it if they hate me for this. My mom gave me my looks after all.”
In her past life as Hua Xiangrong, she was no stunner. She didn’t get much attention at any red carpet proceeding. But she never complained about anyone looking better than she did. If anyone hated people for being more competent than they were, they were sick and needed therapy!
“That’s probably what they meant by dilemmas of the gorgeous. I’m just a normal guy. Can’t imagine how it must be like,” Fang Nanyuan sighed softly.
“Oh, don’t pull my leg. You’re no normal guy. I heard that you are the top of the new gen’s four great bishounen on an online post,” Yun Xiangxiang exposed him mercilessly.
“He’s the top of the four great bishounen?” Xue Yu was annoyed when he heard it. Pointing at himself, he asked, “What about me then?”
Xue Yu had always been confident about his looks. He would admit that Fang Nanyuan was outstanding. Even so, rankings about looks never were about looks. The star’s status and popularity would be considered. The fans would riot otherwise.
“Ahem,” Yun Xiangxiang coughed. “Senior, you missed something there. I said “new gen.””
Afterwards, Yun Xiangxiang pointed at Fang Nanyuan before pointing at Xue Yu, “There’s a generation gap between you two.”
Xue Yu was speechless.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtFang Nanyuan tried his hardest not to laugh in disrespect. Especially when Xue Yu was his idol and senior.
“You guys look lively. What’s up?” Xue Yu’s embarrassment was blown away when this voice spoke.
But Xue Yu didn’t want his embarrassment to be blown by this voice. It belonged to his nemesis, Lu Jin!
“It’s an inside joke. We shouldn’t share it with Emperor Lu,” Xue Yu remarked sharply.
“I’m close with Xiangxiang too.” Lu Jin didn’t hold back. “Also, I seem to collaborate more with Xiangxiang.”
“We are senior and junior of the same agent!” Xue Yu was defiant.
“Relationships don’t grow deeper with a bond in name. You have to spend more time with each other.”
“Hmph. That’s what you think.”
“And you’re just having wishful thinking.”
“Um, you two...,” noticing the tension rising between both of them, Yun Xiangxiang quickly pointed somewhere within the spectators. “There are reporters in the venue too, you know.”
When they looked up, they noticed reporters pointing their camera at them. They were top tier stars after all. Not to mention they were standing together.
There was also the popular idol, Fang Nanyuan, as well as the beauty, Yun Xiangxiang there. Four of them in the same place was too eye-catching.
“Teacher Lu, that’s a nice suit,” Xue Yu smiled and praised insincerely.
“Teacher Xue, you look energetic today,” Lu Jin replied formally.
The photoshoot from afar showed nothing but harmony and happiness between both of them. They were bona fide top international actors after all.
“I am embarrassed for you two if you aren’t,” Yun Xiangxiang found the duo insufferable.
Fang Nanyuan also thought the air was filled with awkwardness. Fang Nanyuan might dread the pregnant pause, but he wished both of them would shut up right now. But he couldn’t say that. Yun Xiangxiang could though.
“Let’s go back to our seats, junior,” Xue Yu took Yun Xiangxiang’s hand and went to their seats smugly.
He wanted to give Lu Jin a provocative look after sitting down, but the organizers had other ideas. He sat at Yun Xiangxiang’s left, while Lu Jin sat on her right. Fang Nanyuan sat right behind her.
The most awkward thing here was Song Mian was sitting right in front of her, with one row separating them.
Yun Xiangxiang sat at the best spot for photo shoots. The front two rows were occupied by the leaders. They wouldn’t show up in the photos.
“Xingzhou’s case is concluding soon. According to Director Wu, “The King’s Plan” will probably air in the golden week of Labor’s Day,” Lu Jin tilted his head and whispered to Yun Xiangxiang.
Yun Xiangxiang’s eyes lit up. If the film aired during the golden week of Labor’s Day, that meant He Xingzhou was innocent. The editing and reshoot couldn’t be done in such a short time.
When she recalled how Song Mian also said the case would conclude soon, she guessed Director Wu was probably airing “The King’s Plan” following the trend after He Xingzhou’s acquittal.
“That is good news,” Yun Xiangxiang pursed her lips and smiled.
“Junior, how long are you going to film in Paris? “Flying Sky”‘s audition is in August,” Xue Yu suddenly spoke up too.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmYun Xiangxiang tilted to Xue Yu, “Are you sure that “Flying Sky”‘s audition is in August?”
He Wei didn’t tell her. She thought it was still undecided.
“I used to work with the director. I didn’t know about it until I talked to him a few days ago,” Xue Yu explained. “He didn’t give the company the confirmation yet. It’s natural the company doesn’t know about it.”
You can do that? Yun Xiangxiang’s eyes shone brighter. If she knew the exact time, she could try and talk Milles into giving her a few days off for the audition. Milles shouldn’t mind, she thought.
She had to wait for the notice after the audition, after which they had to prepare. At any rate, ten months would pass before she needed to join the crew. She could finish filming “First Love.”
“Thank you, senior,” Yun Xiangxiang felt a lot of weight falling off her mind.
It was at this moment that Lu Jin spoke to her again. She tilted his way just for Xue Yu to interrupt after a moment of talking.
As he sat behind them, Fang Nanyuan was tired just looking at Yun Xiangxiang. To save her, he talked to her too.
The film festival started when they were chatting. There were many awards for a university student’s film festival.
Xue Yu came here as an award presenter. Lu Jin came here as a contestant.
They didn’t need to do anything in the early stages. It wasn’t until the first climax: most popular actor or actress among university students did they have to do something.
Lu Jin was nominated as the most popular actor, to which he won. He stood up and walked to the stage, relaxed and always waving.
“Rumors said that Emperor Lu and God Xue disliked one another. Now that you’re sitting together, what do you think about this, Emperor Lu?” Lu Jin might have taken the award, but the host was not letting him go easily.
“Rumors are just that. To me, Teacher Xue is an outstanding actor. I can learn something from him.” Lu Jin’s answer was as formal as his smile. Nobody could nitpick it.
“What a hypocrite,” Xue Yu might be saying that, but he smiled broadly. He was not giving anyone any chance to make a story out of this.
“Your look is showing that perfectly, senior.”
