After walking a few steps, she turned around and said, “Don’t cook the leeks for lunch.”
The man nodded. Without saying a word, Lily headed down to the basement.
Alexander was not coughing as badly anymore. Lily was right. He was indeed getting better, and his mental state was improving as
well. After checking his pulse, Lily found that his body condition was not as severe as she had imagined.
The troublespart was that this virus was rather cunning. Alexander's pulse would be stable, and everything would be normal
during the day. However, his cough would flare up at night.
That was the first tLily had encountered such a disease since she started studying medicine. She did not find anything like it in
old medical books either. She concluded that this was a new virus and was undoubtedly linked to the experiments in the laboratory.
“Drink this.” She handed the bowl to Alexander. After taking off his mask, he quickly finished the bowl without complaint.

The medicine was very bitter. Lily had taken a sip herself, so she was full of admiration when she saw him drink without a change
in his expression. In the end, she stuck out her tongue in disgust.
“How long do | have to take this?” Alexander looked up at her and consciously put on his mask again.
“Hmm... Three...” After thinking for a while, she said, “Five...seven to eight days!”
Alexander knew Lily was teasing him as he shot her a playful glare. If it were not for this disease, he would have pulled her into his
arms and kissed her.
Lily burst into laughter when she saw his unhappy and helpless eyes. Then she said, “I'm kidding. Your pulse seems to have
stabilized now, and you don’t get as many seizures as before. | think you'd need another two or three days before fully recovering.
However, this virus is peculiar. | think I'd have to observe you a little more.”
“Okay, I'll listen to you, my miracle doctor!” He teased as he gently stared at her dotingly.
Her cheeks immediately turned red. “Whatever! By the way, is there any news about Edward?”
Edward had always been lingering in her mind. Olivia must be worried sick. On top of that, now that Lily was with Alexander, she
was afraid that Olivia's mind would begin to run wild if Lily did not check on her from tto time.
Alexander shook his head lightly without saying a word. His face dimmed as well.
The thought of a wounded Edward being in a foreign country was depressing. In such a chaotic situation, the probability of him
surviving was low.
Even so, they continued to hope. They did not want to believe Edward was dead. As long as they had not discovered a body and
there was no definite news of his death, Alexander would have people searching high and low for Edward.
“Are you men still looking for him in Burnwken?” Lily asked again after a while.

Alexander nodded. “Yes. They've also branched out to other places, including nearby villages and towns. They even searched in
the next district. All my employees in Burnwken have used up all the resources they could gather. They searched everywhere, even
in stiny streets around Burnwken. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack!”
Upon hearing this, Lily frowned, seeming like she was holding back her words.
“What's wrong?” Alexander asked when he noticed her confusion.
“Do you think he may have already returned to the country?” She could not help but ask.
“Return here?”
Lily nodded affirmatively. “Think about it. You're already back here. If he were alive, it would be risky if he continued staying
abroad. On top of that, you and Olivia are around here. What good does he have to continue staying out there? He'll find his way
back to us!”
