Stencil stared at the humans that climbed the tower. For the first few years, they remained on the first floor, content with living there. After all, having lived through World War Three, they wished to stay away from fighting as much as possible.
But of course, they couldn't entirely do that, for living there meant they needed resources. And only coins purchased the necessary resources, including food and water. Completing trials was the sole way of accumulating coins.
To survive, they needed to fight. But during the initial years, everyone only fought the bare minimum. They also had a collective sense in the city, for there were just six million of them left.
The collective community was pretty cohesive. But, it only lasted so long. Eventually, healthy survivors fell in love and had kids.
With the arrival of the next generation, hope blossomed. And through hope, desire sprouted. They wished to give a better life to their kids, live comfortably as a family, accumulate enough wealth for their family to prosper, etc.
There were all sorts of reasons. Eventually, it gave rise to people who were willing to wholeheartedly challenge the tower and grow stronger. The more they gained strength, the greater their addiction to the act of growing without limits became.
Of course, it was only a matter of time before conflicts sprung here and there. At first, they were just verbal arguments. But as time progressed, the arguments grew more and more intense before soon, blades were drawn.
Shortly after, the first death in the tower occurred, one not at the trials but at the hands of a fellow human. That sparked the human population, fracturing them into smaller, cohesive groups. Eventually, communities with similar idealogies formed as they settled in various parts of the tower.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMoreover, communities began to occupy floors, purchasing lands to gain exclusive rights. It resulted in a power struggle as rankers emerged from all communities that challenged the upper floors, paving the foundation for the occupation of the rest of their community.
Thanks to the rewards from the tower, people gradually became younger and had robust and healthy bodies. So, even if a woman gave birth to a dozen kids, she wasn't in the least physically drained. She was still healthy. And as long as she continued to climb the tower, she'll further regain her youth.
Floor 46!
"Haah…that's enough, Shaggy." Minhua gasped as she collapsed to the ground in exhaustion. Standing before her was a dog that was two storeys in size. It was the same Shaggy as before, but after being fed countless precious resources by Minhua, it had grown to become a formidable creature.
Clobbered into a gooey mess before Shaggy was the Floor Boss. Once it disappeared, countless messages appeared in her vision.
[Congratulations on killing the Floor Boss, Temporal Slime Emperor for the first time. Calculating Rewards…]
A bunch of resources was credited to her inventory, followed by cheerful donations from all the Constellations watching her. Minhua went through them once before checking her stats.
[Name: Minhua]
[Affiliation: Chief Admiral Entrom Sachshay]
[Title: Old Lady Still Has Spunk, Curel Slaughterer, Canine Tooth Fairy, Shepherd Clan Leader…]
[Class: Tamer]
[Sub-Class: Alchemist]
[Unique Skill: Monster Database (8/11)]
[Skills: Tame, Command, Affinity Inspect, Inventory, Craft Potion, Material Appraisal, Alloyfication, Weapon Mastery, War Veteran Sense]
[Combat Power: 296]
[Recovery: 172]
[Magic Power: 402]
As compared to when she started, she was on a whole other level. Her stats may not compare to some of the monstrous humans in the tower, but her fighting skills made her one of the best. It was especially brought about by the synergy of her various Skills and titles.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe currently had nine Skills. Among them, the first three came from her Class of Tamer. Inventory was available to everyone. The next three Skills came from her Sub-Class of Alchemist. And finally, the last two Skills came from her Constellation, Chief Admiral Entrom Sachshay.
She didn't know who that was, as that was a fake name. But, someone renowned that had died in World War Three had become a Constellation and was now offering her support.
Her Monster Database was now eleven pages, eight of which were filled. She originally had ten filled, but two of them died in the recent boss fight. But overall, the gains more than made up for the losses.
It had been twenty years since she entered the tower. By this time, she had grown to become one of the leading rankers, being the eighth to kill the 46th Floor Boss. With that, she gained a lot of rewards, enough to purchase a lot of properties on the 46th Floor.
That would allow her Shepherd Clan to set up base on the 46th Floor and use it as a springboard to challenge the higher levels. After all, based on what she gathered until now, the 50th-floor boss gave rewards a hundred times the previous Floor Bosses. But it was also the strongest they would face, almost on the level of bosses that would appear in the late eighties.
In order to face that, she had to prepare a lot. By this point, the sense of collective everyone had was no more. It was just a rat race, a repeat of the past.
Well, it was also because humanity's population was no longer endangered. Just consider Minhua alone. Currently, she looked no different from a woman in the prime of her life. Her vitality too was vastly greater than what she possessed during her youth on Earth.
And as someone that used her tamed beasts to fight, she remained safe no matter how tough the fight got. Thanks to that, she had been giving birth without interruptions, once every ten months, with no breaks.
Her children alone numbered more than twenty, for sometimes, her vitality was enough to result in twins or even triplets. She had five husbands and a massive family.
After all, the oldest among her children had already married and started their own families, beginning to pump kids like factories. The males among her children were plenty talented. And as a result, they too had polygamous relationships.
As a result, the population of the Shepherd Clan already reached three digits. They currently had a monopoly over Floor 21 and significant bases on four other Floors, not to mention at least a few houses on every Floor, including Floor 46.
Currently, in the Tower of Accomplishments, it was a game of population.
