'This energy signature…' Compass Carburettor was surprised, 'How did it recover from its injuries so quickly? No, it feels stronger than before.'
Grade 3 System—Invader (Level 256)!
The energy signature from the foreign beings was the Invader System's. This surprised him, for the Invader System had suffered the most damage among the Grade 3 Systems during that battle.
But now, not only did it seem like it had recovered from the damage but had also grown many times stronger than before. This was what he could infer from the Invaders, but he couldn't figure out the cause without gazing upon the Invader System itself.
"Muscle Lantern," Compass Carburettor's tone turned serious, pointing at a student as he said, "Protect him with your life."
His figure flashed, appearing next to Millie, surprising the latter as he glared, 'These fuckers dare interfere with my daughter's plans?'
"Eh? What?" Muscle Lantern was surprised to Compass Carburettor take action all of a sudden. But a glance at the other party's body language, and before he processed it, his body had moved to arrive before the pointed student.
He was Vahor, a student that aspired to become a powerful Hero and protect his city. Based on how the fate of the place twisted all of a sudden, Compass Carburettor inferred that Vahor and Millie were the targets of the Invaders.
Boom!
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Kya!" Millie screamed in shock as the ground rumbled in response. She collapsed to the ground, looking up in alarm to see a massive inverted umbrella form from Compass Carburettor's hand, stretching out into the sky to encompass a humanoid monster that had attacked.
The inverted umbrella had tanked the attack and ensured the shockwaves were redirected into the sky so that the students remained safe.
The Invader sported a dumbbell in place of fists, with blades jutting out of its body that hummed faintly. It had punched Millie with the intent to kill her, surprised to see an inverted umbrella manifest all of a sudden and tank its attack.
But right as it planned to attack again, the image of an eye manifested in the centre of the umbrella and glared at it, unleashing an attack
Spirit Morph!
"Futile…" The Invader snorted as suddenly, the blades jutting out of its body hummed faster, unleashing an acoustic energy wave that impacted the power of Spirit Morph, dissipating the latter before slamming into the umbrella.
It caused deep groves to form on it, surprising Compass Carburettor.
The fact that it had casually thwarted the effects of Spirit Morph was shocking. Indeed, having been spammed like crazy in the previous war, it would be surprising if the Systems hadn't created countermeasures for it already.
"Kyak!"
"What the hell is that?"
"Are those what the Genesis Hero was warning about?"
The students panicked, about to run away when suddenly, intense pressure engulfed them, causing them to feel suffocated, unable to budge an inch.
The eyes of a student scanned with difficulty, staring at an Invader with three pairs of arms gently landing a couple of metres away from Vahor.
"Hmph! All students, get behind the faculty." Muscle Lantern announced as a beam of light spread around, strengthening the students as the pressure on them was lifted, allowing them to hurry towards the faculty that had reacted by now.
"Millie!" Old man Mida shouted in alarm to see his granddaughter being targeted by an Invader.
"I'll take care of this." Compass Carburettor said in a hurry before pointing at the other Invader, "Work together with Muscle Lantern to deal with that one. Stall for time until I finish the fight here. Millie will be safe, trust me."
"Fine," Old man Mida could feel Compass Carburettor's sincerity. And hence, he rushed towards Muscle Lantern.
Boom!
Muscle Lantern strengthened himself to the limit. He was stronger now after Compass Carburettor helped him, reaching the peak as a B-Class Hero. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough in this situation, for his full-powered punch was casually blocked by the Invader.
"Weak…" The Invader muttered as it clenched one of its hands into a fist and slammed it into him, sending him skidding back by a dozen metres. It then turned around to punch at the unguarded Vahor.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Keuk!" Old man Mida grunted in response, unleashing a dome that covered him and Vahor, watching the Invader's fist slam into it. His poison caused sparks to sizzle from the opponent's knuckles, barely singeing it when the barrier shattered.
Kaboom!
Muscle Lantern arrived in time to kick away the fist zooming at old man Mida, causing the attack to miss as he unleashed a beam of light on the Invader, intending to weaken the other party.
A sonic fluctuation wafted out of the Invader's body before it destroyed his beam of light, unaffected as it punched Muscle Lantern stronger, shattering his arms to send him flying at the wall of the auditorium, "B-Class Hero…weak."
It then kicked old man Mida, sending him crashing into the roof of the auditorium, noticing the skin on its leg had been peeled off from the opponent's power. But the injury was nothing, "This old man…less weak."
With the two Heroes sent flying, the Invader grinned, unleashing its pressure to stop the running figure of Vahor, causing him to collapse helplessly as it flickered before him, "One target, subdued…"
"I'm afraid I'll have to stop you here." Its legs came to a stop, caught by a small hand, but one that didn't budge in response.
The two Invaders that had arrived at the Academy were around five metres tall. They weren't as big as the other Invaders, but stronger, for Millie and Vahor's potential was greater.
"A Ranger, huh." The Invader grinned as suddenly, its body began to shrink, reaching the same height as a human as its three pairs of arms contracted into one. As soon as that happened, intense energy waves blasted out of it, causing cracks to form on the ground.
Rawww!
The energy from its body slammed into the ground, seemingly invading it as for a moment, the area's resistance to it became a tad weak and was getting weaker over time.
'It seems their goal is to weaken our world's defensive mechanism.' The man thought as he stomped the ground, unleashing energy that countered the Invader before reinforcing the area further, "I'm from the Ranger Troupe. You'll never succeed, Invader."
