The sun streamed through the car windows as Sam chatted beside me, her voice light and bubbly. | nodded

At the top of the stairs, | froze, my stomach plummeting when | heard familiar voices. Josh and Luke.

Pressing my palm to my chest, | took a deep breath, willing myself to stay calm. Josh had been too drunk last
night to remember anything, | reassured myself. There was no way he'd bring it up.
