Chapter 362: Unexpected Happy Accident
“Hmph, curse you Curtis! Today will be the day that your evil acts against women shall end!”
Since they had been discovered, the assassins that were hidden in the small forest beside the dancing hall revealed themselves.
“Damn, thank god I didn’t get closer!” said Jiang Fei as he saw that there were around thirty people coming out of the forest. Unfortunately, since Jiang Fei was watching the entire drama unfolding through the magic rift, Jiang Fei was unable to observe their information. Even their names were hidden.
“Hahahaha… Such a crowd for me? I appreciate the gesture but what could three low-level Overlords with a bunch of trash do!?” taunted Curtis as he laughed maniacally. He had not even thought that the enemies in front of him were worth fighting against.
“Damn…” Jiang Fei muttered. To think that the Luminous Church was able to send out three Overlord characters to fight a single prince.
“Talk no more! We kill!” said a Holy Knight who took the lead and charged toward Curtis.
The war of Light and Darkness had nothing much to explain. They would fight without the need to talk. Only the three Overlord characters were trading blows with Curtis while the others were standing at the side to support. Even so, both sides were equal in terms of strength.
“What the hell! No wonder the prince was that crazy. He had the power to match his craziness!” said Jiang Fei as he witnessed how the Fourth Prince was able to outmatch thirty enemies whilst being surrounded.
Through the rift created by Isabella, Jiang Fei was leaning forward as he witnessed the bright blast of power being deflected by Curtis. Almost all magic spells were deflected and although he did take some with his body, at every instant a magic spell landed, the same black flames that Isabella had was burning the spell away. At the same time, he would use the black flames as a weapon to attack. Every time he did that, his enemies would have to get together to conjure stronger magic to counter the flames.
“Hmm, he will die today!” said Isabella.
“How so?” asked Jiang Fei. From his perspective, it was clear that Curtis had the upper hand.
“Hmm. If the Luminous Church really wanted to kill Curtis, they would not just send these bunch of flies!” said Isabella as she laughed coldly.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Is that so,” said Jiang Fei as he quickly focused back on the battle.
At this point, it was obvious that Curtis had the upper hand in the fight. One by one, the members of the Luminous Church were dropping like flies. There were no signs of reinforcements coming to aid the Luminous Church.
“Not good! There’s something wrong with him! The intel is wrong! The enemy is stronger than that we had perceived!”
“There’s no turning back now! Fight until the last of us fall!” said the Holy Knight as he lifted his shield up high and charged toward Curtis.
“You conceited little fool!” Curtis laughed as he stood still to receive the Holy Knight’s attack.
WHAM!
With a powerful blast, the Holy Knight was simply punched in the face. He was immediately blown away with blood spilling everywhere.
“For the Light!” cried the other attackers as they had decided to throw away their lives to subdue Curtis.
Splat!
In the middle of all the swords and slashes, Curtis effortlessly swung his arm and sliced off the head of another lower level Overlord character. At the same time, purplish blood flowed from Curtis’s arm.
“Interesting! You lots have managed to make me bleed!” said Curtis as he brushed off the wound. With his own blood spilled, his rage was only going to get worse.
BOOM!
With a simple punch, the second Overlord tier character was sent flying.
“For the glory of the Light!” said the last standing Overlord tier character. He held his sword with both arms and dragged the sword through the ground at high speed toward Curtis.
“For the Light!”
“For the Light!”
…
Crack!
Swoop!
Wham!
One by one, all who charged toward Curtis was sent flying. However, there was one who had managed to get close to Curtis.
“Die!”
BOOM!
After that man turned himself into a suicide bomber, the rest who were gravely injured followed and exploded themselves as close to the prince as they could. Even the last Overlord tier character, he had even managed to run to Curtis and hug his arm before exploding.
“What the hell is wrong with the Luminous Church? Who would allow suicidal attacks like that? That’s a cult, I’d tell you!” said Jiang Fei.
“Oh my, Verdure Glider. You’re still too naive and young. There’s no such thing as good and evil! Only those with will and ideas!” said Isabella.
Jiang Fei could only sigh at what Isabella had just said. It might be that way in the game but it was also the same in the real world. Ever since he joined the circle of Metahumans, it was made clear to Jiang Fei that the world was just as what Isabella had just explained.
After continuous bombings, Curtis movements were somewhat sluggish. He was not behaving as crazy as before. Even though he did receive a slash from the Holy Knight, it was merely a flesh wound that could be ignored. However, the bombings were different. Even though the other characters were only Level 90 Lord tier bosses, their explosive power was rather potent. As a middle-tier Overlord, Curtis was not going to survive if all of them were coming in to detonate like that.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Finally, the day has come that I would see your death!” said Isabella bitterly.
“For the glory of the Light!”
BOOM!
The Holy Knight that was knocked away earlier had finally resorted to joining the suicide squad and ran toward Curtis before exploding. Even though he was only one level lower than Curtis, the difference in the strength was too obvious. Still, his suicide attempt had managed to inflict Curtis with heavy damage.
When the fight was over and the dust settled, Curtis was seen still standing with blood flowing from all over his body.
“Hmm. Hm. Hm. Ha… Hahaha! HAHAHA!” Curtis started to laugh maniacally.
“Didn’t you want to kill me? Come on! I’m right here!”
That laughter was so loud and maniacal that even at several thousand kilometers in the air, Jiang Fei was able to hear that laughter faintly.
“Oh my pretty little mortal! I have eliminated all those who disturb us from making love! It is time for us to resume our romantic evening!”
Curtis entered the ballroom again and zoomed toward the half-naked human female.
“G-Get away from me!” cried the poor woman as she tried to escape by running out of the ballroom and toward the tree where the assassin was killed.
“My lady! I know that you are with them but fear not! For I shall be loving you with all my body and soul! And know this, when you were so happy and reaching the heavens, that’s when I shall send your soul to the gods you worship! You’ll never know pain! HAHAHA!” Curtis laughed as he chased after the woman like a drunk man.
Effortlessly, he grabbed the woman’s wrist and spun her into his embrace.
“Let me go!” cried the poor female as she tried to wrestle her way out.
At this moment, Jiang Fei saw everything unfolding through the rift. There was a sudden change in the woman’s expression. Even though she was screaming for help, her eyes… they seemed focused and determined. At that moment, the female cracked a smile!
Shiing!
A glint of light flashed and the woman drew out a short sword that emitted a faint blue light. With a powerful thrust, she plunged the sword straight into Curtis’s chest. At that point, Jiang Fei realized that it was all planned. It was a secondary back up plan if the main force failed to kill Curtis. The short sword was hidden in the tree all along and she only needed to play along to reach it.
