In a place far away
A man wearing a simple white cloth was working on an extremely complex thing when he suddenly stopped and looked east with a smile on his face.
"Oh, someone finally inherited it," he said, and his eyes became focused and a few seconds later, the smile on his face widened even more.
"I hope he didn't let it go to waste," he added, before focusing back on a complex thing, he was working on.
…
'Congratulations, you have succeeded.' he said as I opened my eyes.
I had finished over ten minutes ago, but I did not open my eyes immediately because of the pain.
"Thank you," I said and looked at him, who had grown a lot fainter. Even the runes made the metallic chair had also rusted. I could barely sense, any power in them.
I turned to him and couldn't help, but became surprised, seeing how faint he had become. Earlier, he looked like a person. I wasn't able to distinguish between the real and piece of soul he is.
"To be honest, seeing your level. I didn't think you would be able to do it, but I shouldn't be surprised."
"You are the host of celestial inheritance and even have forbidden energy," he said, and the moment I heard the last word, I am shocked and alarmed.
I realized I had been too careless. I had suppressed it, but it is a Sky Sovereign I am talking about, and an artificer at that, who has a keen sense, due to their profession.
"Relax, I am not going to harm you," he said, seeing the alarm on my face and even taking a step back to calm my nerves.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHe smiled, but soon his expression turned serious.
"I can see you are being careful with forbidden energy, but be more careful in the future," he said in all seriousness.
I relaxed a little, but still remained vigilant.
"How did you find out? I had been very careful with it," I asked after I calmed down enough.
"I knew someone who had the forbidden power. So, I know all the signs and created something that helped them hide it better," he replied, with his eyes turning reminiscent.
There was silence for nearly a minute before he turned to me.
"I have given you my life's work. I hope you will learn and reach the heights. I couldn't," he said.
"I will try," I replied.
He smiled hearing that and slowly faded away and with it, the malachite door appeared in front of me. At the same time, the chair I was sitting on begin to turn into dust, that I stood up immediately.
A second later, it had completely turned into the dust.
'Such a regret. I wanted to take at least some runes with me,' I thought, before shaking my head.
I looked around a small hall and saw there was nothing else there. I walked toward the malachite gate and opened it, before walking out.
I stepped back into the giant hall, where I fought the Snow Werewolf, but did not get out. I am in no state to get out, with all the pain and these new memories and experience, that belong to me.
So, I took out the abode and get inside it, before entering my bedroom.
I lay on the bed and close my eyes to sleep, but even after a few minutes, the sleep did not come.
The buzzing pain in my head isn't willing to let me sleep.
Buzz!
Seeing that, I activated formation, and a couple of seconds later; I begin to feel sleepy. A few minutes after that, I slowly fell asleep.
I had slept for fifteen hours before I woke up.
The pain is gone and so is the tiredness and all the experiences had been sorted out.
Feeling like I am myself again, a small smile appeared on my face.
"Artificing," I muttered as I looked at those memories and experiences. They are mine, along with all the knowledge of metals and others. It is quite heavy knowledge, but one that will be very useful to me.
My clone had already started practicing it.
My current skill in artifice could be said to be in Grade 2, but it is not enough. I would need to be in grade 4 before I am ready to reach the Sovereign, which shouldn't be difficult.
With impartation, I have all the knowledge and experience; I just need to practice it and I have assigned that job to one of my clones.
Still, I can believe the knowledge I had received. Not only of artifice but of other things. I have lived as Sovereign, felt that power, that energy, and the core.
My clones had already summarized it, with the time I was sleeping and making some changes in the inheritance. Those are not big changes, but they will prepare me for Sovereign.
It won't take them long to make those changes; they will be ready before I make a breakthrough into Primary III.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmI got up from the bed and freshened up, before walking into the kitchen and cooking myself dinner.
An hour later, I am finished and eating alone.
I wanted to go out immediately, but I couldn't since it was a night. So, I started with my method, and since the first night; I had not used the treatments.
Hours passed when I was finished, but there was a smile on my face. I am nearly finished, a session more and I would be done with treatments of forbidden energy, till I make a breakthrough.
Speaking of forbidden energy, I have to be careful and have more protection.
He could detect it because of his level, and his familiarity with it, but it is no excuse to be lax. I need to create something that will stop anyone detect forbidden energy, even if they are levels higher than me.
Which is harder than it looks, but not as hard as one imagined it to be.
Forbidden is energy different; it would be undetected. Even if I used it in front of Sovereign.
It could only be detected by someone who had intimate contact with it or had experience with it and even then; they wouldn't be able to detect it unless I used it in front of them.
Still, as the difference in level goes higher, the chances of detection would increase and that is the thing I have to be careful of.
I thought for a few minutes before entering my core. The first thing I saw was my clone working on artificing. It had been doing that non-stop, the moment I walked out of the door.
Looking at the progress, a smile couldn't appear on my face.
What it achieved in a day would have required it a month to achieve. It is the power of impartation. While the impartation was not perfect as bloodline impartation, it was really great.
The artifact he designed had let him achieve that without causing me the slightest harm.
I will need to be at least a Grade 3 artificer before I will be able to work on my breakthrough formation.
I need to make it efficient, and currently, it is not.
I am only using it at around 20% efficiency. The resources I used in it are amazing. I need to use them at their full potential; it would help me tremendously in a breakthrough.
