Chapter 18
Pheobe’s POV
My mood was utterly foul. | knew it, | could feel it. | went to bed each night like a tensed woman and awoken the
next morning like a mad one. | hated feeling so out of control of things, of people.
Dante had been not been aloof after his behaviour at the restaurant but he was less adamant on pacifyingas
he used to be before when | would becupset about even the smallest of things. He had tried to make
conversation withbut | had ignored him.
| would deal with Dante later when | had less important things on my mind at present like the disappearance of
my boyfriend. Days had gone by and | couldn't find Dimitri. He didn’t answer any of my calls and when | tried
calling him again, his phone was off.
It was like he didn’t want to be found, like he didn’t want to engage with any one or was it just me? If that was
the case, | would make him pay for it
We have made plans for our life together. We wanted a future with each other and a comfortable one at that. It
was exactly why | was doing what | was doing. For him. For us. We deserved a good life together despite the
means that that life would cfrom.
But before we could run along and live out our fantasies, there were matters that needed to be taken care of.
Issues that | needed his assistance and expertise to carry out. It was impossible forto do it by myself and it
was why the man needed to answer his goddamn phone!
“You barely touched your breakfast.” Dante pointed out over his espresso.

We had breakfast this morning on the balcony underneath the bright sun. | hated it since the sun. hurt my
sensitive eyes and the breeze blew my hair about.
“I do not feel to eat.” | muttered and be looked atover his cup.
He placed that small cup to the table and leaned forward fixing his eyes on mine. “I don’t know how many times
to apologize, Pheobe. Please forgive me.” His tone was gentle but he was still doing it to get it over with and not
because he was genuinely sorry.
“I'm not ready to.” | refused to meet his eye and | gathered all my hair together to keep from flying in my face.
“Ugh, why are we eating out here when it's so damn windy?!” It was a horrible idea.
| pushed my plate away fromthen got up and stormed back in to the house. This was madness. | needed to
get a grip. | needed to get away from here for a day. | needed to destress.
The migraine that had not leftfor the past few days returned and | massaged my temples. roughly. | needed
a spa day to help deal with my nerves. A nice deep tissue massage will do the trick and then sshopping
after that.
| called the spa place and made an emergency appointment which they never refused. No one dared to refuse
would see the car driving away from the balcony and connect the
dots.

Good. Let him wallow in his guilt. It would only make his redemption better.
After that deep tissue massage, my shoulders felt amazing but my mood was still awful. | knew that there was
sthing that would mend that until | found Dimitri and knew exactly what was going on with him.
| gave my head a shake and sauntered through the boutiques one after the other buying what ever | could get
my hands on and never once looking at the price and even that half failed to lift up my sour mood.
By the end of it | had given up and had countless bags fill the back of the car.
“Are you ready to go home, madam?” The chauffer had asked trying hard to hide his judgement and failing
miserably.
“I will tell you when | am ready to go home. Your job is not to askif I'm done. Your job is to take my
instruction and not question me.” | berated him aiming all my anger at him.
“On second thought, you go home. I'll find my way.” He didn’t utter a word but got back in the car and drove off..
| wandered through the busy street until my feet hurt from the heels and uneven ground and | settled on the
bench to catch my breath.
I leaned my head back, soaking up the sun but it lasted a second before a cloud blocked it from my face. |
groaned thinking why the heck couldn’t any thing go right in my life for once.
My eyes fluttered open and instead of a cloud blocking the sun from my face, it had been. very upside down view
of the man | was searching for.

My b*dy sprung out of the bench as | made sure | was seeing correctly. Dimitri stood there behind. the bench
looking dashing as ever. His face was all clean shaven and he got himself a haircut. The all black attire he had on
made him look knee shakingly handsome.
“Dimitri?!” | reached out to touch his muscular arm making sure it was him and | was not imagining
it all
“My Pheobe.” He responded and his voice was like music to my ears.
| withdrew my hand before balling it in to a fist and slamming it against his chest many times but he letuntil
| gave up.
“You didn’t tellthat your sentence was so close to coming to an end. | went looking for you, | tried calling you
over and over again but you didn’t even return a single call of mine.” | waiting for him to givean explanation.
Dimitri’s tanned skin shifted as he lowered his face to mine. He didn’t say a word but k*ssedlike
a mad man.
“I missed you too.” He grumbled but | moved away from him.
