The ride to Zhang Liling's place was almost quiet throughout, except from her voice directing him on the turns to make.
Zhang Liling was still not in the mood to have talks, and Fang Bingwen understood.
As long as she did not cry, he would not disturb her thoughts.
Zhang Liling was still feeling sad concerning her mother's health challenges. There were other things she was supposed to speak with Mr. Fang about, but she thought it was not important.
The only way for her mind to calm down was if she went to Paris to see her mother for herself.
When she gets there and after understanding her mother's situation, she will know how long it would take her to return.
One thing for sure, was that she would never abandon her mother, and she prayed in her heart that he would understand and hold on for her to return.
A few minutes later...
"Are you okay?" Mr. Fang asked as he looked at her with furrowed brows.
He had to nudge her with his elbow just to get her attention since calling out her name did not work.
"Huh?... Yes, I'm fine." Zhang Liling replied before shifting her gaze back to her surrounding only to note that they had arrived at her apartment building.
"When did we get here?" She asked as she instinctively unclapsed her seatbelt before letting it go.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Just now." He replied as he turned off the car's engine and proceeded to unclapse his seatbelt.
Just now, she was lost in thoughts that she failed to not when they had arrived.
In her head, she was already picturing her beautiful mother's face looking do downcasted.
Helping herself out of the car, she closed the car door and allowed her gaze to glance at the tall apartment building while waiting for Mr. Fang to come over to her side.
Almost a the lights in every apartment were turned on. It looked like a lot people were still about to retire for the night.
"Are you cold?" Mr. Fang's gentle voice asked as he came to stand beside her.
Looking at her wearing such a thin dress, he was worried.
Zhang Liling followed his gaze to her clothes and only noticed now that she was in her pyjamas. Heat rose to her face as her cheeks turned a shade of pink.
She was embarrassed.
Managing to glance at him after raising her head slightly, she saw that he was dressed so casually and even felt more embarrassed.
At least he was dressed better she was.
Shaking her head in denial, she continued in her steps, leading the way for him.
Mr. Fang quickly followed after her. Befire they left the house, he had noticed the kind of clothe she was putting on, but didn't think it was too bad to come out with.
The current dress she was putting on was for sleeping, even though it could pass off as a casual dress because of the delicate design, but he did not mind.
The reason she was embarrassed was because she was not putting on anything underneath her dress and rememberinv how she had hugged him in his bedroom, and even coming outside with it.
Zhang Liling was quick in her steps, but because Mr. Fang had long legs, he easily caught up with her.
Taking the elevator together, they got to the floor of her apartment. On getting to her door, she keyed in her password before pushing the door open and letting them both inside.
This was Fang Bingwen's first time in her place, and it was normal for him to take a look around, but he didn't. Instead, he changed his shoes while asking, "Do you need my help inside?"
Zhang Liling turned to him. "No, please sit. I will be back in a few minutes." She said before heading inside.
A long sigh fell of his lips and her sneaked his hands inside the front pocket of his pants as his gaze darted all over the living room.
He liked how the designs and furnishings were kept simple. Most of them were to his taste, but this was not the time for admiration.
Taking one last look at the sitting area, he tilted his gaze back to the oath in front of him before walking forward.
Zhang Liling had asked him to remain seated, but he wouldn't listen.
Since she was in the bedroom probably already packing up, he decided to go to the kitchen to see if there was anything he could put away.
From her bedroom, while pulling out a small travel bag from her walk-in closet, she heard the small sounds coming from the kitchen.
Her brow raised as her ear perked up to listen carefully. Confirming that the sounds were actually coming from the kitchen, she wondered. "What is Mr. Fang doing in the kitchen?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe next hour, Zhang Liling and Fang Bingwen were already on their way back to his villa. There were only a few cars on the road, so he sped up a little bit so they could arrive early.
Zhang Liling still needed to finish packing the things in his place.
Thankfully, Ms. Chu and the Butler were still awake and waiting for them with the lights in the house still turned on. With his much helping hands, things could go a lot faster.
It wasn't untill Mr. Fang helped to take her bag out from the trunk did Zhang Liling realize that he actually drove her to her place.
This was the first time she was seeing him drive, and she happened to be the cause for it.
Seeing as he was always driven around by his chauffeur or Bolin, she almost thought that he didn't know how to drive.
Releasing a soft sigh, she blamed her messy head from causing her to think slowly.
That night, Ms. Chu helped her to pack all her things in the villa.
Since she had no idea of when she would return, it wouldn't be good for dust to ruin her things, so they also had to be packed up in luggages.
After 2 hours, Zhang Liling finally had everything she needed secured and finally released a sigh of relief as she sat at the foot of her bed.
After thanking the hosuekeeper, she left, and now, she was finally alone.
Now that she got the chance, she took out her phone and opened the chat with her mother on her social media handle.
Skipping the bad news she had typed, she clicked on the document she sent to her.
When it opened, her sight saw the plane ticket for her flight the next day
'I'm leaving City S tomorrow?'
She thought of the irony of the whole matter. She was still feeling like she was immersed in a movie and forced to take on a role she would never accept willingly.
