Zhao Lifei sighed at the eager look on Yang Ruqin’s face. "Just give me ten minutes to get ready and then my ears are all yours." She said as she sat up on the bed, pressing a blanket to her chest to ensure it didn’t slip off.
Yang Ruqin happily nodded her head, clapping her hands in glee. "Hurry! Hurry!"
"Why are you telling my wife to hurry up?" Yang Feng snarled, storming into the room with a furious expression. A shadow covered his face, his fists clenched tightly. He had finished a meeting when he received word that his trespassing sister had pushed her way through the security.
"Yang Feng." Zhao Lifei’s eyes widened. She was perplexed by his sudden entry. Her eyes drifted to the clock and she saw that it was a quarter to eleven. "What are you doing here?"
Yang Feng crossed the distance to her with his lips thinned. He cupped her face, kissed her on the forehead, and hugged her to his stomach. He covered her ears for what he was going to say next. "If you don’t leave, I will have you tossed out of the house and in a car straight to the main mansion."
Yang Ruqin’s nostrils flared. "She’s my best friend and sister-in-law! What rights do you have to prevent her from talking to me?" Her voice grew quieter towards the end when Yang Feng gave her a scathing glare.
"My wife needs her rest and you’re disturbing it."
Yang Ruqin hated it when he used passive-aggressive ways of dealing with her. Even though he was infuriated by her, his voice was still calm. He kept his composure, a frosted mask over his face. The only way she knew he was angry was by the glint in his eyes.
Zhao Lifei knew a conversation was happening, but she didn’t know what they were saying. Raising her head, she stared at him with curiosity. She touched the hands on both sides of her face. It caught his attention instantaneously. He caressed her cheek and glanced down at her, releasing her ears a bit.

Zhao Lifei’s brows knitted together in worry, forming creases on her forehead. She didn’t want to be the cause of the siblings’ rift. She could tell they were getting more and more distant whenever she was present.
"You shouldn’t talk to your sister like that. Qinqin did nothing wrong. She only wanted to have a conversation with me. We could’ve had it yesterday night but you just had to sit down between us."
Yang Feng’s eyes flashed with an unreadable emotion. His fingers tightened around her face, squeezing it. "I only want your attention on me at all times. Only me. No one else."
Zhao Lifei’s heart drummed. She didn’t know if she should laugh or cry at his words. It warmed her heart, but it made her uneasy at the same time. She shook her head, "But I need my alone time as well. Qinqin keeps me sane and she’s one of my closest friends."
Yang Feng resorted to stroking her face, deep in thought. "Will it make you happy if I allow her to stay?"
Zhao Lifei didn’t know she was frowning until his thumb brushed against the corner of her lips. He released a side of her cheek to soothe the lines on her forehead. She slowly nodded her head. "I would be very happy."
Zhao Lifei pinpointed the beginning of his sullen behavior. She wrapped her arms around her man-child and rested her face upon his stomach. He always towered over her, but now that she was sitting down, his face seemed unreachable. "You get to see me every day, but Qinqin doesn’t. I dearly miss her presence and the conversations we’ve always shared."
Yang Feng’s lips twitched. He could never remain angry at her, especially when she freely spoke her thoughts and shared what was bothering her. He let out a reluctant sigh, his arms hugging her shoulders. "Alright then." He grabbed the blankets and wrapped it around her entire body like a dress. He then lifted her and went into their walk-in closet.
"Does your body still hurt?" He worriedly asked, setting her onto a chair in the large closet. He grabbed a dress for her to easily move around in.
"A bit..." She lied. The truth was, everything hurt, especially her thighs.
"I had a tonic prescribed for you. It’s being prepared by the servants. Drink it while it’s warm." Yang Feng told her, taking off the blanket and helping her into a millennial pink dress. Seeing as it was a bit windy today, he made her wear a loose, wool cardigan.
"Is it bitter?" Zhao Lifei’s nose crinkled at the idea.
Yang Feng let out a hearty chuckle, bending down onto one knee. "Yes, but you will have a sweet and dried plum to suck on while you drink it." He carefully grabbed her ankle and slipped on a pair of tennis shoes for her. He treated her like she was fragile and would break in a second.
"Y-you didn’t have to..." She shyly said, referring to how he was helping her put on her shoes. For a Young Master like him to do something so below him, she felt guilty. He raised his head and she felt the cupid’s arrow pierce through her heart again.
"I want to."
She jumped when he kissed her pale knee before standing up to his full height. She felt so bad, she began to think of ways to repay him.
"Besides, when you’re in the process of giving me my soccer team of children, you won’t be able to tie or put on your shoes. The belly might get in the way. It’s a good way for me to start practicing now." Yang Feng cupped her face and kissed her on the forehead. Her eyes fluttered shut when he kissed her lashes, her nose, both sides of her face, and then her chin. One of her hands was clenching his upper arm and the other unknowingly latched onto his tie.
"Where’s the kiss for my lips?" She pouted, batting her pretty little lashes at him.
Yang Feng’s eyes hungrily darkened. His fingers curled around her chin and he bent his head to thoroughly kiss her.

Zhao Lifei let out a surprised cry. The trance was broken and she was in a panic, pushing him away.
"I hope she enjoys her lectures back at the mansion." He growled, wrapping his arms around her. He comfortingly rubbed her back and kissed her on the side of her head.
"I-it’s fine. I didn’t brush my teeth yet."
"I would’ve still kissed you." He deadpanned, walking over to the closet door and ready to slam it shut. It was sound-proof here once the doors were closed.
Zhao Lifei opened her arms wide, looking at him with a puppy face. "Carry me to the bathroom please?"
Yang Feng bit his bottom lip. Goodness, what was he going to do about his rapidly thumping heart? He originally wanted to kiss her silly here, but now that she was behaving so lovable, he couldn’t do all of the dirty things he wanted to do to her. "You don’t even have to ask." He strolled to her and bent down to lift her. He carried her like a child, her legs dangling on both sides of him.
Zhao Lifei buried her face into his shoulder blades with a silly smile on her face. "I like it when you hug and carry me." She babbled, sighing in content.
Yang Feng nearly missed a step at her words. "Good. I’ll never keep my hands off of you then." He walked out of the closet and straight towards the bathroom.
Yang Ruqin angrily punched the pillow when she saw the loving couple. Her brother was whispering sweet nothings into her Feifei’s ears again!
’Now I can’t distract her!’ She complained inside of her head. Of course, he would have a strategy in carrying her. He was deliberately making sure Zhao Lifei’s face was on the other side and neither of the women could see each other properly.
