Chapter 245
Wasyl's smile was cryptic as he revealed, "That's old news. He's a senior captain now, in charge of a thousand soldiers. His standing in Northern Biskeland is quite significant. There's a buzz that he's on track to beca general before he hits thirty."
Cheryl gasped, her eyes lighting up with glee as she blurted out, "Are you saying Trevyn's back in town to take Liam down and settle the score for Patrick?"
"Yep, that's part of it. He's also here to celebrate Mr. Hughes's big birthday bash! And sure, Liam might get sperks for serving in the war zone, but does he really stand a chance against Trevyn, the big shot in Northern Biskeland?"

Cheryl grinned wickedly. "I'm just dying to see Liam get what's coming to him when he faces Trevyn, hahaha..."
With that, the two of them were back at it, their laughter echoing through the office.
After a short break at home, Celena headed back to work, reminding Liam to spend squality twith Jovie. So, off they went, hitting the town. They started with the amusement park nearby, then zipped over to the mall. At the dessert stand, Jovie's eyes were glued to the ice cream display. She turned to Liam with a sweet, pleading look.
"Daddy, daddy... I really want sice cream! Can we get some, pretty please?"
Liam could not help but smile at Jovie's adorably forlorn expression. He gently tapped her nose and then, with Jovie in his arms in front of the dessert stand, whispered, "Of course, sweetheart. Daddy
would never say no to you, but remember, just one, okay?"
Jovie's joy was infectious as she hugged Liam's neck and promised with a clear, bright voice, "Yep, I know, just one. Too many will givea tummy ache!"

It was not long before Jovie's eyes lit up at the sight of the children's play area. She dashed off excitedly, but suddenly, a crowd appeared, with a group of stern-looking bodyguards escorting a tall woman. Jovie bumped into one of the guards, who shoved her to the ground with unnecessary roughness.
Jovie could not handle the harsh push and tumbled down, smacking her head on the floor, and immediately burst into tears, holding her forehead. "Wah... Daddy... it hurts so much..."
Jovie had hit the corner of a wall, and a large bump formed instantly. There she sat, wailing at the top of her lungs. The guard, unyielding and mean, looked ready to kick her while she was down.
Seeing his little girl in distress, Liam dropped everything and bolted toward her.
