Candice paused and then walked in.

When Alex heard Kayla calling out, he turned and looked.

His dark eyes glared at Candice. After a moment, he let out a sneer and said, “What took you so long?”

Candice paused and looked down before saying, “I’m sorry. This is my problem. Something urgent

cup.”

Her tone was calm, and her attitude sincere. However, Alex didn’t buy it.

He let out a cold scoff. There was even mocking in his cold eyes, and he said. “You have so many

emergencies. Last twas your mother, and who is it this time? Your father?”

Candice pressed her lips and said nothing. She quietly waited before saying, “When is the chairman

coming over?”

Alex simply looked at her and said. “You receive news quickly.”

However, no matter what he said, he still took Candice over when Daniel arrived.

Daniel had sissues with Candice’s origin, but he acknowledged her skills.

And for Candice to be able to leave a good impression on Alex’s parents, she learned a lot about

Daniel and Helen’s likes and dislikes.

So when Daniel came, Alex would always let her take care of him.

Candice paused. Her expression didn’t change at all. She then said, “I’ll prepare tea for you.”

Daniel and Helen were the same. They disliked coffee and liked tea.

Candice took out a can of tea leaves and prepared it according to how Daniel liked it. She then

prepared another cup for Alex as well and was going to bring them in on a tray.

However, Julie had just filled the kettle with water and walked out. She ran into Candice from the back,

and the

cups in Candice’s hand shook, and sof them spilled on Candice’s clothing.

Candice frowned slightly and put down the tray.

A large amount of liquid was spilled. It not only splashed her attire, but given that it had just been

boiled, it

was still hot.

Julie paused, her expression fake, as she feigned a smile. “I’m so sorry, Candice. I was looking at my

phone and didn’t see you.”

“But…” She looked at the soaked part of Candice’s shirt in front of her chest. The glee in her eyes was

obvious as she asked, “Are you going to enter like that?”

Candice’s expression was stony as she looked at Julie and asked, “You did it intentionally?”

“Candice.” Sonia’s sweet voice popped out as she smiled and told Candice. “Why don’t you change

your

clothes first?”

Candice looked at the part of her shirt that was wet. It would be quite rude indeed. She glanced at Julie

before

turning to leave.

After she left, Sonia’s soft voice rang again. “Julie, I’ll send the tea first. We shouldn’t let the chairman

wait too

long.”

Julie sneered, “An intern like you bringing tea to the chairman?”

With that, she extended her hands and held the tray.

Candice’s hand was just about to push open the door, but she stopped.

Alex’s indifferent voice cout from inside. “I know.”

“You and Candice have been together for so many years. Clean it up properly. Give her more money if

that’ll do

the work,” Daniel continued. Candice listened to all of it, her mind buzzing.

How ridiculous. She gave her heart to him for eight years, but to others, he was simply toying with her

all those years. Their relationship was disposable with money.
