Ji Qingqing smiled and did not speak. She closed the script and stepped out of the van.
Most of the cast had arrived and occasional sounds of laughter drifted over. Ji Qingqing followed the sound and saw a group of actors huddled together, holding their scripts, and chatting with each other.
Shen Weiwei was among the group.
Though she played a minor character, her character appeared throughout the drama. They managed to fill half of her scenes before her injury. And now that she recovered, she and Ji Qingqing both continued filming.
Thinking of it, Shen Weiwei was quite popular because she was good at interacting with other people. Apart from the male and female lead, she had a close relationship with the rest of the crew.
One of the people spotted Ji Qingqing with their sharp eyes and whispered a few words to the group. A few of them stared at her and their laughter ceased.
Ji Qingqing paid no attention and smiled. Their reactions were expected. After all, the original host had pretty much upset an untold amount of people in the crew before.

She turned back and saw a middle-aged man in his forties or fifties holding a script, beckoning to her. He was casually dressed in a wide-brimmed hat and a pair of glasses perched on his nose.
It was Mr. Zhou, the director of the drama.
“Director Zhou, are you looking for me?”
He pushed his glasses and eyed her from head to toe before nodding head.
“I’ll just cut to the chase, try to keep up with the rest of the cast as soon as possible. Got it?” he said sternly.
“Rest assured, I will,” Ji Qingqing nodded.
“Alright, you have a scene at night, it’s quite an important one. Go find an opportunity to rehearse a few more times with Jiang Su and aim to get lesser NGs later.”
Ji Qingqing was known as the “King of NGs” among the crew. When filming a single scene, she gets at least 10 NGs at a minimum. It was normal for her to receive 20 to 30 NGs in a row. Director Zhou had a headache whenever it was Ji Qingqing’s scene. If not for her vivid and beautiful face, and how much her appearance fitted the character of the second female lead, he would have fired her.
Wen Rou grabbed a chair for her to sit. Ji Qingqing sat down on the chair and had no intention of greeting the rest of the supporting cast. She could see the animosity in their eyes when their gaze met.
There were 7 scenes to be filmed for the day, and they were all scenes where the female and male leads would be interacting with each other. For Ji Qingqing, the scene that she would be filming at night was an important one for the second female lead. It was a scene where she was required to cry while she confessed her feelings to the male lead in the rain. The lines for this were around 400 to 500 words and filled with emotional parts that were difficult to act out.
Seeing that she had to start off with such a hard scene, she sighed.
Then, a shadow hovered over her while she was concentrating on her lines. She looked up and saw that it was Shen Weiwei.
She was standing in front of her holding a cup of coffee with an uneasy expression on her face. “Miss Ji, I’m so sorry for what happened at the company that day,” she apologized softly.
Ji Qingqing looked at the hot cup of coffee in her hands and subconsciously got up, moving half a meter away from her.
What if it splashed onto her?

Ji Qingqing’s reaction made Shen Weiwei look very awkward standing there. “Miss Ji, there’s no need to react like this. I’m here to sincerely apologize for my actions,” she continued.
By then, the busy staff and a couple of actors had more or less noticed the commotion and started watching their interaction.
“You’ve already apologized, so there’s no need to bring this up anymore.”
Shen Weiwei gazed sincerely at her and smiled, “Thank you, Miss Ji. Please accept this cup of coffee as a token of my apology.”
Ji Qingqing reached her hand out to take it. But upon touching the cup’s bottom she realized that it was burning hot and abruptly withdrew her hands. Shen Weiwei was not holding the cup firmly. Just as it looked like it was about to spill onto her, Ji Qingqing reacted quickly. She held the cup’s handle and handed the scalding cup back to Shen Weiwei.
The cup’s bottom was too hot, and the moment Shen Weiwei received it, she instinctively let go of it. Everyone around them watched as her grip loosened and the coffee spilled.
Without waiting for her reply, Ji Qingqing loudly asked “Did it scald you?”
Shen Weiwei’s brows knitted. Although she wasn’t scalded, her clothes had been drenched by the coffee.
“I’m alright.”
