Mom and Dad’s Daily Life (Part 1)
After two months of eating and vomiting, Ji Qingqing ushered in her gluttonous era.
She especially wanted to eat snacks, but pregnant women couldn’t eat indiscriminately. In terms of eating, Aunt Pei controlled her portions very tightly. As long as it was unhealthy, she wasn’t allowed to eat it. She couldn’t even look at it.
“Madam, you’re now a pregnant person. You can’t eat these things indiscriminately. Just tell Aunt Pei what you want to eat. I will make it for you. The ones made outside aren’t clean. Eating them isn’t good for your body and your baby.”
“Don’t, don’t, don’t! I must eat this!”
“You absolutely cannot! This isn’t good for your health. Even if you weren’t pregnant, you have to eat less of this.”
After being caught twice, Ji Qingqing was directly supervised by Aunt Pei 24/7. Aunt Pei emptied the refrigerator and removed the snacks at home, and whenever she craved them, Aunt Pei would immediately begin to preach to her why it wasn’t good to eat such things.
She couldn’t control what she wanted to eat, so she could only find other ways to get her hands on these items.
For example, she asked Lu Lixing to quietly bring her some snacks back once he gets off work.
However, Lu Lixing sided with Aunt Pei. If Ji Qingqing wanted to eat something sour, he could buy her some sour fruits, but what she wanted to eat was fried chicken, coke, and barbecue. Lu Lixing put his foot down when it came to these types of junk food. And it didn’t matter if she was pregnant or not.
Ji Qingqing hit a wall but wasn’t discouraged. Instead, sent a message to Wen Rou, asking her to come over and quietly bring her some snacks.
Wen Rou was different from Lu Lixing and Aunt Pei. She was still young and had a shallow understanding of what was taboo for pregnant women. So when Ji Qingqing asked her to bring something she wanted to eat, she naturally brought it.
But she didn’t pay much attention to the word “quietly” that Ji Qingqing had said.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe came in with a big bag and Aunt Pei was flattered by her warm hospitality.
“Qingqing, are you here?”
Ji Qingqing supported her stomach as she descended down the stairs step by step.
Aunt Pei hurriedly jumped to her feet when she saw Ji Qingqing.
Aunt Pei became more concerned as Ji Qingqing’s belly grew larger and larger. It was inconvenient for her to sit and get up, and she had more leg cramps at night. So, Aunt Pei found various ways to make life easier for her, such as cooking nourishing foods and so on.
As a result, Ji Qingqing quickly rounded visibly to the naked eye.
While Ji Qingqing sat down on the sofa, Aunt Pei put a pillow behind her waist.
Wen Rou looked at Ji’s Qingqing bulging belly and asked, “Sister Qingqing , how many months have you been pregnant?”
“It’s almost nine months and the due date is next month,” Ji Qingqing said softly, touching her bulging belly.
“This child has troubled me so much over the last two days. I haven’t even gotten enough sleep in the last few days. Can you tell if my dark circles are showing?”
“No, your complexion is still as radiant as ever.”
“You’re just trying to make me feel better.”
Wen Rou suddenly looked at the big bag at her feet.
Remembering what Ji Qingqing told her, she asked, “By the way, sister Qingqing, I brought the things you liked to eat. Take a look, are these enough for you?”
“Eat?”Aunt Pei quickly sensed something amiss from her words.“What is it? Let me see.”
Then, she quickly bowed down her head to see what was inside the bag.
Ji Qingqing panicked and hurriedly said lest her snacks were confiscated again, “Aunt Pei, Aunt Pei…”
“What’s the matter?”Aunt Pei looked panicked when she saw Ji Qingqing, and asked in a worried voice, “Is there something uncomfortable?””
“No.” Ji Qingqing stabilized her expression and said hesitatingly, “Umm, please bring Wen Rou some fruit.”
“No, it’s fine, it’s fine.”
Aunt Pei suddenly realized her blindsightedness. “Oh, sure! Blame me, I was negligent.”
While talking, she walked toward the dining room. Whilst Ji Qingqing thought it was a lame excuse, it apparently worked as it successfully diverted Aunt Pei’s attention from the snacks Wen Rou had brought with her.
“Aunt Pei, you really don’t need to…”
Wen Rou got up and wanted to pull Aunt Pei back, but Ji Qingqing grabbed her hand first and whispered hurriedly, “Hurry up and take these snacks you bought for me to my room.”
Wen Rou was startled. Looking at the bags of snacks at her feet, she asked, “Why?”
“Don’t ask why, just hurry up and put it there. The room’s located on the second to the right side of the third floor. I left the door open, hurry up.”
Under Ji Qingqing’s urging, Wen Rou had to carry a few bags of snacks to the third floor. As she entered the open room, she saw the wedding photos of Ji Qingqing and Lu Lixing hanging in the center. Everything went according to plan.
She put the snacks in the room and didn’t dare to stay any longer. She turned around and came down again.

“Come, come, eat some fruit.” Aunt Pei coincidentally came back with a fruit plate.
“Thank you very much.”
Wen Rou glanced at Aunt Pei guiltily, and then looked at Ji Qingqing.
Well, it’s not my fault, I couldn’t help it. There’s always a sacrifice… to help a greater cause.
She didn’t plan to stay for a long time, so after an hour, she got up and left.
Ji Qingqing felt sleepy after chatting with Wen Rou for a while. When Aunt Pei sent Wen Rou out, she got up and sneakily walked toward the room on the third floor. Her heart was full of expectations.
She tearfully thought about the snacks in her room. Finally, she could eat them!
“Madam, slow down.”
Ji Qingqing supported herself with the handrail of the stairs. Turning around, she smiled. “Aunt Pei, I’ll be fine. You can go do your own thing. I’ll head up and sleep for a while.”
After speaking and before Aunt Pei could catch up, she went up and entered the room.
Seeing the snacks that were delivered were placed inside, Ji Qingqing quickly closed the door and locked it.
Potato chips, seaweed, spicy strips…
Ji Qingqing’s eyes were filled with tears when she saw all those tasty snacks.
