Mom and Dad’s Daily Life (Part 3)
Taking care of children was an extremely hard task, which was more tiring than working for three days and three nights in a row.
At least Lu Lixing thought so.
Originally, today was going to be a lovely weekend. The family might be able to spend a good family time, but it was such a pity that Ji Qingqing got up early in the morning to put on makeup, and even dawdled in the cloakroom for half an hour, just to find a suitable dress.
“Husband, I’ll trouble you to take a look at the baby today. I have to attend the TV series press conference. I’ll come back later!”
After a perfunctory kiss, Ji Qingqing hurried out of the door, leaving Lu Lixing no chance to speak up.
Helplessly, he got up, washed, and went downstairs for breakfast. However, Lu Lixing discovered that not only did Qingqing go out, but Grandpa Lu also went out. Not only that, but Aunt Pei also had a day off today.
So, he was the only one left in the entire villa, along with two nannies and several maids.
Nevertheless, Lu Lixing wasn’t very worried. After all, Lu Xingchen, who was usually at home, was taken care of by the nanny.
Lu Xingchen’s name was given by Grandpa Lu, which meant “a sea of stars.” The nickname “Zhouzhou” was given by Lu Lixing to tone down his grand name.
Zhouzhou was already eight months old and grew extremely fast, white and fat. It was just that he was still young at this time, making them unable to guess whose features he took on. Though, his eyebrows looked slightly similar to Lu Lixing’s.
After breakfast, Lu Lixing went upstairs to the study room. He had just worked for less than an hour when he vaguely heard someone crying outside the door.

This child confused him sometimes. He was usually quite well-behaved when he was quiet, but when he cried, it felt like the skies would fall down.
The crying in the villa lasted for quite a while, making Lu Lixing slightly upset. Not able to read his file in silence, he put aside his pen and got up to open the door.
The crying became harsher and harsher as he moved closer to the baby room. Inside, one of the nannies was busy coaxing the child while the other rushed to prepare his milk.
When Lu Lixing came in, the one nanny said with difficulty, “Sir, I’m sorry, I don’t know what happened to Zhouzhou today. He kept on crying non-stop, no matter what I did to coax him.”
Zhouzhou was crying on the shoulder of the nanny. His face was red, full of tear marks, and he was still crying and whimpering.
The other nanny brought the brewed milk powder and fed it to Zhouzhou to drink. But when Zhouzhou bit the pacifier, he immediately spit it out and turned his head away, refusing to drink milk, and continued to cry incessantly.
“Was his weaning successful?”
“No, Zhouzhou has only been drinking formula these days.”
Weaning was a difficult process for a baby during infancy. During the weaning process, Zhouzhou only drank formula and breast milk. He would rather starve himself rather than eat, which caused him to cry.
Ji Qingqing felt heartbroken, and secretly fed him a few times but didn’t succeed in weaning him. Later, Lu Lixing found out and was forced to wean him.
“No fever, no pee either…” The two experienced nannies were at a loss for what to do next.
Zhouzhou cried so much that he hiccuped. His nose was red and he looked at Lu Lixing tearfully. Not knowing why, he reached out his fat little hand toward Lu Lixing.
The nanny hurriedly said, “Sir, do you want to hold him?”
At home, Lu Lixing rarely held the little guy, not because of anything else, but because he usually came home late from work, so Zhouzhou had long gone to bed. And on weekends, he was always held by Ji Qingqing and Grandpa Lu, so he couldn’t get involved.
Seeing that Lu Lixing didn’t come to hug him, Zhouzhou cried more and more sadly. But he didn’t retract his outstretched hand and still stretched out to Lu Lixing. Zhouzhou’s short legs were also kicking about in the arms of the nurse.
Upon seeing this, the nanny hurriedly carried Zhouzhou over. As soon as Zhouzhou grabbed Lu Lixing’s shirt, he tightly held on to it.
“Sir, look at this…”
Zhou Zhou was trying hard to crawl toward Lu Lixing, making it hard for the nanny to hold him.
Lu Lixing, seeing the child’s pitiful gaze, reached out and picked him up.
The child’s face smelled of milk.
Strangely enough, Zhouzhou, who was crying non-stop in the nanny’s arms, gradually stopped crying as soon as he reached Lu Lixing’s arms. He lay on Lu Lixing’s shoulders very reliantly, holding onto his shirt and sniffling.
Lu Lixing carefully held Zhouzhou’s little butt wearing a diaper and gently patted his back with his other hand.
With such a small bundle in his arms, Lu Lixing held him like he would to a delicate porcelain doll, not daring to use any force.
“It turned out that Zhouzhou wanted his father to hold him! See how he suddenly stopped crying.”
The nanny took a tissue and wanted to wipe Zhouzhou’s tears, but Zhouzhou didn’t want her to get close, so he turned his head to hide from her.

Lu Lixing took the tissue from the nanny and gently wiped the tears from Zhouzhou’s face.
“Sir, let’s give the child some milk. He woke up early in the morning and hasn’t eaten anything yet.”
Lu Lixing took the baby bottle again and fed it to Zhouzhou, who didn’t resist.
He drank it all in a few sips and lay wilting against Lu Lixing’s shoulder, probably too tired from crying earlier.
Lu Lixing hugged him awkwardly and coaxed him. Seeing that he was about to fall asleep, he quietly put him in his crib.
Unexpectedly, as soon as the child touched the bed, he woke up immediately and cried when he saw Lu Lixing and stretched his hands, wanting Lu Lixing to hold him.
“Lu Xingchen!” Lu Lixing was not used to this, so he reprimanded him in a low voice.
But what does this little kid know? He only knew that his dad was being fierce. Being yelled at, he became scared. His mouth hung down and tears fell off of his eyes again.
In desperation, Lu Lixing was left with no other choice but to pick Zhouzhou up again and coax him.
Lying on Lu Lixing’s shoulders, Zhouzhou hiccuped sadly, feeling wronged.
“Sir, Zhouzhou’s probably a little uncomfortable today. If you have nothing to do, why don’t you hold him for a while?”
Lu Lixing looked at Zhouzhou’s fleshy little hand clinging to his shirt and didn’t speak. He simply nodded his head and walked out of the room with Zhouzhou in his arms.
The baby who was crying endlessly a minute ago was now lying in Lu Lixing’s arms, totally well-behaved.
