Great Sorcerer, Nurture (2)
A beautiful forest fairy dancer was born after three hours of unknown yet fierce dancing in the middle of the Mother Forest. Meanwhile, Evan taught the dwarves and the humans using his training methods.
“Are you sure that trying hard like this will make our physical abilities grow?”
“While you guys are totally into the training, I’ll take care of the shelter and the food. So, trust and follow me.”
“We believe you!”
“Zero!”
There was no need for an explanation for Evan’s training nor its detailed effects. Everyone was already following him with just an assurance of a secured life! Evan was the one that gave them the order, but he was worried whether they were able to do it or not.
“But, Master, will they be fine?”
Maybell, who spent three hours teaching Sharay the basics of mana manipulation, whispered into his ear anxiously.
“The training manual you’ve prepared, along with the archery skills which Mirole is learning, the magic tool you’ve given to Sharay, and the basic combat technique which a lot of people will learn in the future…all these are highly valued information that isn’t even known in the present times, so if they are to cause huge impacts, the changes made in the world can’t be taken back!”
“Making them capable of surviving is the most important thing right now. And there are ways to stop the information from spreading. Maybell, you seem to forget sometimes, but I’m a master in alchemy.”
How would Evan not consider the time paradox when he spent all day thinking about it? Moreover, there was something that mattered the most.
“You are a succubus queen. Don’t you know how to make the Demon’s Pact?”
“Ah, come to think about it, I am a Demon, after all. Yes, it’s not hard to impose a condition on the spirit and make them keep a secret!”
Maybell sounded absurd sometimes, but this was stupidity at its climax. Maybell stared at Evan oddly earlier, but it was his turn to do so now. But Maybell blushed at his stare and tried to kiss his cheek, so maybe there was a misunderstanding in the meaning.
“However, it would be more accurate to say that I wasn’t that worried about it.”
“Why?”
“Because we are in God’s Era.”
Maybell tilted her head. Evan smiled bitterly as he explained further.
“Think about the orcs we just killed yesterday. They weren’t able to maintain their forms until the present days.”
“Didn’t they become weaker as time passed by? Their energies that are rampaging now calm down, and as generations pass by, their power subsides…”
“Even the Demons that outlive humans become that weak, so do you think the descendants of humans can maintain their powers for that long?”
“Ah.”
In the present time, the power of humans grew stronger as time passed by and their knowledge and information were gathered. But that was possible when they had the method to record the knowledge they have. Besides, such records could be destroyed. It could be considered impossible for those records to maintain their forms when centuries went by.
“And if things are like that, it’s over. The training method and attribute training which I’m teaching are simple, but they require precision. The possibility of the success in knowledge being passed down to the next generation is lower than the Demon King killing the Devil and taking the crown.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“You seem to use the Demon King as your example a lot these days.”
That was expected since all these troubles were because of him. Evan changed his topic by saying, “Either way.”
“This much change won’t affect the present time, so no need to worry about it.”
“Okay…yes, but no. It came to mind after hearing your words, but perhaps it’s because you’ve taught them your techniques; in the future, they were able to…”
“Huh?”
“No, it’s nothing. I just wanted to kiss you.”
“That’s not what you wanted to say.”
“So be it. Smooch, smooch.”
Maybell smiled with satisfaction after finally receiving a kiss from him. Mirole, who was passionately dancing in an empty area, seemed to blankly stare at them, but Evan ignored it. He wouldn’t let her stop dancing.
“Then, now.”
It was time to investigate Miraseul’s necklace. Although their combat techniques were good enough with what Evan had taught them, he wanted to make those level 1 crowds stronger with the slimes.
‘But somehow, I’m getting a feeling that it’s impossible.’
Why something was telling him that he could no longer spawn the slimes with the necklace. Perhaps it fulfilled its mission by sending Evan back to the past…or, rather, it had exceeded its functionality. Then no answers would arise from asking which stage it was at, so Evan was lost in thought while holding Miraseul’s necklace.
‘But thanks to the enhancements so far, its options, mana increase, and mana regeneration speed, have increased.’
After reaching an unprecedented height with his existence level based on Must Save’s reaction, it was probably maxing out the dungeon level. Evan’s base regeneration and mana regeneration were huge, but they differed a lot if he didn’t equip the Miraseul’s necklace. Considering that his main skill, Annihilation, ate up a huge amount of mana, he couldn’t afford not equipping it even if its slime summon skill was gone.
“I can sense a strong trace of magic. I am always curious about how you lift the seal of this item.”
“I’m concentrating my power as we speak.”
It seemed like Maybell tried to distract him and. Still, as Evan concentrated on Miraseul’s necklace and ignored her, Maybell also stared at it.
“But it’s really amusing how this small artifact had the time magic that sent us to God’s Era…”
“…”
Evan was still maintaining his focus.
“Time magic is an unexplored area which even the Devil wasn’t able to learn. Well, I was amazed when you were able to endlessly summon those slimes.”
“…”
Counting the number of jewels or remembering the order, the jewels started to shine.
“A time-related artifact isn’t common, you know. Where did those endless slimes come from…?”
“Maybell, what did you say?”
“Ah, at last, you looked at me. Smooch.”
And he got kissed again. But it wasn’t the time to play along with the Succubus, whose limits were gone. As Evan looked around speechlessly, Maybell laughed and gave him the answer he wanted.
“Master, don’t tell me you just regarded this necklace as an artifact that only summoned endless slimes?”
“Well…what other possibility did it have?”
“Woah, slimes are creatures, so how can it create them out of thin air with just the power of an artifact? That’s a Godlike power.”
Her words were true. Although it was a long time ago, there was a time when elite slimes were tamed by Selena as if they waited for the time to be summoned.
“Wait a minute, that means…what?”
“Master, you are a clever person, but sometimes you aren’t at all. The reason is because the necklace draws out a slime from a place that’s filled with them at a specific point in time.”
“…”
Evan nodded as he recalled the way Miraseul’s necklace worked. Evan did think about changing the size of the slimes or their type before summoning them. So, he unconsciously thought that he was creating the slimes when they were summoned, but that was wrong when he thought about how the elite slimes were summoned. If adjusting the slimes’ sizes was a part of the artifact’s functions, Maybell was correct…
“Thus, are you saying Miraseul’s necklace is merely a tool that pulls out the slimes that existed in a certain place?”
“I believe someone who was extremely fond of slimes collected them in a subspace. Of course, the slimes would have reproduced themselves in that place. No, rather, that person intentionally made it happen that way. And that is how slimes were able to multiply that much.”
“Who the hell…what kind of a freak created a terrible mountain of slimes?”
“I don’t want to hear that from someone who killed all those stored-up slimes.”
“All of them?”
“Yes, you’ve eliminated them all.”
Maybell smiled quietly.
“Then, I believe slimes won’t be summoned anymore, will they? Then I assume that the place that’s connected with the necklace is now empty.”
“…”
Evan looked at Maybell, who blushed as she stared at Evan’s handsome look. He held her by the chin when she tried to look away from the embarrassment and thrill, and he gave her a serious kiss.
“…!?”
“Maybell, you are a genius.”
“Haa, Hwahhh.”
The Succubus Queen, who indulged in physical affection with Evan whenever she wanted, fell down with a cute moan since she was always fragile when Evan took the initiative. He laid her down and focused on the necklace. There was no way he wouldn’t take the hint. It felt like he finally understood a bit about the artifact.
“Maybe reverting the time back is just the beginning of the reset…wait, I’m still uncertain about that part, though.”
However, now he knew how to activate the artifact. There was a spell that he already knew.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Ahem.”
After clearing his throat, he took a look around for no reason. Thankfully, everyone was busy with their own work.
“With Slimes…”
That’s right; there were several questions about that spell from the start.
“I want to create a hill…”
‘Okay, I’ll accept the part that I need to chant the spell backward.’
But the spell that went by wanting to conquer the universe with the slimes seemed way off rather than wanting to create a hill full of slimes.
“With slimes…”
Yup, it was intentional from the start. The chanting order, the beginning, and the end of the sentence were interchangeable!
“I want to conquer the universe!”
―Tssssssk
As Evan chanted the spell in the right way, which was even more irritating than when he chanted it backward, a sparkling light came out from the necklace, but Evan didn’t even flinch. He felt a strong suction from the necklace along with its light. No, rather, it was sucking in the light itself. It looked like a mini black hole. There was no sense of hostility now, but the possibility of this power being redirected with the Annihilation was…
‘Wait, this isn’t the given functionality of this artifact.’
Evan calmly touched Miraseul’s necklace, controlling the suction. Strictly speaking, it only targeted Evan…and drew him into the world connected with the necklace.
“…”
Evan opened his eyes after experiencing the warp. He was already different from the Mother Forest: a wide grassland where the horizon could be seen. A cool wind under the bright sun blew past him, carrying the sound of falling water. Evan realized he was the only person existing in that world and that it was neither God’s Era nor the present time.
“So, it really did exist. The world where the slimes were locked up…”
Maybe the Yo-Ma Great War 3 addicts would be pleased if he were to share this information with them. They might jump into that place while being happy about a new map getting released. But, of course, they would have to summon and kill all the slimes. Evan strolled in that world for a while. Still, he returned to the original world after confirming that there were no animals and plants, even though it had all the right conditions to nurture an organism. He was able to exit from that place by chanting the spell backward.
“Master!? Did you really go into the world where the slimes were at?”
“Ah, Yup…well.”
Evan consoled Maybell after she jumped on him and caressed his body upon his reappearance. Mirole was looking at him worriedly after returning from her training.
“Zero, are you all right?”
“Yup. Aside from that, our concern seems to have been solved.”
“Concern?”
“Yup. We were worried about the territory.”
Evan smiled lightly and replied to her.
“I think I can take up to a million more people from now.”
The possibility of a kingdom came to light.
