she, like other ordinary elderly people, enjoyed being with children and cooking. She would even knit scarves for
the younger ones once in a while. Despite the undercurrents among the younger members of the Fuller family,
there was great respect for Allison.
As Lenora changed her shoes, she asked the housekeeper, "Where's Grandpa?"
The housekeeper pointed upstairs, "He's resting, Old Mr. Fuller's spirits haven't been great lately."

The Fuller family's business had been passed down to Gerald by the generation before him, but it truly thrived
under Gerald's leadership. In his youth, he had suffered injuries at work, and as he aged, his health had been
consistently poor. Moreover, he had undergone a liv been on immunosuppressive medications.
"What did Dr. Landon say?" Zachary asked.
The doctor Zachary spoke of was the director of Mercy Hospital, who also served as Gerald's personal physician.
"He can only do his best," cthe response.
Zachary nodded solemnly.
Lenora went to the kitchen to assist Allison.
"Nora, go outside and take a break. No need to help me; | can manage on my own," Allison. insisted, shooing
Lenora away. Lenora protested, "Grandma, I'm just sitting outside with nothing to do. I might as well help
you.
Allison disapproved, giving her a stern look. "How can you say you have nothing to do? Sit outside and talk to

Seeing
nora silent, Allison added, "Did you have a disagreement with Zack? I've seen the news too. Don't worry; I'll
definitely give him a piece of my mind for you."
"Grandma, you don't need to worry about me. Zack and | will handle things between us."
"Don't think I'm oblivious, dear. Zack takes advantage of your good nature to push you around. | know exactly
what that rascal is up to. You'll always be the daughter-in-law of our Fuller family, and that cheeky fellow can
think about divorce only after getting through me." Allison had a clear stance in her mind.

If he wanted a divorce, he could explain it here to Grandpa and Grandma. Let him cand explain it himself.
Lenora wouldn't willingly help him conceal anything, nor would she sabotage things to provoke Allison into taking
her side.
At dinner time, the housekeeper assisted Gerald downstairs, and Zachary went over to lend a
hand.
Lenora helped Allison place the dishes on the table.
Zachary commented, "Grandma, your cooking is as good as ever.
Allison glanced at Lenora, admonishing, "Why don't you praise your wife? She made all these dishes. | can see
you're increasingly overlooking her." Zachary hesitated. "Nora's cooking is also good."
"Perfunctory," Allison quipped.
Zachary sighed.
He knew that with the trending incident, Allison was particularly displeased with him today.
