here.”

She then prepared to leave. These women were obviously here to find fault with her. Things would only
get more and more awkward for her the longer she stayed here, so the best thing to do now would just
be to leave.
But they would not let her leave.
Julia stood in front of her and blocked her way, asking, “What’s the rush? Can’t you just answer our

Serenity looked up and eyed the woman in front of her. She knew then that there was no good way to
end this situation, and since she could neither run nor hide from them, all she could do now was to face
them head–on
“You’re Miss Julia Wayne, correct? Isn’t your family’s convenience store chain being investigated by the
Tax Bureau for tax evasion lately? Why don’t you tell everyone what’s really going on? Is it true that
your family has been evading taxes? If it’s just a misunderstanding, then why don’t you explain to
everyone what caused this mix–up? By the way, I’ve also heard that the officials investigating this
matter seem to have a particularly friendly connection with your family. Would you mind. enlightening
