179 Chapter 178: A trap
Cyrus observed his surroundings a bit longer before moving forward after a moment of thought. Although he didn’t want to approach, he had no other choice. He has some too far to turn his back now. His eyes turned calm as he began approaching. His body stood in mid-air, levitating towards the entrance at the foot of the mountain.
Cyrus’s golden armor shone brightly as a bright golden halo erupted from his body, like a shell.
After traveling in silence for over thirty minutes before reaching the foot of the mountain.
“You seek what you cannot handle, turn back host and I will act like you never came here”
Hearing this Cyrus was stunned and was forced to stop walking as he looked into the back clouds ago and sighed.
“I wish I could do that but it seems that won’t be possible.” Cyrus said with a deep frown. His words seemed true and anyone who didn’t know him would feel like he was forced to come here.
“Impudent!”
“Don’t bullshit me” Cyrus said coldly as he walked forward with a cruel look ok his face.
“There is a limit to what a mere demigod can do here in the mortal plane. The world won’t let you take my life. Your only hope now is the person in there with a weak life force. I’m guessing Damon failed to get to him before me” Cyrus said with frosty eyes.

“I am the last person you would want to anger. I am far more dangerous than the death mage” Cyrus said casually as he flung his hand and his golden aura exploded fiercely, smashing into the enemy barrier but the effect was different from what was expected
Unlike the usual attempts to destroy the barrier with sheer power, but even the ancestral dragon was stunned when it realized what was happening.
Its barrier lit up, improving in power while Damon’s abundant energy flowed in endlessly.
Bang!
The barrier sender to turn golden entirely, surging into Cyrus’ body!
“The life aura is the only power that can innately boost the strength of any other element outside the evil elements,” the dragon ancestor said in a rather calm tone. Something unexpected for someone who owns the title of God of destruction.
“With the foreign energy gladly receiving my power as a juice to boost its power but in exchange, I gain authority over it and control it as my own” Cyrus completed what the ancient dragon was planning to say.
He was unfazed by the fact that the enemy knew a lot about his abilities. For dragons who faced the old gods with the new gods, it would be more shocking if they didn’t know this much about them.
He stepped through the entrance and felt the shift in space and time.
Bam!
Before Cyrus could even try to resist, he found himself standing at the foot of a volcano the size of a mountain. Behind him was an endless volcano and even from the top of the volcano was lava pouring down ruthlessly but that wasn’t what disturbed Cyrus.
It was the figure standing above the volcano with his wings flapping slowly. Fei stood above the volcano and in his hand were dragon head-shaped gauntlets and on his chest was a hole shrouded in darkness with a black eye peeping into the outside world from the injury. The stench of death strongly gripped the enemy, making it impossible for Cyrus not to notice him.
“Since you refused to leave, I will have to keep you here forever” the ancient voice said in a low tone as if it was considering a few things before makings such a statement.
“Hmph!” Cyrus wasn’t moved by such a threat.
“You end up giving a defective child a weapon and think he is able to kill a grown man? Hahahaha! Have you become so desperate that you have to rely on the strength of a weakling like this?” Cyrus chuckled and the face of Fei turned red with anger but strangely he didn’t attack.
Seeing the hesitation, Cyrus smiled cruelly. All this was a trap to start with. He simply needed to confirm how severe the wounds of the enemy us and this is the only way through which he could do it.
The normal host of destruction would run his way, swinging fists or at least trying to drown the world in flames but this time he seemed hesitant.
To protect his sealed artifact, the two dragon hosts were allowed to gather and wield the sealed artifacts as their final line of defense. With the powers of the sealed artifacts, their overall strength would increase incredibly but the question now was how much?
Fei is a damaged good but even then with the sealed artifact, he would easily make a terrifying foe for anyone. What Cyrus needed to do was hold out until his body is unable to bear the burden of the sealed artifact.
“Hahahaha! It’s fun now you think you have the upper hand but I would like you to imagine if the case was reversed. Let’s say one of the hosts is in a bad condition, all alone and undefended. Facing off against a dragon host at his peak with the power of the sealed artifacts on his side. How long do you think this certain host can last?” The ancestral Dragons voice boomed and Cyrus frowned at this.
As soon as he heard this, his mind began racing as he began considering all the possible options. Gin came to his mind but with Elsa Leaf who wields a sealed artifact as well, it’s safe to say it says no one can harm them.
The only one who fits the description is Damon!
He was suffering from the same cultivation defect as Gin and Blink. His soul was broken and badly damaged, and so was his body. In fact, anyone can openly claim the death mage was at his weakest now.

“Damon is no easy foe even at the brink of death he is still the most difficult to kill amongst the four hosts” Cyrus said with a cruel smile as if to mock the words of the ancestral dragon.
...... Meanwhile ........
Damon stood amongst the clouds with a cold look in his eyes. The cloud dragon was gone and was replaced with a familiar figure wielding dual shortswords attached to each other by a simple silver cloth.
Raizen Stormborn gazed at Damon with cruel eyes but didn’t attack. He seemed to be waiting for orders from above before making a move.
“Even now, with the odds stacked against you, do you still wish to fight?” An intimidating voice boomed across the sky and Damon’s frown deepened even more.
“It’s not about what I want to do, but what I have to do... For the sake of my survival and that of my friends, I have to fight” Damon responded with these words and a simple shoulder shrug to show his helpless position on this issue.
“But you don’t seem eager to kill me... why?” Damon asked. He wasn’t so dumb as to believe the ancestral dragon had good plans for him but he wasn’t too dense not to notice the hesitation in the eyes of Raizen.
Although he wanted to fight and kill off Damon now he is weak, it seemed like he was more scared of the ancestral being residing in this area so he couldn’t make a move against Damon without being given the instructions to do so.
“If you were told the correct story of the past events, you would know the dragons are always at war because we can’t seem to agree on one thing. While some of us, think you and your friends should stay alive as insurance to keep the old gods in check, some think it’s best to kill you all. I don’t share the same views” The Ancestral voice boomed but it sounded calmer especially since Damon asked a question it sincerely wanted to ask.
‘This will be difficult’ Damon muttered in his mind as he took a step back to look at what was happening from another perspective.
If Raizen was here to stop him from taking the sealed artifact and is going as far as to possess the sealed artifacts for themselves, what stops this from happening somewhere else?
He believed that he was led to that city as a way of buying time for the dragon hosts to escape. He strongly believes that if he had destroyed that city, he probably wouldn’t have found the two there.
These dragons are tricky!
They are not as dumb as the newer generation!
Damon couldn’t help but shiver at this thought. Getting completely played by the enemy is not something to be proud of or comfortable with.
