Picking Up Beautiful Girls In The Post-Apocalyptic World!

“Oi! Wake the hell up and answer me. What did the elixir do for you?”

“I-I’m sorry, I can’t remember. But the elixir is the greatest thing that ever happened to our people!”

The woman was struggling as there was a contradiction in her mind. She did not have any memory of what the elixir did, but she also wanted to help Han as much as possible! She was suffering as she struggled to try and come up with a solution. Han decided that it would be best to just release them all, if he leaves her like this for longer, then she might suffer permanent mental damage. So he just asked one more question.

“How long have you all been here?”

“This year will be the 1024th since our ancestors came here.”

Holy shit. That long? No matter how Han looked at it, this all seemed very suspicious. Han didn’t have any more questions for the woman so he just released her and allowed the guild house to become rowdy again! Everyone was just acting as though nothing happened and no one even looked at Han.

“Hello, can I help you? Do you want to register as an adventurer?”

The woman behind the counter suddenly asked again and Han waved in the negative and walked out while thinking. There is a possibility that the woman that comes to help these people is a black star as well since none of them can feel her power. Or is she just a powerless person that has some sort of magic elixir? Han hated when he didn’t have all the answers. I guess I have to wait till this evening to find that woman. I’m sure that if she is a black star I will be able to feel her power and I can gauge how strong she is. I need to find out what she is doing with this town.

The guards at the gate said that she would come here tonight so Han decided that he would stay back in the town till night came and then he would try to meet her. Han found an inn on the other side of the town and he was surprised when they granted him a free room. The receptionist told him that there is no currency here and everyone is allowed to sleep in the inn for free. Han didn’t allow the surprise to last for too long. He could understand why they would do something like that. There was no need to have any currency when you live on a secluded floor like this. Their economy is too small for that.

Han went to his room and decided that he would rest for the next few hours. Han was still thinking about the elixir that the woman at the guild told him about. She couldn’t remember what the elixir was for but she could remember that it was good for them. Han suspected that the elixir was some sort of drug that did something to those people. The woman that comes here might have been drugging them. It was none of Han’s business if they were taking drugs, and Han’s main priority now was supposed to be the portal that would take him to the next floor. But Han was just curious about what sort of person this woman was. Han wanted to meet her so he would stay here till she arrives.

Han activated his new skill [Shadow World] and he appeared back in his world. He looked around at the beautiful scenery and he sighed as he fell back on the grass with an oomph! This was the best place for Han to rest. Since he can spend four hours here and only one hour would pass in the real world, Han would rest here for the next twelve hours so that three hours would pass in real-time. Han doesn’t remember the last time he had a full night’s sleep so he knew that this would be his best sleep ever! Before Han could even finish thinking, the gentle breeze and calm sunlight shone on his skin and made him calm down as he went to sleep. Han slept in the [Shadow World] for fourteen hours. He underestimated just how tired he was and he put his hand on his face with a groan as he sat up slowly. He looked to the side to see his egg and he pet it once more before he stood up and deactivated his skill.

Han opened his eyes and the sound of people dancing and singing immediately assaulted his ears! He just woke up so he was fucking annoyed by the noise they were making. What the fuck are these people doing? Don’t they know the meaning of quiet?

Han got off the bed and looked outside the window. The streets below were filled with people that were happily walking toward the center of the town. They were all housing lanterns and some of them were eve drumming and singing as they all moved as one! It was like a full-time festival and Han immediately knew that they were going to see this woman. He took his coat and threw it on as he flew out the window and floated down to the street. He joined the long line of moving people and started moving towards the center of the town!

Han didn’t know what sort of person can incite this kind of happiness in these many people! This woman was able to make all of them so happy that they even made a festival just for her? The crowd of people all went towards the center of the town. They already decorated the tallest building in the town with a lot of lamps and linen and Han was just waiting with the rest of the crowd as they anticipated something eagerly.

Then a melodious sound echoed across the air. Some of the people started to go crazy as they shouted out in support! The clothes covering a stage opened and Han rose a brow in shock as he saw an extremely beautiful woman step out from there. She was wearing a full white robe and her hair was covered using a veil. She smiled at all the residents with a calm air around her as she raised her hand to them and spoke.

“I welcome all of you once more. I am truly happy to see that you are all in good health. Today is a special day for us all, and we should be happy and thankful for it!”

“Yarrrgh!!!!”

“Praise the priestess! Praise the Priestess! Praise the Priestess!”

Chants like these were echoing everywhere and Han couldn’t help but remember a similar thing that happened a long time ago. That time when he was on earth and Regulus was making a church in the apocalypse. It was very similar to what was happening here. Han chuckled as he remembered the sort of ideals that Regulus held! That man was completely insane but he was still someone that Han held in high regard! He was doing everything just for the chance to gain the creator’s favor. If only Regulus knew how small he was when compared to the sort of people that the creator was interested in, I’m sure the creator didn’t even know Regulus existed. But still, it was admirable in a way! It is not common to find someone with such tenacity! I wonder if this woman is the same?

The woman finally finished her talk and she told some of the residents to pass around the elixir for all. The woman smiled as she saw the happy faces that the people were showing. All of them were clambering to be the first to receive the elixir and she told them to calm down. It’s not like they wouldn’t get one. She brought enough for everyone!

The elixir was in some sort of opaque glass bottle so Han couldn’t see through it with his normal sight. Han immediately activated his eye skill and looked through the bottle to see a black liquid that was sloshing around! Han grimaced as he calmly collected the bottle that one of the women passed to him.

Han knew this was not an elixir that would do something good. Han didn’t know the properties of the elixir but it didn’t look like it did anything good! Han watched the other people around him chug it down like water and he waited to see what would happen. All of them released a collective sigh of happiness before they all grew glass-eyed and stopped moving at once!

Oh yeah, this is definitely a drug. Han immediately threw the bottle behind him. He knew that even if he drank the elixir it wouldn’t affect him because of his [Poison Immunity] but there is no way he would drink that black shit. It looked like it would destroy the insides of his body just from the color alone.

The priestess was excited as she looked around at all her puppets. It is good that they were still this easy to control. Now she can just take anyone she wants. She didn’t notice that Han was standing on his own and he wasn’t under her control as she pointed at three people and made them come forward. The woman’s head suddenly changed into a monster head that looked like a grotesque salamander. She opened her mouth wide and started to suck out something from the three men in front of her!

“Holy Shit!! What then hell is that!?”

Han couldn’t help it! This was just too disgusting! He intended to just silently watch to the end but what sort of bullshit is this!? Is she swallowing their life force or something!? Oh, god! I think I’m going to be sick.

The woman immediately turned to Han with surprise on her face. Why is this man still awake!? I thought everyone took the elixir!

“W-Why are you awake!? Didn’t you take the elixir!?”

“Of course not! Why the fuck would I drink that shit!? And please change your head back! This shit is freaky!”
