Kana sat in front of the computer cross legged as she searched through the internet. She found out the planet she was on was called D18. It was a strange name, but it was a world colonized by this race of humans from another planet. It seemed to be the name given to it before they reached the planet, and they just never changed it. As she had expected, the world was covered in cities. Every inch of land was covered. There was a massive ocean as well, which also had some floating cities on it as well.
The weather was controlled by a special device that allowed it to rain at least once a week in a good amount to allow water reservoirs to fill up. The air quality was also controlled by special machines that sucked the bad air into it, filtered it, and then shot the bad out into space. It replaced all the necessary elements needed for a person to breathe, which allowed this world to have very little air pollution. It was enough to keep the greenhouse gasses in place to allow the planet to hold in its heat.
Artificial intelligence and cybernetics were a big thing. Many people were well over the normal age limit for a human. This was because they had gone, full cyborg. "Hmmm…. Cybernetics… I have seen a lot of them in Aurora…"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtChewing on some dried meat, Kana continued to click her way through the internet before deciding to sleep for the night.
In the back alley where Kana had beaten up the so called thugs, one of the young men sat up and stared at the alley entrance with cold eyes. He pulled out his phone and pressed a few buttons before sneering. "That bitch actually used my card?"
Struggling to get up, the young man wobbled slightly before slowly making his way out of the alley. He did not care about his supposed friends as he walked out into the busy nightlife. "Let's let you play for a few days. It would be too boring if you didn't wrack up a high bill after all."
As he mumbled to himself, his phone rang. He looked at who was calling and accepted the call. "Yore, what is wrong?"
"Young Master, I have seen some strange charges on your card. Is everything all right?" A robotic voice came from the other end of the line.
"Tch…. Did that shitty old man tell you to keep track of my card again? Just ignore it. I know what is happening. Better yet, keep close track of it. Make sure to compile a list of all the stuff bought on it and save it. I want the total sum given to me in three days' time." The young man licked his lips. He really wondered how the girl would get out of this when he showed her the bill.
"Understood, Young Master, but I must remind you that you will need to return tonight. You have a meeting with the Master tomorrow." The robotic voice replied.
The young man clicked his tongue as he let out a long sigh. "Yeah, I am on my way. Send someone to my location to pick me up."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAs morning set in, Kana was sprawled out over the mat that was given to sleep on. Her hand was on her stomach, and her feet propped up on the wall of the room. "Ngh… Hmmm? What time is it?"
Kana slowly got up as she looked up at the television to see that it was around six in the morning. She yawned and stretched her arms before checking in on the others. When she saw they were all safe and sound, she relaxed and got herself together as she looked at the menu. The good thing about this place was it had delivery right to the room.
"Hmm, what should I get? Ummm… Wait, how much money is on this card?" Kana pursed her lips as she slid the card she used last night into the card slot thing next to the keyboard. This was normally used to pay for orders, but right now, Kana's fingers roamed across the keyboard until she cracked the card and looked at the amount of money on it. "Hmmm, that is a lot of zeros…. Over a few hundred billion? Let's see… Can I move this into a new account and rewrite this card?"
Kana did not know how high tech the security systems were, but she figured if they were nowhere close to Eve, who ran her ship, then she should be okay to make the card she had on hand her own and move the money from its account into a new one. After looking through lines of numbers, Kana cracked the card. Fed it with a new number and password and even created a false account under her own name. Once that was done, she transferred the money from the main account she had already opened into this new account and erased all transaction data so it could not be traced.
Once she was completely rich, Kana smiled and ordered a bunch of food to make sure the card worked. At the same time, a notification appeared on a certain young man's phone. His eyes went wide as she stared at the new account balance that had appeared. "Huh? What the fuck!? How is this even possible!? How are there only 0 credits in the account!? This isn't even my money!"
His bedroom door suddenly slammed open, and a middle aged man stepped into the room, veins popping out of his head as he looked at his son, charged over, and began beating him with his fists. "What the hell did you do!? The company is now bankrupt! We have nothing!"
He was one of the richest people in this sector, but now he was poorer than the homeless man on the side of the road. He couldn't believe it when the bank called and said his account had been emptied and there was no terrace of where the money went. He had no proof that it was a fraud. He looked down at his son, who was now bruised and battered, and yelled: "You did something! I don't know what the hell you did, but you did it. You find that money or never return here again!"
