Chapter 110: Abandonment Astrid's POV Erika? That's also my mother's name. The bracelet... Alpha Theron gave it to a woman named Erika, who then gave it to me.

My eyes slowly widened when Alpha Theron's words sank in. The woman he had been involved with, the one he had abandoned while she was pregnant. that woman is my mother. Which meant... My breath got caught in my throat as realization dawned uponlike a splash of cold water. Is the Alpha of the Shadowfang Pack my father? How could that be? How could a powerful Alpha be my father who abandoned us? My heart hammered inside my chest, my pulse pounding in my ears. I curled my fingers into the bedsheets, knuckles turning white from my vice-like grip as a storm of emotions clouded me. "Don't tell me..." Asha spoke, her eyes widening. "Tell me, is that the nof your mother?" she spoke directly to me.

My gaze flickered to Asha, my half-sister that I ever knew I had.

I opened my mouth, desperate to say something - anything, but the words lodged in my throat, choking me. I could only nod my head in response to her question.

My answer hit Asha like a punch to the gut, knocking the wind from her lungs. Her eyes went wide, and her mouth agape as she struggled to process everything.

Shaking her head slowly, Asha took a step back as if distance could somehow make this truth disappear. Her gaze darted between Theron and me, but just like her, I was also equally caught off guard by Alpha Theron's confession.

"There's no way." Asha blurted out. "There's no way that she's my half-sister!" Asha's fingers curled into trembling fists at her sides, nails biting into her palms.

She couldn't accept it. Of course, she would never accept being related toby blood.

"Look at her father. There's no way she's yours! She doesn't even have an Alpha blood in her veins. She's weak! I can't have a sister like that!" Asha reasoned out to her father as if begging him to take back his words and tell them that everything he said was just a lie.

I lowered my gaze as my half-sister reacted with vehement rejection of the news. The pain and betrayal etched onto Asha's features only served to amplify my own conflicted feelings.

"Enough, Asha!" Alpha Theron shouted as he held his daughter by his arms to steal ssense in her. "Erika was pregnant when she left. Astrid is my daughter. She's your true half-sister." Asha pulled back, removing her father's hold on her. She glared atwith menace as if all of this was my fault. "You're not my sister. You will never be my sister!" Asha yelled before storming out of the room.

"Asha! Asha! Cback here!" Alpha Theron yelled after her daughter, but she didn't turn back.

Alpha Theron sighed before turning to me. "Asha is the princess of the Pack; she was spoiled too much. Don't mind her. Soon enough, she would wake up to her senses." My gaze flickered to Alpha Theron when he spoke. Now that there was total silence, I finally cback to my senses.

All this time, I had yearned to know the identity of my father. I always thought he would be a rogue or a criminal even, but I never expected that he would turn out to be him.

Ever since I was little, I had always wondered why he abandonedand my mother. Of all the reasons I've thought about, this would be his reason That he abandoned us because we were less imis him? "Astrid," he began, voice low and thick with regret. "I... I cannot begin to express how deeply sorry I am. When I... when I left your mother, thought was making the right. choice, the only choice. "After you left, she took all the responsibility. Life was so hard on her that she died early." I spoke as I choked back tears.

Alpha Theron fell silent. He couldn't even look into my eyes. I've onlym mentioned my mother's pain. Mine was worse than hers because I had no father to protect me. "You're right. You robbedof a father, but you also robbedof a mother as well!" I shouted at him.

"What's the point of you telling us all of this?" I asked him mockingly.

"Didn't you choose your Pack instead of us? Since you've already made that choice, you should, e commit to your decision until the end," I spoke emptily.

"You can't choose your Pack and expect that you could also have me, Alpha. Let's just act like you said nothing." I added as I turned my back on him. X
