Chapter 1445 Price
The bartender of Big Jack's told Tim and Jasmine the names, the affiliations, and the object that they owned which was the Zurin treasure.
Ironheart Sam of the Graydrum pirates owned a bangle.
A man who went by the nof Crimson Hook owned a hook.
Captain Stillwater owned two treasures, a coin and a necklace.
Captain Redfist owned a glove and one of his men owned a piece of rope.
Captain Yolan apparently owned one as well, but nobody knew what he owned.
Whirlwind Tiffany owned a knife.
And finally, Silvereye owned a silver eyepatch.
Jasmine and Tim quickly noted down all the information they could get, asking for additional information from the bartender regarding the lesser-known figures and their affiliations.
They wrote down everything and they both paused at the end.
"That's only 9," Tim said.
Jasmine quickly counted, seeing if she missed someone, but there were only 9 objects.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"There are only 9 here," Jasmine told the man. "What about the 10th one?"
"What 10th one?" the bartender asked.
"There are 10 in this city with treasures, and we need to know who all of them are?" Jasmine said.
"Who told you there are 10?" the man asked. He started laughing out loud. "You have been duped. There are only 9 here."
Tim frowned. The chance of them being lied to was almost impossible given the source of the information, so the thing that was happening was that there were treasures in this city that the others did not know about.
"Thanks for this info," Tim said.
"Thankfor the rum," the man said.
Tim raised an eyebrow and smiled. "How much for the rum?" Jasmine asked.
"Depends," the Bartender said. "It's either 9 gold coins or 90."
Jasmine paused. "Why so different?" she asked.
She was already stunned by the price of the information she had received. 9 gold coins back hwould allow her and the kids to live comfortably for an entire year, if not more.
It was the average monthly incfor many people, and here it was being thrown so simply. 'Was the information that expensive?' she wondered for a second.
"What you got alone costs you 9 gold coins," the bartender said. "It costs an additional 81 coins forto not reveal to anyone that you casking for this information. My men are already ready to depart with this information to get to those who will quite like to get it."
"You're blackmailing us," Tim said.
"Nonsense," the man said. "This is just business."
"Quite an awful business you're doing here," Jasmine said.
The man grinned. "Welcto Rumgrave City," he said. "We're pirates. What did you expect?"
"I shouldn't have expected much, I suppose," Jasmine said. "Can I confer with my friend to see what he thinks is the right sum we should pay?"
"Sure," the man said and sat down. "You have a minute."
Jasmine turned around. "What should we do?" she asked him.
"How much money do you have?" Tim asked. He wasn't aware of how much Ning had given her.
"Enough," she said. "But I don't want to pay 90 gold coins for just this. We spend 120 for that fabulous place. This doesn't compare to that."
"I say we don't pay then," Tim said. "If trouble comes our way, we can handle it."
Jasmine thought for a moment and nodded. "Yes, let us do just that."
He then brought out 9 gold coins and slid them toward the man behind the bar. "Thanks for the information," she said. "Feel free to give away our information."
"I will be absolutely happy too," the man said and took the gold coins.
Jasmine and Tim walked out of the bar and noticed the people that had been staying around the bar, drinking had left right after them, moving somewhere.
Tim and Jasmine had nothing to do, so they decided to return back the hotel. "You got the information you were looking for?" the man at the front desk asked.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"We got what we wanted," Jasmine sighed and walked back up, ignoring the man any further than that.
She arrived at the door, guarded by the two big and buff men, and walked in. When she entered she looked around, confused for a moment.
She pushed aside Tim who was about to walk in and walked back outside. "The two men inside, did they leave somewhere?" she asked.
"They left right after you two left," one of the two guards said.
"Damn that man," Jasmine said softly. "Didn't he say he needed a nap or something? Why is he out already? I bet he just wants us to have more trouble."
Tim walked into the room and found the Book of Treasures lying by the couch. It had been left for him to use.
They had wanted to ask him about the 10th treasure in the city since the information seller was useless regarding that, but it turned out they wouldn't know about it just yet.
"It will be evening soon," Jasmine said. "We should go out right now and see if we can complete one of the 10."
Tim grabbed the book and walked out with her. They walked down to the front desk once more upon Jasmine's idea. The man looked at them and smiled, "Going somewhere?" "Yes," Jasmine said. "But we have something to do with you. If you can help us."
The man shrugged. "I'll try to if I can," he said.
"Your captain is Stillwater, of the Stillheart pirates, is she not?" Jasmine asked.
"She is," the man replied.
"What we went earlier to find out was all the Zurin treasures that people own in this city and who owns them," she said. "And we found out that your captain owns a coin and a necklace."
The man's eyes narrowed. "That's not something you want others to find out," he said.
"That's just it," Jasmine said. "We need to find that out. So, would it be possible for us to meet with your captain and learn about her Zurin Treasure?"
