Chapter 1561: Unfilial Child! As Hattie walked in, she met Selena's gaze.

Hattie paused for a moment before running over to Selena with excitement. "Selena!" Selena smiled as she looked at the young girl who was starting to blossom into a beautiful woman. In a few years, Hattie would grow up and become just like her and Selena - beautiful and wonderful girls.

"Hattie, come here," said Selena.

Hattie obediently sat down in front of Selena with her white face looking serious as she stared at her.

"I heard from Leia that you've already started preparing for Union University's assessment?" asked Selena.

Hattie nodded confidently. "Yes, | will be the best one there." Selena looked at Hattie's determined eyes and smiled even more broadly. She reached out to touch Hattie's hair and said, "Remember your dreams always, Hattie. Never forget where you came from." Hearing something in Selina’'s tone made Hatti tense up immediately as she grabbed onto her hand tightly asking nervously: "What happened? Are you okay?" "It's nothing," replied Selina shaking her head slightly."l just want to tell you that I'll be leaving the capital soon for somewhere I've missed for a long time." Hatti became panicked hearing this news grabbing onto Selenas hand unconsciously: "Where are you going? When will you come back?" "I'm going back home," replied Selina with a smile on her face while looking into the frightened eyes of the young girl who was about to cry any minute now."As for when I'll return... | don't know yet but | promise that once everything is settled down there then I'll definitely come back.” Looking at that beautiful face of hers made it clear that no one could change what decision had been made by this strong-willed woman named Selina.

"She said she was leaving, and no one could keep her here.

Most importantly, Selena said she was going back to her homeland...

Although Hattie couldn't guess Selena's true identity, through Leon's reminder, she learned that there were two Selenas.

One was the kind and strong Selena who had been living in Creephia for nineteen years.

The other was the beautiful and powerful Selena in front of her.

She was leaving...

The little girl sniffled but didn't cry as she looked at Selena with a determined face. "Selena, wait for me. When | grow up and become a very capable person, | will definitely come see you!" Listening to the little girl's strong words, Selena smiled contentedly. "Okay, | will wait for the day when Hattie grows up!" After making their promise, Hattie felt better and accompanied Selena to read books in the study.

Except for Beatrice who had been captured earlier that day, it was a peaceful day in the capital.

In the evening, Osvaldo came to pick up Selena and take her home.

Sitting on the passenger seat looking out at the bustling night scene outside of car window, Selana suddenly spoke,"Osvaldo." The man driving responded gently.

Selana smiled,"I'm going to leave the capital soon. Will you accompany me home?" Although knowing that she would follow her wherever she went, she still wanted to hear it from him what this man meant.

As they hit a red light, Osvaldo stopped the car and pulled Selena into his arms. Looking into her eyes, he asked, "My little troublemaker, are you my wife?" He was her husband and wherever she went, he would be there with her.

Selena already knew the answer but hearing it made her smile sweetly. "Then... before that happens, | should spend some quality time with my mother-in-law." After all, they were running away together to a dangerous place in the center of the city without knowing when they would return.

Osvaldo looked into her eyes and knew what she was thinking. He smiled gently and said,"Don't worry about your mother. She's used to it by now." Osvaldo left home at twelve years old.

In those thirteen years until he turned twenty-five years old, he rarely returned to the capital.

Lauren worried about her son's travels but she understood him well enough to know that Osvaldo didn't want to stay in the capital for long because there were things he wanted to pursue on his own.

She may not have known what those things were before but since Selena appeared in their lives Lauren knew better than anyone else that Osvaldo would leave again someday soon.

He would take his little girl with him and go where fate led them - where their empire was truly built by his hands alone.

Hearing Osvaldo's words made Selena widen her eyes slightly as guilt crept up on her. "You can't say that; it'll hurt your mother's feelings..." Even though Selena didn't have any children yet herself, she knew as a future mother how worried Lauren must be about sending off one of hers into such danger.

Osvaldo smiled, "My father will take good care of her," he lowered his head and kissed her luscious red lips, "Most importantly, she knows that her son and daughter-in-law are very powerful and will do well anywhere." Listening to the man's gentle voice, Selena blushed slightly and smiled sweetly. "Then... I'll go shopping with my mother-in-law tomorrow." Before taking away someone else's son, she had to make up for it.

The green light came on and Osvaldo touched Selena's small face before letting go of her.

Selena returned to the passenger seat with a sweet smile as she looked at the scenery outside the window. Although the capital was not her hometown, she had been here for almost a year. It was unrealistic not to have any feelings of reluctance.

While there was still a chance now, it would be good to take a few more glances.

Osvaldo had just returned home with Selena when Lauren called. Seeing Lauren's call while trying to run away with Osvaldo made Selena feel guilty instinctively. She took the initiative to answer the phone obediently and called out softly: "Mother-in-law." Lauren laughed like bells ringing in response: "Selena, what bad things have you done to my son? Why are you so sweet today?" Selena hesitated for a moment before looking at Osvaldo beside her who blushed slightly too. She didn't know whether she should admit or deny it.

Osvaldo noticed Selena's embarrassment so he took over the phone himself: "Selena wants to invite you out shopping tomorrow." After a moment of silence, Lauren suddenly spoke up. "Son, are you and Selena planning to elope without telling me?" Selena remained silent.

Osvaldo also didn't say anything.

As they continued talking, Lauren suddenly burst into tears and said, "My dear child, | have never opposed your relationship with Selena. Are you really going to leave me like this?" Selena still didn't respond.

Osvaldo remained quiet as well. Lauren's crying continued as she said, "You're such an unfilial child! You've always been out of the house since you were young and now that you finally came back, you won't even spend a few days with your mother..."
