Damien was surprised to see a flawlessly beautiful girl around nineteen years old wearing a snow-gauze long dress that covered her feet, entering the class with graceful steps.
Her crystal and charming azure eyes were cold and frigid as a frozen abyss, with her face expressionless as an ice cube. Her long sapphire-colored hair that flowed down her back made her look like an avatar of the beautiful oceans.
Boys and girls alike, their mouths went agape seeing the otherworldly beauty enter their class. No one let out a single sound, and their eyes were transfixed on her celestial figure as if their souls were involuntarily drawn towards her.
There was absolute silence in the class as everyone even stopped breathing, and it was as if their hearts had stopped beating.
In everyone's mind, a similar question echoed…
Was she a goddess who arose from the oceans to lead a mortal's life?...
Even the young masters of prominent families who had enjoyed many beauties felt that those beauties were all ugly compared to her.
The brilliance of her face obstructed every other color, and even the sunlight seemed to dim around her. Her tender lips, which were a lovely pink rose that seemed as if the gods had personally drawn it with the utmost care, were breathtakingly beautiful.
Her figure revealed a trace of sacredness and nobleness that others didn't dare to look into her eyes.
Just by looking at her from afar, everyone felt a clear wave of ethereal aura, cold as the seas slowly disperse in the room.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt'Reva Xeton? What is she doing here? Is she my teacher? No, it can't be...' Damien was puzzled seeing her here as all twenty-five students were already present in the class. So, how could there be one extra student? He wondered if they admitted her at the last minute as an exception.
But to everyone's surprise, Reva walked towards the glass board in the center of the wall which faced the room.
She hovered her gaze over the whole class and said in a succinct voice, "My name is Reva Xeton. Despite my identity as the princess of this empire within the Xeton Ethereal Foundation, I am only an instructor who will be teaching you all alchemy. You all can address me as Instructor Reva. I have already learned all your names, so there's no need to introduce yourselves. Anybody has any questions?" As she asked, everyone could feel her cold gaze penetrating their hearts, and no one dared to ask any questions.
Most of all, everyone was dumbfounded by the turn of events. What they thought was a late entry student turned out to be their teacher!
But the most shocking fact was that she was the princess of the Xeton Empire! No one in their dreams would have imagined such a scenario.
Even Damien was dumbstruck that Reva was his teacher. A girl who was only three years older than him and at most two years older than even the oldest disciples in the class.
But when he thought back to the day he offered her tea during her first visit, he remembered how she could recognize the herbs just by its fragrance.
'Don't tell me she is an expert in alchemy?' Damien wondered if her etheric fire was so powerful that her talent and knowledge in alchemy was peerless enough to teach others.
All the boys cried inwardly with joy that they were lucky to join this division as some other teacher would be assigned to the other division. Now, every day they would be able to behold the extremely beautiful princess of the Xeton Empire for an hour at least.
They now felt that it was completely worth the effort they had put in to qualify the assessments. At the moment, they didn't even care about the fame, reputation, status, and resources. All they wanted now was to stay forever in the class while beholding her beauty like a piece of art.
'She seems too serious hmm...did she put up a business face when she met me the first time?' Although Damien guessed that Reva was not someone who talked much, he didn't expect her to be so unsmiling. He thought that this was how she usually was as her eyes were always unfeeling as tranquil water.
Seeing everyone's stupefied faces, Reva's expression was as unmoving as ever and said calmly, "Since nobody has any questions, we will begin."
However, she suddenly saw a hand rising from the side. Her glimmering eyes moved as she looked at Damien.
"Yes, Damien Godwin, what is your doubt?"
"Nothing much, teacher. Since you are so young, I wonder if you are really experienced in alchemy, just as those elderly alchemists who toiled in this field for probably even centuries. Of course, I mean no offense and am simply asking out of curiosity. If you don't want to answer my question, feel free to ignore it." Damien said with a vague smile.
Reva's eyes slightly creased when she heard his question.
Some disciples let out gasps seeing Damien be so rude to the Ethereal Fairy. They wondered whether Damien ingested some pill that induced stupidity to ask the Xeton Empire's princess if she was even fit enough to be a teacher.
Even if they had a hundred times the guts, they would never ask such a question. And obviously, she wouldn't be here if she at least didn't have exemplary talent and knowledge in alchemy. If her knowledge was really poor, then she would not only lose face but also the reputation of Xeton Ethereal Foundation.
There was no way she would take up teaching if she wasn't confident of herself. Besides, they all heard of her extraordinary talent.
Most of the boys in the class wanted to beat up Damien for being so audacious with her. Their fists were tightly clenched, seeing that Damien dared to put their Ethereal Fairy in a difficult spot.
Some even thought of admonishing Damien in front of her to earn some brownie points.
Reva's expression didn't change much, and she replied in a cool tone, "You will find that out soon, won't you? And if you still think that my knowledge is subpar, feel free to submit a petition to the headmaster. If the majority feels the same, I would gladly let someone else take up my position. Any other questions?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm'Damn, she's so unfaltering for her age.' Damien got a bit disappointed that he couldn't provoke her as he wanted to.
He gave a slim smile as he said, "Of course not, teacher. You can continue."
Reva turned back to the glass board and started writing on it using her ethereal energy. Bright azure lines appeared on the glass board as she wrote.
'Even her handwriting is as beautiful as her, wew…' Damien saw her writing on the glass board as azure letters formed on the board.
Pointing to the board, she said, "Today, we would be learning just the basics, and each one of you would decide whether you are comfortable with using your Fire seed or etheric fire to concoct pills."
Her beauty entranced the boys so much that their attention was not at all on her words.
Reva furrowed her brows, seeing that most of them were drooling so blatantly. She snapped her fingers as a cold burst of ethereal aura immediately spread across the room, jolting everyone out of their daze.
They all felt as if the sudden ripple of ice-cold air penetrated their chest cavities.
She said coldly, "If you don't listen to my lecture, then don't expect to pass this class. If you fail this class, not only you would have to sit with juniors, but you will also get demoted to the Gold batch. And if you fail there again, you would be demoted to the Bronze batch, and if your track record is still unsatisfactory, then you will be expelled."
Damien inwardly felt pity for the boys in his class that they were gaping at the wrong girl.
The whole class became quiet as the snow as Reva began to take her lessons, and no one dared to stare at her anymore.
They knew if they upset her, they could get demoted to Gold batch or worse as she could use her influence as the Xeton Empire's princess. Even though some of their parents were in high ranking positions, they were still below Reva in status and didn't dare to risk anything.
However, after a few minutes, Damien yawned and scratched his ear as he tilted his head towards the window.
But just as he closed his eyes to sleep…
"Damien Godwin, is this class too boring for you?" Reva's cool voice traveled to his ears and pervaded his mind.
