"Sigh, that I still don't know why but according to our ancestors, the ethereal air in our continent was once profound and thick, unlike now. After all, the Rising Sun Continent was also once a part of the outside world which was later separated as a way to create a smaller world of its own that would forever remain separate from the outside world," Elor said as he sat down on a comfortable-looking stone block.
Damien didn't expect that the continent he was living on all this while once had the potential to nurture cultivators to realms above Ruthren.
"Then what happened to our continent to become weaker as time passed?" Damien felt that something was off here.

Or maybe the only one who might have any idea would be Ruthren since he and Yohr had been working together for all this time. It should be obvious that they or now he must know more than us. Otherwise, someone like Ruthren isn't that brave enough to risk his entire empire by trying to open the gates. Do you happen to be close with any emperor from the other three empires? I know the Gale Empire is out of the question. But what about the other two? Maybe they know the reason why Ruthren is trying to open the gates again."
Damien's expression became contemplative as he rubbed his chin, "I don't have much connections with the Lancaster Empire. In fact, the woman, the crown prince of the Lancaster Empire, was in love with chose me. So he might still be pissed about that, and I don't really have the time to form any kind of close relationship with that empire. The only empire that I really have a close relationship with is the Rong Empire. Lily…Ha…I want to see her badly…" Damien was feeling sorry and guilty for Lily for still not saving her from her fate. He knew the time he promised her had not yet passed.
Still, for him, he felt as if a long time had passed since he last saw her. Even if he was sending her letters occasionally, seeing her face to face was a whole different thing. Of course, he also wanted to see Yuria as well and wondered if she was facing any troubles over there. The last time he checked, things were pretty neutral in the Krisen Kingdom.
"If I am right, that obnoxious woman is ruling the empire as the empress, right?" Elor asked as he leaned on his walking stick.
Damien's expression also became taut as he nodded, "Yes…unfortunately. So there is no way I can talk to her. She seems to have a close relationship with the Xeton Empire. Ha…is there really no way to know what is going on?"
"Not necessarily. Since you have a very close relationship with the Celestial Princess, I feel that you couldn't have escaped the eyes of that protective old guy. The strongest man in the Rong Empire and the only living ancestor. Marvin Rong," Elor said with a sharp light in his eyes. By now, he already knew that his future grandson-in-law had bagged all the best beauties in the continent.
And even if he didn't like the fact that Reva won't be his sole wife, he felt that someone like Damien was bound to attract more women than ordinary men. As someone who was once the leader of the Zirians, he knew it well.
But of course, he wasn't as lucky as Damien, though he had no regrets in choosing Irene.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHearing Elor talk about the Rong Ancestor, Damien's eyes lit up as he nodded, "Of course, I know him. He was even okay with my relationship with Lily and blessed us. His only regret was that he wasn't strong enough to deal with the Xeton Empire on his own. Yet, he gave his word that he would protect Lily with his own life. That is why I was able to leave with some peace in my mind. Despite being the ancestor, he is like a grandfather to Lily. He is like the only true family she has now. I have quite a friendly relationship with him, especially since I helped him heal his ailments."
Elor subtly smiled as he said, "Good. Then you have to go to the Rong Empire as soon as possible and have a talk with Marvin. Even if that woman is the empress, the 'key' wouldn't be in her hands. It should still be with Marvin since he is still the strongest carrier of the Rong bloodline. I doubt he would pass it to anyone else before he dies."
"Go back to the Rong Empire? Maybe I should anyway…" Damien mumbled as he thought about Lily, feeling that maybe he should just take her away along with him now that things couldn't be worse with the Xeton Empire.
Elor saw the contemplative expression on Damien's face and saw through his thoughts as he said, "If you really want to take away the girl, then I advise you to do it as fast as possible before Ruthren realizes that you are close with Lily. Because based on what I know about him, he is a very despicable and cruel man who would target your weaknesses just to hunt you down. Since you are now a public enemy of the Xeton Empire, no matter where you go in the Rising Sun Continent, you would be branded as a criminal, and even bounty hunters would be roaming all around the continent to hunt you down and take you to Ruthren. So you better have a good way to disguise yourself without giving away any clues of your original identity."
Damien smiled as he said, "Don't worry, grandpa. When it comes to disguising myself, I doubt anyone out there can do it better than me."
"Haha, now that's the confidence I am proud of.. I knew my grandson-in-law would have more tricks up his sleeve than I thought," Elor felt as if he had only barely seen a glimpse of the amazing things his grandson-in-law could do.
